Fox is going all-in on its first-year medical drama Doc.
The network has renewed the series, starring Molly Parker, for a second season — and the order is an old-school, 22-episode season, showing a vote of confidence after solid early returns in the ratings. Doc is averaging about 2.3 million same-day viewers, per Nielsen, but grows substantially with streaming on Hulu and other delayed viewing. Fox says the pilot episode, which aired Jan. 7, has hit 16 million viewers across all platforms (including on-air repeats).
Sony Pictures Television and Fox Entertainment Studios produce Doc. Barbie Kligman is the showrunner and executive produces with Hank Steinberg and Erwin Stoff.
“We are thrilled that audiences have embraced season one of Doc,” Fox Television Network president Michael Thorn said in a statement. “Barbie and Hank have done an outstanding job bringing one of the most emotionally powerful series on television to life. After being upped to contract status in February 2022, actor Tajh Bellow (Tj Ashford) is now off contract at “General Hospital.”
According to an update to the show’s end credits on Friday, February 21, Bellow’s name was removed from the contract cast list after previously appearing between cast members Kristina Wagner (Felicia Scorpio) and Tanisha Harper (Jordan Ashford).
The change in status for Bellow doesn’t come as a surprise considering the actor seemingly gave an indication early last week when he took to his Instagram, saying, “I know a lot of my fans are wondering what’s next for Tj, but before I speak to that I wanted to celebrate all that we’ve accomplished together.”
Bellow’s post highlighted his appreciation for all the support he received during last year’s tumultuous storyline which saw Tj and Molly (Kristen Vaganos) lose their daughter following a traumatic accident involving their surrogate,...

9-1-1‘s Athena Grant (Angela Bassett) is embarking on another cruise. Hopefully it won’t end like her nearly disastrous honeymoon cruise with husband Bobby (Peter Krause) when their ship capsized in the Season 7 premiere of 9-1-1. This time she’ll board The Odyssey and will meet up with the cruise ship’s Dr. Max Bankman (Joshua Jackson) in a special March 20 crossover episode for Ryan Murphy’s 9-1-1 and Doctor Odyssey.
The meet-up occurs during Casino Week aboard The Odyssey when “unexpected guest Athena Grant (Bassett) suspects two passengers are targeting the ship’s vault. Enlisting Max’s help, Athena raises the stakes in a dangerous game where not everyone will end up with a winning hand,” per the episode’s logline.
It’s not uncommon to see crossovers on Murphy’s shows, such as 9-1-1‘s Oliver Stark (Buck), Aisha Hinds (Hen), and Ryan Guzman (Eddie...

9-1-1 is becoming a major franchise for ABC. The same way Law and Order and One Chicago have done wonders for NBC's weekly lineup, 9-1-1 has done for its network. It's why ABC just ordered a second spinoff set in Nashville. Don't worry, though. There's more exciting news for 9-1-1 fans this week.
Variety confirmed that 9-1-1 will be staging its first ever crossover with an outside show. Instead of teaming up with, say 9-1-1: Lone Star, the first responder drama will cross paths with another Ryan Murphy helmed show, Doctor Odyssey. The crossover will take place on March 20, and see the title doctor solve a case alongside 9-1-1 stalwart Athena Grant (Angela Bassett).

There is some new 911 spin-off news. We officially have another spin-off series, and it will air on ABC.
ABC has picked up the spin-off, with eyes on the 2025–2026 TV season. It’s not clear whether it will premiere in the fall or the midseason just yet. That’s likely dependent on the casting, the storyline, and the season order.
Where will the new 911 spin-off be set?
When we heard that there was a new spin-off series in the works, the big question was where it would be set. New York, Seattle, and even Hawaii seemed like potential big choices, but ABC and the gang behind 911 have chosen somewhere different.
911: Nashville is the title. Yes, we’re heading to the home of country music, which is sure to bring some exciting drama to the series. Will we see that one of the firefighters or dispatchers has a secret dream to become a country singer?...

