Woodhaven Production Company and Chad A. Verdi Productions have worked with some of the biggest names in horror, and now they are bringing in two more genre legends to star in their upcoming film Almost Mercy, written and directed by Tom DeNucci.
Both Bill Moseley and Kane Hodder will be featured prominently in the film.
Previously Woodhaven has featured such stars as Robert Englund in Inkubus, William Forsythe and Michael Madsen in Infected, Michael Berryman and Eric Roberts in Self Storage, and Tony Todd and Godsmack's Sully Erna in Army of the Damned just to name a few. Now Tom DeNucci has a whole new tale to tell, and Moseley and Hodder will be headlining the cast.
Fans of Tom DeNucci's previous movies certainly know that the filmmaker normally has a vein of comedy running through his horror films. However, with Almost Mercy, although there is certainly black comedy to it,...

To say that producer Chad A. Verdi has made a splash on the horror industry would be quite the understatement. In just the last two years he has produced films starring Robert Englund, Tony Todd, Michael Berryman and many more.
And he's just getting started.
Verdi inked a four-picture deal with Screen Media guaranteeing him distribution for his films before they were even made. A monumental feat for an independent film company. Now Verdi continues to add to his catalog of films, and even landed legendary director Martin Scorsese to co-produce a project he's always dreamed of making.
Verdi recently sat down with Dread Central to talk about his recently wrapped film Army of the Damned and his upcoming projects. "I feel Army of the Damned is the best horror movie we've made yet. No question about it," Verdi said. I think the actors came in, they delivered and with...

Recently Woodhaven Pictures invited Dread Central to visit the set of their newest project, Army of the Damned, and the cast was so unique that we had to take them up on the offer. This is the conclusion of our set visit report.
Our first article on the Army of the Damned set visit contained interviews with Tony Todd, Nick Principe, Tommy Dreamer, Thea Trinidad, Maria Kanellis and Jackie Moore. Read on to see who shows up in Part Two.
He's a newcomer to the acting business, but certainly not to entertaining audiences. Sully Erna, lead singer of rock band Godsmack, made his feature film debut in Army of the Damned. "This is my first lead in a movie and it's cool," Erna said. "It's an action/horror and there's some good sarcastic New England humor in it. They put me together with three other cops that play beside me.

Producer Chad A. Verdi had already assembled a memorable cast for his current project, Army of the Damned, but the man behind Woodhaven Productions refuses to rest on his laurels.
Verdi has now added former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis and the infamous Jasmine St. Claire to the project.
Everyone has a favorite wrestling diva, but it is this writer's opinion that there has never been a more drop-dead gorgeous creature to enter the squared circle than Maria Kanellis. She is absolutely stunning, and as you can see by the still shot from Army of the Damned below, she's got no trouble getting into the action of a bloody horror film.
Kanellis and St. Claire are added to a very interesting cast. Verdi stated, "We have a very eclectic group of actors on this project: horror legends, rock and pop stars, TV and wrestling superstars, Playboy Playmates and the list goes on.

Zombie movies are the flavor of the moment and have been for a while now. At least one film featuring some variation of the walking dead is released a week. However, I wouldn't necessarily call the creatures we see in Infected traditional zombies.
The Infected people in this never die. They get sick from exposure to Lyme disease by being bit by an animal or person who contracted it or ate something it was in, such as contaminated meat. The individuals who are infected don't just lumber around aimlessly. They actually resemble rabid animals, talk, and move rapidly.
Although the zombies in Infected aren't typical, the set-up of the movie is. We have a group of people trapped in a cabin in the woods. They must fight off the diseased as they attempt to break into the house and eat every living thing inside. The characters end up having to...

With Michael Berryman, Sully Erna and Nick Principe already in the cast of their upcoming film, you'd think producer Chad Verdi and Woodhaven Productions would rest on their laurels. But that's far from the case as the team has enlisted Tony Todd for their Army of the Damned.
"Tony Todd is a great actor and a horror legend," Verdi said. "He was the last piece of the puzzle that I felt this film needed to be the blockbuster I know it will be."
Todd will join Berryman, Erna and Principe along with entertainer Joey Fatone and former professional wrestlers Tommy Dreamer and Thea Trinidad as well as David Chokachi, Jackie Moore and Tom Paolino in the Army of the Damned cast. The film will be directed by Tom DeNucci and photographed by cinematographer Sam Eilertsen. You can keep updated on the project by 'liking' Army of the Damned on Facebook.

