The sitcom will stars Inbetweeners actor Davies as Dan, an immature teacher.
Though the series will not premiere until the autumn, Channel 4 has already commissioned a festive special after being impressed by the early episodes, Broadcast reports.
The special episode is said to be airing alongside The It Crowd's one-off finale.

Sky Atlantic has confirmed that Smash, House of Lies and Aaron Sorkin's The Newsroom will return to the channel this summer.
The satellite channel will host the UK premiere of The Newsroom's second season in August.
Jeff Daniels and Emily Mortimer are set to return as the leaders of the News Night broadcast team, challenging the corporate agenda as well as dealing with the complicated interpersonal relationships between themselves and colleagues.
The Don Cheadle-fronted House of Lies will also return to British screens with its second season in August. Fans of the dark comedy, which was recently renewed for a third run, will be able to access the first season through Sky On Demand from June 3.

Him & Her star Russell Tovey appears opposite Miranda's Sarah Hadland in the job centre comedy.
Sophie McShera (Downton Abbey), Tony Maudsley (Benidorm), Martin Marquez (Hotel Babylon), Angela Curran (This is Jinsy) and Adeel Akhtar (Utopia) will also star.