Athena Grant, meet Dr. Max Bankman.
On Thursday, March 20, the Ryan Murphy-created worlds of “9-1-1,” starring Angela Bassett as LAPD sergeant Grant, and “Doctor Odyssey,” led by Joshua Jackson as on-board cruise doctor Bankman, will collide in a special crossover episode of the soapy, seafaring medical drama.
Continuing “Doctor Odyssey’s” premise of each episode being centered around a different themed cruise, the action takes place during Casino Week aboard The Odyssey, and “unexpected guest Athena Grant suspects two passengers are targeting the ship’s vault,” the logline explains. “Enlisting Max’s help, Athena raises the stakes in a dangerous game where not everyone will end up with a winning hand.”
While “9-1-1” fans might be shocked to see Bassett’s Grant board a ship so soon after her and Bobby’s (Peter Krause) harrowing honeymoon cruise disaster (a three-episode emergency!) in Season 7 — but both shows hail from the house of Murphy,...

ABC is taking the 911 franchise to Music City.
The network has placed a series order for 911: Nashville, marking the third show in the first-responder franchise. The pickup comes on the heels of 911: Lone Star ending on Fox.
As with the other shows in the 911-verse, 911: Nashville hails from 20th Television and Ryan Murphy Television. Murphy, Tim Minear and Rashad Raisani will serve as executive producers and writers; Brad Falchuk and 911 star Angela Bassett are also EPs. Casting and other details will be announced later.
Ideas for a third series in the franchise have been percolating for some time, with Las Vegas floated as a potential setting. Murphy said last fall that he and Minear were working on a script for a third show, with Nashville ending up as the preferred location.

ABC’s next “9-1-1” spinoff will be set in Nashville, the network announced on Thursday. The third series in the first responder franchise has been picked up for a full season for 2025-2026.
20th Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television will produce the series. Ryan Murphy, Tim Minear and Rashad Raisani will serve as executive producers and writers, with Brad Falchuk and Angela Bassett also executive producing.
Raisani previously told TheWrap that he had hoped to launch a spinoff featuring fan favorite couple Tk (Ronen Rubinstein) and Carlos (Rafael L. Silva) from “9-1-1: Lone Star,” which just ended its five-season run on Fox. He had also left the door open for a New York-based series that would follow Rob Lowe’s “Lone Star” character Owen Strand to his hometown.

After the cancellation of “9-1-1: Lone Star” at Fox, there’s a new series coming to Ryan Murphy’s emergency responder franchise: “9-1-1: Nashville,” set to premiere on ABC during the 2025-2026 season.
The news follows Variety‘s October report that a new “9-1-1” spinoff was in the works.
Though plot and casting details are yet to be shared, it can be assumed that the new “9-1-1” spinoff, like the flagship series and “Lone Star, will follow the work and personal lives of a team of first responders, this time in Tennessee.
“9-1-1” was created by Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear and premiered on Fox in 2018 before moving to ABC for its seventh season in 2024. Currently on its eighth season, the series is set in Los Angeles and stars Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Oliver Stark, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ryan Guzman, Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi and Gavin McHugh.

General Hospital fans have been wondering what has happened to Tj Ashford (Tajh Bellow). Tj has not been seen or heard from in some time.
Since Tj And Molly Lansing Davis (Kristen Vaganos) aren’t getting along, he has been nowhere to be seen. Tj has certainly had an emotional year, had he gone on a vacation or is he just hiding in the wings of the hospital until he’s needed?
Tajh Bellow Looks Back Over The Past Year
Tajh posted on his Instagram on Tuesday to offer fans a bit of an update. Bellows looked back over the emotional year that his character Tj has experienced this year.
First Tj learned that their surrogate had lost the baby she was carrying. This was followed by losing his daughter with Kristina Corinthos (Kate Mansi) who he and Molly were supposed to raise.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, “General Hospital” star Tajh Bellow (Tj Ashford) looked back on an emotional year in which his character has been through a trying period of his life, particularly the loss of a child, as his daughter with Molly (Kristen Vaganos) sadly passed away following a traumatic accident involving their surrogate, Molly’s sister, Kristina (Kate Mansi), that later caused an initial rift in Tj and Molly’s relationship.
“What a year we had,” opened Bellow in his post, which included a collage of images highlighting key moments from last year. “Playing Dr. Tj Ashford has been a groundbreaking experience for my career. Pouring into Tj as he poured into me has been illuminating in many regards.”

