As opposed to other reviewers who are sadly so limited they can only conceive of Linda Hunt as an object of derision, I tune in specifically to see her. The show is adequate. I've always liked LL Cool J and it's nice to see Chris O'Donnell again. (The nerds suck, especially when you consider Abby from the original show.) But it's the presence of Linda Hunt that elevates this show. She's a rich, interesting actor and her character here has a great backstory.
Sure this team could be managed by yet another grizzled actor playing a tough as nails former Navy Seal type, whose life has been touched by tragedy because his wife died of breast cancer or his little girl choked on a marble. I'd rather have Linda Hunt because she is a true original. I've seen enough shallow cookie cutter actors with impossibly white teeth and ripped abs. Now I want to watch stories about people who are unique and unusual and earthy and human.

I really love this show but not so much since Mosley has been on board. Mosely's character is irritating & I can't stand the way she talks down to the other characters, especially in the season ending episode where she threatened everyone into compromising themselves for her own purpose & causing the entire team to fight! I've DVR'ed the new season & haven't watched it yet because I love NCIS LA but really don't want to see her character! Gawd I really hope they get rid of her character!! Love Hetty...so go back to what worked & leave her in charge & alone to run things!! Geez! I don't mind the Hidoko character though...IF she's still alive!
The latest season is ..... Way too many mistakes. Hand guns with no recoil. Magazines with max 15 rounds now suddenly 30+. Seriously? Why do you have to bring in faith, regligion? Flogging a dead horse can only happen so many times. In your episode 5, the woman goes to pray because while on surveillance, really? The guy opens the elevator doors with his bare hands, sure. The blast doesn't knock the woman out while running to the elevator? Episode 6 the bus eventually explodes, all the windows nearby does not blow out, again, seriously? Either fire your writers or get realistic, but currently this BS is going to blow up in your faces.

I watched the crossover (call it the NCIS:LA premiere) last season between the two NCIS casts and really enjoyed it. Chris O'Donnell has grown up and yet, there is still that juvenile offender on the loose quality to him. Teaming him up with LL Cool J was a stroke of genius. They play off of each other so well. Pulling in Oscar winner Linda Hunt to play Hetty was a masterstroke. This show is well cast and the writing is solid. I have to disagree with other reviewers about Adam Jamal Craig and Daniela Ruah. I think they put in very solid performances as supporting team members. And Barrett Foa is perfect as the somewhat geeky technical assistance. All in all, a fun show to watch. I look forward to it marking as many seasons as it's forerunner, NCIS.

It took a while to get me interested in this series. Having been a long-time NCIS fan, I felt obligated to give it a fair shake. After the first few episodes, I felt bored and wondering if I should keep watching. Maybe it was because I was preoccupied when NCIS: LA would air. However, after settling down and focusing on the episodes, mainly the one where Dom gets kidnapped, I felt like they've hit their stride. There's no doubt this is a completely different show than the original NCIS. That's what makes it tolerable. They're not trying to copycat the other like the CSIs did in my opinion. They've got humor. They've got crimes they're trying to solve. They've slowly gotten some chemistry. Keep in mind, Shane Brennan is running both shows and he has yet to disappoint me on the original. They're in good hands and hopefully, they'll get even better. The first NCIS had a few bumps in the road during the first season and hit their stride in Season 2.
I used to love this show. I watch them all. But the past few years have catered to woke BS. Every other episode shows the bad guy as a white supremacist or an incell. Just branch out. The story is getting old.

Very entertaining, topical, fast action program. terrific cast, no weak players, and lots of interesting personal dynamics between the team, also plenty of comedy moments, smart slick writing, highly entertaining. the stories are typically self contained with just some elements of references back to previous episodes, but these are usually explained so it can be enjoyed even if you missed the earlier episode. The violence is not too graphic and the emphasis is on being smarter than the bad guy, rather than being more brutal. the stories are topical, and reflect the many terrorist threats which now exist. The story is also fast paced and there is an emphasis on technology which is interesting.
Having a hard time continuing on with the show. Still watch it for the Callen/Hanna interactions. Don't really care one way or the other for Kensi/Deeks but absolutely cannot bear to watch Nell and Eric any longer. How NCIS would continue to employ a moron like Eric is beyond me.

I used to enjoy this show but since the introduction of Mosley it has gone downhill rapidly. Her acting is wooden and she appears to be copying Linda Hunt's character. I do not know Nia Long as a actress, she is probably a good actress but find her acting here very wooden and fake. The writers are also trying to find something for her character to do so she seems to pop in the most strangest of places with the weakest of reasons to be there???? Grainger was not in every episode and when he did appear it was for a legitimate reason.
I do believe this series has lost its way..... you need to go back to the drawing board.

As I said in the title is this show is one of the best spinoffs that I've seen in a long time. It has good action, good humor and very exciting, possibly more exciting that the original. However after Granger left or Martin Ferreo passed away I've kind of lost interest, especially when they brought that horrible woman, Mosley on to take his place. Since she is ice cold, stuck up and wants to seperate the team, it's just not the same. I hope Mosley will be fired from NCIS cause I think that she just a terrible character and the team being seperated will ruin the show. I also don't care for Callen dating Anna but that's another story. Still, I don't hate the show it's just hate Mosley (Nia Long).

