Studio 54 was the epicenter of 70s hedonism--a place that not only redefined the nightclub, but also came to symbolize an entire era. Its co-owners, Ian Schrager and Steve Rubell, two friends from Brooklyn, seemed to come out of nowhere to suddenly preside over a new kind of New York society. Opening scene shows Studio 54 on the wrong side of the street. With cars going East the club was on the right side. You can see the 54 (blurry) reversed.

Fairly routine talking head doc about the brief life of the crazy club that people still talk about. Some neat archival footage, but overall there's not THAT much to talk about. 3 years of debauchery then jail time. What you get is a bit of stretched out run time, but still ultimately interesting enough to make it worth checking out.