Bellow also acknowledged several media outlets that have extensively covered his daytime career since making his debut on the series in 2018, including Soap Opera Network.

With 911: Lone Star coming to an end, there are a few stars of that show that would be great jumping to the One Chicago universe!
911: Lone Star fans are let down that the show has come to an end after five seasons. Its last run of episodes was good, and it closed out, giving all the characters a warm exit that had them stepping into great new lives. There’s a question now of what’s next for the actors and how the One Chicago universe offers them some good options.
Rob Lowe and Gina Torres are unlikely to come on board given their bigger name status and more in demand. However, it’d be great if One Chicago could poach some of the other actors. Even better would be casting them in different roles than their 911: Lone Star ones to stand out. These are the best...

What’s not to like about Wild Cards Season 2 Episode 2?
We had Ellimax two-stepping, Ally Sheedy, and Martin Sheen. Yee-haw on all fronts, including the Ellimax angst that the series delivers.
“Once a Con a Time in the West” is a fun installment and has enough Yellowstone vibes to make a girl smile more than I did watching Yellowstone Season 5, but that’s neither here nor there.
( Justine Yeung/The CW) Wild Cards Channels Yellowstone with a Ranch Rivalry Case
The case is an opportunity to see another side to Cole, who has an endless bag of talents. It’s not something exclusive to Max, which is part of what makes their partnership intriguing.
Cole can ride a horse like a cover model in a romance novel, and I love it. It was endearing as Max was out of her element on the ranch, and she seemed to be afraid of horses.

There’s a change coming to the broadcast schedule tonight, Monday, Feb. 10. It’s time to look at what will air on primetime tonight.
You didn’t miss a post yesterday about what’s on. While usually we do post one for Sundays, there wasn’t much point last night. It was all about the Super Bowl, and no network was realistically going up against that.
However, tonight is a different story. With 911: Lone Star wrapping up its story last week, it’s time to see what will take its timeslot. On top of that, The CW, NBC, and other networks get into the full swing of the new year.
Extracted, The Hunting Party, and more
Fox will bring the new series Extracted to Monday nights. This is a reality series that brings a survivalist element to it. Family members watch has their family contestants attempt to survive the night in the wilderness.

Spoilers: This post contains details about the series finale of 9-1-1: Lone Star
Rob Lowe has come off his latest six-year role with an immense respect for firefighters and first responders.
After 9-1-1: Lone Star ended its five-season run last week, the 6x Golden Globe nominee said he wouldn’t rule out reprising the character of Captain Owen Strand in an upcoming spin-off or the Los Angeles-set parent series currently in its eighth season.
“Listen, I never say never to anything, and it’s a character that means a lot to me,” Lowe told People. “I have such respect and admiration for first responders, and it’s an honor whenever I can bring their stories to the screen, so you never know.”

Ahead of its fifth season airing on Fox, the network announced that 9-1-1: Lone Star would be ending. The final episodes certainly wrapped up stories and went out with a bang (asteroid and potential nuclear meltdown). What’s the latest we know about its future? Read on for everything that has been said. Will 9-1-1: Lone Star return for Season 6? As of now, no. The fifth season, which wrapped on Monday, February 3, was its last. A Season 6 has not been picked up anywhere. Could 9-1-1: Lone Star be revived? It’s always possible, but it’s not looking likely. “Oh, my heart says, ‘Please, God, yes, please, please, please.’ And my brain says, ‘Probably not,'” co-showrunner Rashad Raisani...

There isn’t a lot of time to work through a new series. So, if you just want an event, then you’ll want to turn to the most recent One Chicago crossover event. The three episodes are more like a big movie, and you don’t need to know too much about the various characters to get into the storylines.

911: Lone Star’s showrunner is speaking up about the possible spin-off idea that could have a different tone than the main series!
911: Lone Star fans are still let down that the series is ending after five seasons. It did go out on a high note for the characters: Tommy recovered from her cancer, Judd became the new captain, Marjan was pregnant, Tk and Carlos had adopted their foster son with Tk taking a break from the job, Mateo’s citizenship was fast-tracked and Owen had become New York City’s Fire Chief.
A 911 spin-off is in the works
While fans were still hoping for at least one more year, it was a good way to wrap the series up. This won’t be the end of the 911 world, as plans are underway for another spin-off. We don’t know specifics yet but speaking to TV Insider, showrunner Rashad Raisani shared some hints.