I love this show because it's so different to the original as in my opinion it is too procedural and I just never got that invested in the characters.
Whereas NCIS LA is totally different. This show has a 24/Scorpion feel to it. It doesn't just deal with homicides but drug cartels, terrorists, kidnapping etc. They often have cases that take them overseas, threaten their lives or nation security and are always going undercover as they are a covert branch of NCIS.
The characters have interesting back stories, especially Callen and Hetty. The introduction of Marty Deeks at the end of season 1 was genius and created a comedic element as well. Kensi is a great character as well and I like the nerds, Eric and Nell.
So in my opinion this show has everything. Yes it's procedural in nature but has lots of back stories and arcs each season. You really become invested in the characters which I think is important in a tv show as you care about them and want to watch them develop.
The only reason I haven't given it 10 stars is because season 1 isn't as good as the rest and then most of season 9 is subpar but gets better towards the end of the season and then season 10 has been good. I'm excited for season 11.

You have ruined NCIS LA. The new agents do not fit in. Callen needs to be with Sam. Kilbride is good. Why do you take a show that is great and ruin it. If it is not broke don't fix it.

NCIS:Los Angeles was something I wasn't expecting to like. At first, it was rather rocky, with some sluggishly paced and unoriginal stories, clichés in the writing and characters that didn't come into their shell for a bit. Over time though, while it is not as good as the original series NCIS:Naval Crimimal Investigative Service, it has gotten better.
The series is handsome to look at, and the music is memorable and clever. The writing, pace and stories have gotten better and more interesting, and the characters more absorbing. When it comes to the acting, Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J, two actors that I initially thought "no way is this going to work" are surprisingly good, and casting Linda Hunt I agree as the show's most interesting character to date is a masterstroke.
Overall, far from perfect but over time it has gotten better after a rocky start. 7/10 Bethany Cox

Used to love this show, it had more levity than the original even when the stories seemed a bit stale. I understand Linda Hunt cannot due a weekly procedural anymore but would still like to see her a little more often. Gerald McRaney has done a fantastic job filling her shoes so her loss hasn't created too big of a hole. The problem with show now is Roundtree and Namazi they are both bad actors that add very little to the the show. Neither one of the characters has ever been any good. Namazi whines way too much and Roundtree is just blah. Individually and as a team they are ruining the show. I hope the show runners realize this sooner rather than later and get rid of those two and replace them with something watchable.

It's time to bring Heddy back. Nia Long isn't a bad actress but she doesn't fit in this role. We watch this show every week even though it doesn't have much depth but we do find it entertaining. Lates since Nia Long has been their leader, I don't like this show at all. Fix the cast and get back to what made this fun to watch. Find another job for Nia to do where she does fit. Until then, we will probably watch another show instead.
I only just started watching it from March 2020 where I watched all 11 seasons in about a month. And now I am hooked I absolutely love it. It's got comedy and drama and very talented actors and actresses. Can't wait for more seasons to come.
As a recent viewer (who's been catching up from Season 1), I've found the development of the series interesting. G and Sam are a terrific buddy pair, and I liked Kensi more at the beginning of the series than as Deeks's girlfriend (the whole hugging thing is way out of control). My main criticisms of the show are that the writers can't seem to keep track of the characters' histories, that the whole OSP seems to be getting more and more disorderly, and that the whole "Densi" thing is impacting the story lines to the detriment of the series.
G and Sam are interesting characters, and I like the way the writers present small tidbits of their personal lives; however, trying to make Sam buddies with Deeks and Granger (seriously?) just isn't true to his character. No relationship is stronger than that between G & Sam. I liked the episodes dealing with G's background; Chris is terrific in the role of G. I also like that Sam is a former SEAL, a Muslim, married and has kids; it humanizes him. These two are the sexiest. Kensi has an interesting background, and as the only woman on an elite team, I expected her to be a little slower in succumbing to Deeks' "charm." Deeks is my least favorite team member: he's whiny, unprofessional, juvenile, and reminds me of a Smurf.
I loved the early scenes between Hetty and G; their relationship made the show. I'm not as keen about how Hetty's character has evolved (less like "M" & more like a dorm mother), and I don't like that Granger is becoming more of a full-time character and that there's less conflict between him and Hetty (he seems to have taken over some of Hetty's duties). Also, putting Granger in the field is laughable; Miguel's a good actor, but he's not an action guy.
I would like to see more of Anna in Season 8. G deserves a love interest--but I hope, if they keep her, she & G have a more interesting relationship than "Densi." "Densi" is just boring (sicky sweet & cute like two co-eds). It also seems odd that this relationship wasn't discouraged by Hetty; it is unprofessional and could pose a serious risk to the rest of the team. If Kensi and Deeks do get engaged or married, Deeks could go back to his former profession of being a lawyer; I'd much rather have Kensi remain on the team. And as far as the rumors about showing Deeks' "dark side" in Season 8--really? He'd just be an angry Smurf. lol
I also hope they have some "darker" stories: Military, Harimoto, Kalstein, and Gemmill (as well as Shane) wrote some terrific episodes.
