Contrary to popular belief, Foster's Beer is hard to find in Australia as it is not one of the more preferred beers.

Goofs
Jessica tells Kookaburra's local historian that her great-uncle Eamonn McGill was her grandmother's brother. "Brother-in-law" would be more genealogically accurate, as "McGill" would only be the grandmother's surname by marriage.

Murder down under, kangaroos and Jessica Fletcher

JB is checking in to Kookaburra Downs to find out if she is related to the aforementioned Magill Valley founder Eamon Magill, and to inherit 130,000 acres of land currently used for sheep grazing She asks if her lawyer Simon Cathcart has checked in yet, and hotel owner and mayor Tim Jarvis tells her he has, and also there's a message from local librarian/historian John Molen for Jess to come see him when she is ready.

The locals aren't happy when Jessica arrives to claim her property, believing her to be in cahoots with a powerful mining company. Evidently someone is so displeased by Jessica's presence that they're willing to commit murder--twice. First death being the lawyer who was meant to meet her.

A change of scenery and some humour injects some enjoyment in this standard MSW plot - a ruffian gets hanged, the last person who had a fight with him gets arrested, but Jessica thinks he's innocent.