The 911: Lone Star series finale made sure everyone got their happy ending, but we certainly were missing one face in particular. Despite not getting to get one final glimpse of Grace Ryder before the series ended, here’s how the show reached a conclusion for Captain Owen Strand and the rest of the 126 fire crew.
Almost immediately, the episode opened with the events of an emergency alert discussing an upcoming asteroid strike. A professor named Dr. Chalmers was discussing a nuclear reactor located on a campus university when he decided to leave to get a treat. However, the alert sent him back to the control room in order to prevent a possible nuclear reaction.
Unfortunately, he slipped on a piece of wet floor and he was critically injured just as the asteroid hit. While everyone survived the asteroid strike and the aftermath of a vicious shockwave, they were unable...

This article contains spoilers for the series finale of “9-1-1: Lone Star.”
“9-1-1: Lone Star,” aired its series finale on Monday night and, sadly, two potential spinoffs at Fox never came to pass: One starring couple Tk (Ronen Rubinstein) and Carlos (Rafael Silva) (also know by their fandom nickname “Tarlos”) and one centered around Owen Strand (Rob Lowe) in New York.
“Lone Star” showrunner Rashad Raisani told TheWrap that he was “desperate” to get the Tarlos series off the ground and hopes that it might still happen. He also explained that one of the reasons he didn’t kill off any of the main characters in the Austin-set series is that he hopes they can show up in ABC’s upcoming “9-1-1” offshoot, which is currently in development.
“9-1-1” moved to ABC for Season 7 and the new spinoff will also be set up at ABC, but Fox was not interested in continuing the franchise.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the 9-1-1: Lone Star series finale “Homecoming.”] “That sounds like us, two civilization ending problems descending on us at the same time,” was Jim Parrack‘s reaction to the 9-1-1: Lone Star series finale script, which sees the 126 dealing with an asteroid coming to Austin, then a nuclear reactor on the verge of a meltdown. But even once those problems are taken care of, there’s the matter of wrapping up the characters’ stories. For Tommy (Gina Torres), who found out earlier in the season she has cancer, that was finding out whether or not she’d survive. First, she has to make it past jumping in to help during the nuclear emergency. “It’s her last hurrah. She’s going to go out fighting for herself and fighting for everybody else,” Torres tells us as part of our 9-1-1: Lone Star aftershow, First Response. “If she can help, it’...

Fox’s popular drama “9-1-1: Lone Star” concluded its run Monday night with a series finale that defied typical television conventions, blending massive disaster scenarios with hopeful character resolutions.
The episode featured a dramatic backdrop of an asteroid strike and nuclear threat in Austin, yet ultimately provided optimistic endings for the show’s main characters. Executive Producer Rashad Raisani intentionally designed the finale to leave viewers with a sense of hope.
“I wanted people to leave with a sense of hope,” Raisani explained. “It’s sad enough that the show is ending, in my opinion, too soon. Why punch people in the stomach on their way out the door?”
Key character arcs found meaningful closure. Tommy Vega (Gina Torres) emerged from her breast cancer battle in remission, with a touching scene featuring her late husband Charles (Derek Webster). Paramedic Mateo (Julian Works) received fast-tracked citizenship after heroic actions during the crisis,...

Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers from Monday’s series finale of Fox’s “9-1-1: Lone Star,” titled “Homecoming.”
After five seasons of life-saving, it’s time to thank the 126 for their service and say goodbye to “9-1-1: Lone Star.” On the series finale episode of the Ryan Murphy-created Fox first-responder drama, a spinoff of the series “9-1-1” (which now airs on ABC), Owen Strand (Rob Lowe) saves the day — and all of Austin, Texas — by deactivating a nuclear reactor that’s been set off by an asteroid collision.
It’s the big bang ending that “9-1-1” franchise fans expected from a show that prides itself on its increasingly wild emergencies, and a heart-wrenching one until it’s final moments. Following a brief fake-out, it’s revealed Owen survived his injuries sustained during the emergency, and has left the 126 to return to New York. The station mourns the loss...

