Woodhaven Production Company and Chad A. Verdi Productions have worked with some of the biggest names in horror, and now they are bringing in two more genre legends to star in their upcoming film Almost Mercy, written and directed by Tom DeNucci.

Both Bill Moseley and Kane Hodder will be featured prominently in the film.

Previously Woodhaven has featured such stars as Robert Englund in Inkubus, William Forsythe and Michael Madsen in Infected, Michael Berryman and Eric Roberts in Self Storage, and Tony Todd and Godsmack's Sully Erna in Army of the Damned just to name a few. Now Tom DeNucci has a whole new tale to tell, and Moseley and Hodder will be headlining the cast.

To say that producer Chad A. Verdi has made a splash on the horror industry would be quite the understatement. In just the last two years he has produced films starring Robert Englund, Tony Todd, Michael Berryman and many more.

And he's just getting started.

Verdi inked a four-picture deal with Screen Media guaranteeing him distribution for his films before they were even made. A monumental feat for an independent film company. Now Verdi continues to add to his catalog of films, and even landed legendary director Martin Scorsese to co-produce a project he's always dreamed of making.

Recently Woodhaven Pictures invited Dread Central to visit the set of their newest project, Army of the Damned, and the cast was so unique that we had to take them up on the offer. This is the conclusion of our set visit report.

Our first article on the Army of the Damned set visit contained interviews with Tony Todd, Nick Principe, Tommy Dreamer, Thea Trinidad, Maria Kanellis and Jackie Moore. Read on to see who shows up in Part Two.

He's a newcomer to the acting business, but certainly not to entertaining audiences. Sully Erna, lead singer of rock band Godsmack, made his feature film debut in Army of the Damned. "This is my first lead in a movie and it's cool," Erna said. "It's an action/horror and there's some good sarcastic New England humor in it. They put me together with three other cops that play beside me.

Producer Chad A. Verdi had already assembled a memorable cast for his current project, Army of the Damned, but the man behind Woodhaven Productions refuses to rest on his laurels.

Verdi has now added former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis and the infamous Jasmine St. Claire to the project.

Everyone has a favorite wrestling diva, but it is this writer's opinion that there has never been a more drop-dead gorgeous creature to enter the squared circle than Maria Kanellis. She is absolutely stunning, and as you can see by the still shot from Army of the Damned below, she's got no trouble getting into the action of a bloody horror film.

Kanellis and St. Claire are added to a very interesting cast. Verdi stated, "We have a very eclectic group of actors on this project: horror legends, rock and pop stars, TV and wrestling superstars, Playboy Playmates and the list goes on.

Zombie movies are the flavor of the moment and have been for a while now. At least one film featuring some variation of the walking dead is released a week. However, I wouldn't necessarily call the creatures we see in Infected traditional zombies.

The Infected people in this never die. They get sick from exposure to Lyme disease by being bit by an animal or person who contracted it or ate something it was in, such as contaminated meat. The individuals who are infected don't just lumber around aimlessly. They actually resemble rabid animals, talk, and move rapidly.

Although the zombies in Infected aren't typical, the set-up of the movie is. We have a group of people trapped in a cabin in the woods. They must fight off the diseased as they attempt to break into the house and eat every living thing inside. The characters end up having to...

Chad A. Verdi alerted Dread Central that his Rhode Island film company Woodhaven Productions has two big announcements today. Not only has Woodhaven begun filming its newest production, Army of the Damned, but the picture has already been sold to Screen Media.

The film was written and directed by Tom DeNucci and boasts a unique cast including horror legends Tony Todd and Michael Berryman, singer/actor Joey Fatone, Godsmack frontman Sully Erna, former professional wrestlers Tommy Dreamer and Thea Trinidad, a man who knows a thing or two about horror Nick Principe, David Chokachi, Jackie Moore and Tom Paolino. Filming will be done in East Greenwich, Warwick, Cranston and Providence, Ri.

Don’t look now but the Woodhaven Production Company is at it again. Producer Chad A. Verdi has announced his newest film, Army of the Damned, will begin filming in April.

Verdi was so impressed with Tom DeNucci, who wrote and directed his previous film, Self Storage, that he handed him the reins of this film as well.

Verdi Productions and The Woodhaven Production Company announce that Rhode Island filmmaker Chad A. Verdi has tabbed writer/director Tom DeNucci to direct his next horror film, Army of the Damned. We've got some new updates coming out of Rock and Shock. One story involves a new celebrity guest, and the other concerns a promotion for servicemen and women, including police officers, firefighters and EMTs, attending the festival.

Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts has been added to the constantly growing list of Rock and Shock celebrity guests. Roberts will join Michael Berryman, Jonathan Silverman, Chad Verdi and the rest of the Woodhaven Production team for their panel just before the world premiere of Infected on Saturday night. Verdi recently announced that Roberts and Silverman not only star in his next picture, Self Storage, but have both already signed on for a sequel to be shot next year. Producer Chad A. Verdi, who is currently riding a wave a horror success with his Robert Englund vehicle Inkubus, is refusing to sit on his newly achieved laurels. Although his next film, the zombie thriller Infected, isn't due for release until Halloween, a prequel has already been announced.

Infected stars Michael Madsen, William Forsythe and Christy Romano in a struggle for survival as humans turn into zombie-like beasts from a blood infection. However, in even bigger news, Verdi has announced that a prequel to Infected is already in the works which Verdi himself will direct. The story follows zombies who infect friends and family that are still human. Though they understand the seriousness of the unnatural acts they commit, they are unable to stop.

First up, Variety reports Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs, Sin City) will lead the indie zombie flick Infected, with a story that focuses on a father and son who have to fight to survive against a deadly, rapidly spreading blood virus. Sounds like typical zombie fare, and something tells me Madsen doesn't exactly carefully select his projects since he has around 30 projects that are either in pre/post production or currently filming and that's insane. Next, Variety confirms what we'd heard earlier regarding casting for spy thriller Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy with one exception. Madsen may do a lot of bad films so you can say what you want, but he's still a bad*ss. Now he's signed on to to star in a film directed by Glenn Ciano which sounds a little bit like Shatter Dead, where the zombies consciousness is still intact, but in this one, they are conscious of what their violent acts. Variety reports that "Infected" centers on a father and son who have to fight to survive against a deadly, rapidly spreading blood virus, but we've one upped them and have found a full blown synopsis:

Every year, Andrew Murphy and his father, Terry, are first to arrive at the Hunting Club. With the help of long time friends, they prepare the cabin for the start of deer hunting season. Deep in the woods, cut off from civilization, they spend a long weekend cleaning, rekindling old friendships, and hunting.

Michael Madsen is fighting zombies in his next movie, “Infected” for Verdi-Corrente Productions, with shooting starting in October and Glenn Ciano directing. In the film, a father (Madsen) and his son must fight to survive against a deadly, rapidly spreading blood virus that has infected a group of hunters. Glenn Ciano will direct from a script he co-wrote with Robert Rotondo Jr. Ciano has already wrapped on another horror title, “Inkubus” starring William Forsythe and “A Nightmare on Elm Street’s” Robert Englund, as well as former ‘N’Sync boy band member Joey Fatone.

Actor Michael Madsen is making his living lately by dabbling in the bizarre world of low-budget terror tales. While we're happy to have him plying his trade to our genre, it is hard not to hope that the quality of the roles that he's choosing picks up a bit. Maybe his next film, Infected, will do the trick!

Variety reports that Madsen has just signed on to star in the zombie opus Infected for Verdi-Corrente Prods, who also have the Robert Englund starrer Inkubus on tap for us later this year.