While it may sound like just another new entry in the already overcrowded zombie subgenre, with two of today’s cinema’s greatest tough guys together in a fright flick about redneck hunters fighting flesh-eating rage zombies, I’m willing to give Infected a chance.
Synopsis:
An annual relaxing outing in the countryside becomes anything but after a blood virus infects a group of hunters, turning them into bloodthirsty maniacs. Now the pack of survivors must thwart off the creatures in order to see daylight again. Infected is a true, but wickedly twisted, tale of survival in the wilderness.
“Boardwalk Empire” badass William Forsythe and Reservoir Dogs ear aficionado Michael Madsen, along with the fetching Christy Carlson Romano (Mirrors 2, “Kim Possible”), star in this walking dead in the woods chiller from Inkubus director/co-writer Glenn Ciano.
Infected begins contaminating DVD and VOD on April 9th, courtesy of Screen Gems.

When you think of horror production, you don't normally think Rhode Island, but that may change if Chad A. Verdi and his Woodhaven Production Company have anything to say about it. Verdi is proud to announce they have greenlit their third horror film, Self-Storage.

Producer Chad A. Verdi, who is currently riding a wave a horror success with his Robert Englund vehicle Inkubus, is refusing to sit on his newly achieved laurels. Although his next film, the zombie thriller Infected, isn't due for release until Halloween, a prequel has already been announced.

According to the producer, the wheels are turning and buyers are lined up for this one. Madsen will return for the prequel.

According to the producer, the wheels are turning and buyers are lined up for this one. Madsen will return for the prequel.
Couple this news with the fact that Inkubus currently sits at #7 in Redbox rentals, available in 100 million homes On Demand and with over 60,000 DVDs sold, and it looks like Verdi and his crew...

Glenn Ciano will not be stopped. With an incredibly infectious energy level and a "by any means necessary" filmmaking attitude, this director is brimming with excitement about the theatrical release of his first feature film. And the lucky bastards at this year's Rock and Shock horror movie and music convention, will be the first to bear witness to Ciano's creation, Inkubus starring Robert Englund.
"I wanted it to be something a little different," Ciano says of Inkubus. "Kind of a throwback to the '80s's genre flick. A little bit of nuts and guts with two powerhouse performers in Robert Englund and William Forsythe."
And with names like that attached to his first feature film, Ciano had to be sure to excel in the director's chair every time out. "I had to approach it head on and give fans, guys like me, something to cheer about again," Ciano said. "Robert is unbelievable.

Michael Madsen ('Reservoir Dogs', Kill Bill'), William Forsythe ('The Devil's Rejects', Rob Zombie's 'Halloween', and Christy Carlson Romano ('Mirrors 2' - nude shower clip link available below!) all have something in common; they are trying to keep their distance from the 'Infected', a breed of non-generic zombies born from a parasitic 'tick' virus. The new zombie flick, from writer director Glenn Ciano ('Inkubus'), recently cast the sexy model/actress/director Lily Haze (below) in the upcoming movie. And it appears Miss Haze is developing a new documentary about the parts women have traditionally played in the horror genre. An exploration of female roles in film and literature, including graphic novels, with a nod to their intrinsically fetishistic nature. Haze was introduced to Glenn Ciano at a local horror convention where he screened a demo reel of his previous film,...

They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you. When the Casting Tidbits are down, these civilized people, they'll eat each other. See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve. First up, Variety reports Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs, Sin City) will lead the indie zombie flick Infected, with a story that focuses on a father and son who have to fight to survive against a deadly, rapidly spreading blood virus. Sounds like typical zombie fare, and something tells me Madsen doesn't exactly carefully select his projects since he has around 30 projects that are either in pre/post production or currently filming and that's insane. Next, Variety confirms what we'd heard earlier regarding casting for spy thriller Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy with one exception. Gary Oldman, Colin Firth and Michael Fassbender are indeed signed on to star in Tomas Alfredson's adaptation of...

Madsen may do a lot of bad films so you can say what you want, but he's still a bad*ss. Now he's signed on to to star in a film directed by Glenn Ciano which sounds a little bit like Shatter Dead, where the zombies consciousness is still intact, but in this one, they are conscious of what their violent acts. Variety reports that "Infected" centers on a father and son who have to fight to survive against a deadly, rapidly spreading blood virus, but we've one upped them and have found a full blown synopsis:
Every year, Andrew Murphy and his father, Terry, are first to arrive at the Hunting Club. With the help of long time friends, they prepare the cabin for the start of deer hunting season. Deep in the woods, cut off from civilization, they spend a long weekend cleaning, rekindling old friendships, and hunting.

Actor Michael Madsen is making his living lately by dabbling in the bizarre world of low-budget terror tales. While we're happy to have him plying his trade to our genre, it is hard not to hope that the quality of the roles that he's choosing picks up a bit. Maybe his next film, Infected, will do the trick!
Variety reports that Madsen has just signed on to star in the zombie opus Infected for Verdi-Corrente Prods, who also have the Robert Englund starrer Inkubus on tap for us later this year.
The film, directed by Glenn Ciano, centers on a father and son who have to fight to survive against a deadly, rapidly spreading blood virus.
