I had to get this game since I had a Gamecube and it was the first time I've ever seen a Godzilla fighter game like this one. The game starts off with the invasion of Godzilla's rivals and enemies who are attacking different parts of Japan. Then an announcement from an alien race has announced that they seized mind control on the monsters for world domination. And no it's up to Godzilla and the remaining monsters to stop all of the brain washed monsters from destroying the whole globe. From Osaka to L.A. to London to the Mothership. It's an all out brawl for everyone's favorite radioactive dinosaur.
The game serves as the first ever fully 3-D game of the Godzilla franchise. With over 11 playable characters and 8 different locations. Godzilla: Destroy all Monsters Melee is highly playable for more than 3 weeks. Once you play it all, you'll wish there be a lot more to do in the game.

The games main story mode has a humorous introduction as a rather strange looking alien declares they have control over earth's monsters and that it is useless to resist. Then the camera was supposed to fade and the alien is like "are we still on"? That type of humor is needed more in this game as is better level development or perhaps more monsters. If the game could have just let you control Godzilla and fight levels where at the end you fight one of the other monsters as the boss of the level it could have been a more fun game. They have a game like that for the Nintendo and while the graphics are bad it is more fun to play. The game is Godzilla, why not have him progress through a level then have an epic battle with one of his adversaries? I would not mind the brawler format so much if they would have more monsters. Mothra, Hedorah, and Space Godzilla could have all been playable characters and there are more than those in the Godzilla universe so why not add them? The fighting is also a bit weak as in the movies Godzilla's ultimate attack is is radioactive fire breath...here it is not very strong at all being one of the weaker attacks. Still, I am a Godzilla or Gojira fan and I enjoyed playing the game for the most part. It is nice using Godzilla to pound my way through the other monsters, with a bit of tweaking this game could have been could have been something special.
This is one of the best Godzilla games that I have ever played. I did wish for more monsters in it, such as Space Godzilla, Meltdown Godzilla, Jet Jaguar and Mothra, but their choices are okay. I liked beating up all of the individual monsters and seeing all of my favorite monsters. I am more of a fan of Rodan, Godzilla 90's, Mecha Godzilla, Mecha and Normal King Ghidorah, and Gigan. Hedorah (the Smog Monster) makes an appearance, but is useless. I'd like to see him in a battle (I'd pick Godzilla and re-enact Godzilla vs. Hedorah). But overall, the plot is interesting and the monsters look good. I just wanted more monsters on it.

Another great Godzilla game has came this way again! "Godzilla, Destroy all Monsters Melee) is not one to dissapoint you all the way (unlike the sorry first Godzilla Generation game on the Dreamcast, UGH!).
It begins with a nostalgic FMV sequence of Godzilla, Gaigan, Megalon, Ghidora, Anguilas and Rodan attacking some city in the USA (I think). Then we also learn that some strange alien/robot guy wants to take over the Earth and control every Kaiju they could get their hands on. Only you, the monster you take in control can snap things in shape.
Excellent addicting Godzilla entry indeed. My only one complaint was that Destroyah and Orgah cannot change shape. Oh well, we all can't have everything in the world, but most everything I wanted was here *LOL*