Spoiler Alert: This post contains details about Monday’s series finale of 9-1-1: Lone Star.
With 9-1-1: Lone Star answering its final call Monday, the series finale was a particularly emotional ride-along for star Gina Torres.
Sitting down with showrunner Rashad Raisani, the actress behind Station 126 paramedic’s Captain Tommy Vega told Deadline it’s “so rare” to be part of such a talented TV ensemble cast, as they both mourned the end of the spinoff after five seasons.
“I think it was right on the money for Tommy,” said Torres of her character’s farewell. “None of that surprised me. When I read it, I thought, ‘Yeah, of course, she’s a soldier.’ She’s gonna go out the way. She came in fighting and doing what she can. That’s what first responders do.”

[This story contains major spoilers from the series finale of 9-1-1: Lone Star, “Homecoming.”]
Gina Torres has made a career out of playing, as she puts it, “overly accomplished, standalone” women. But when her old friend Tim Minear — with whom she had worked on the cult favorite Firefly — called in the early months of the pandemic to offer her the lead role opposite Rob Lowe in 9-1-1: Lone Star, Torres could hardly believe her good fortune. Not only was she getting to play a wife and mother for the first time in her three-decade career, but she was also portraying a woman who decides to go back to work as a paramedic captain to support her family during the pandemic.
“She’s an incredible example of what women can accomplish and the space they can take up in the world,” Torres tells The Hollywood Reporter of her character, Tommy Vega. “So often you’re told, ‘You don’t get to have it all.

It’s the end of the world as we know it… or is it? That was the big question heading into the series finale of 911: Lone Star with an asteroid threatening the area with a potentially doomsday-level threat.
As the series finale opens, Carlos makes his way to the 911 dispatch center which is preparing for the impact of the incoming asteroid and the overflow of calls likely to come through once the asterid makes impact. Moments before the asteroid strikes, T.K. calls Carlos but not to say goodbye but because he’s been talking with Judd about the adoption agency rejection to fuel them to keep fighting for Jonah. T.K. says he has the perfect plan and will tell him when he next seems him as they each say I love you before preparing for impact and getting under the trucks for safety.

Hey, "9-1-1: Lone Star" fans. We hope you guys totally enjoyed tonight's episode 12, especially since it was indeed the finale episode of not only this current season 5, but also the entire series itself. Yep, unfortunately, it has been officially confirmed that this current season 5 was indeed the very last season of 9-1-1: Lone Star. According to the folks over at Deadline.com, this cancellation was announced back in September of 2024. During the cancellation announcement, the Fox TV Network President Michael Thorn had some nice things to say about the show and its staff stating, "“From the start, fans have followed the heroic and deeply moving stories of the men and women who make up Austin’s 126, so a huge thanks to one of the greatest creative teams in all of television Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear for creating one of the most action-packed dramas anywhere.

It’s the end of an era for Fox. On Feb. 3, the network that first introduced audiences to the 911 franchise will bid farewell to the franchise, possibly for good, as 911: Lone Star signs off the air following a five-season run on Fox.
After five amazing seasons and over 70 episodes, 911: Lone Star comes to an end on Feb. 3 with the final episode of its current fifth season, “Homecoming.” The finale brings about the end of our time with Austin’s 126, where we’ve spent the last several years watching the men and women of the 126 protecting and serving the Austin community.
The good news is that 911: Lone Star is one of the lucky few shows that was given time to naturally bring its storylines to a close with a planned series finale; however, that doesn’t make it any easier to bid farewell to the 126 team – especially...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 Episode 11 “Impact.”] First of all, we’re not even going to entertain the possibility that 9-1-1: Lone Star may have just killed off Tommy (Gina Torres) in the series’ penultimate episode. She’s a fighter! But it certainly does look that way… It’s been a rough final season of the show for Torres, she admits in TV Insider’s 9-1-1: Lone Star after show, First Response — and a “lonely” one. “It’s been incredibly lonely being away from everybody. I remember when I was starting out, Julia Roberts was doing an interview about Steel Magnolias, and when everybody else was shooting her funeral, it was the only time that she had been separated from them and I didn’t really get it and how lonely and sort of out of it she felt,” she shares. “And then I was shooting all of this whole, literally ...
