Hallmark Channel fans may know Patti Murin best for her work in movies like Love on Iceland or In Merry Measure, but she got her start on Broadway!

The musical theatre actress is opening up about her experience playing Glinda on the National Tour of Wicked and how she has a “complicated” relationship with the show because of her ex-husband.

Patti wrote a lengthy post on Instagram to talk about her experience with the show amid the release of the movie.

“First let me say: This movie is goddamn perfect. Then let me say: I’ve had a complicated relationship with Wicked,” Patti began the post.

Over the past couple of years, Netflix has been encroaching on the Hallmark Channel’s holiday season chokehold.

Writer Russell Hainline is no stranger to the Christmas movie, having penned several titles for Hallmark, including The Santa Summit and In Merry Measure. This week he debuted his first Netflix entry, the delightfully named, Hot Frosty.

The movie stars Hallmark company player Lacey Chabert as Kathy, a widow and beloved local who wraps a magical scarf around a sculpted snowman with an eight-pack who becomes a real — and very naked — man named Jack. Hijinks ensue with naive and preternaturally good-natured Jack (Dustin Milligan) being ogled by the local women and helping plan the high school’s winter formal, all the while being pursued by the cops for the initial display of public indecency. The film has earned an overwhelmingly positive critical response and is currently sitting at Netflix’s No. 1 most-streamed movie in the U.

Hallmark Christmas Queen Lacey Chabert is starring in the upcoming Netflix holiday movie Hot Frosty. Starring along with Lacey is Schitt’s Creek alum Dustin Milligan, The Office alum Craig Robinson, Joe Lo Truglio, Katy Mixon, Lauren Holly, and Chrishell Stuase. Also producing this series is long-time Hallmark collaborator Muse Entertainment, as well as Hallmark fan-favorite writer Russell Hainline writing the script.

Lacey Chabert is starring in another Christmas film, this time for Netflix. The actor, best known for her roles in “Mean Girls,” “Party of Five” and over 30 Hallmark films, will lead “Hot Frosty” for the streamer.

The film will also star Dustin Milligan, Joe Lo Truglio (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine”), Craig Robinson (“The Office”), Katy Mixon (“American Housewife”), Lauren Holly (“Dumb and Dumber”) and Chrishell Stause (“Selling Sunset”).

The film’s official logline reads, “Two years after losing her husband, Cathy magically brings a handsome snowman to life! Through his naïveté, the snowman helps Cathy to laugh, feel and love again, as the two fall for each other just in time for the holidays…and before he melts.”

Jerry Ciccoritti will direct from a script by Russell Hainline.

Producers include Joel S. Rice and Michael Barbuto for Muse Entertainment, while Aren Prupas and Jonas Prupas will executive produce.

Patti Murin is heading back to the stage!

The 43-year-old actress, who you might recognize from her appearances in Hallmark Channel movies like Love on Iceland and In Merry Measure, will play June Carter Cash in the new musical The Ballad of Johnny and June.

Some of Patti‘s previous musical roles include Princess Anna in Broadway’s Frozen and the title role in Lysistrata Jones.

Patti will star alongside Christopher Ryan Grant as Johnny Cash and Van Hughes and Van Hughes as John Carter Cash.

“Told through the eyes of their son John Carter Cash, this new musical covers it all: Johnny and June’s childhoods, their 1956 meeting at the Grand Ole Opry, the storied on-stage proposal in 1968, and the soaring highs and whiplash lows of fame, life on the road, addiction, arrests, controversies, marriage, family and devotion,” the official synopsis reads.
