Alternate versions

The UK cinema version was cut by the BBFC to edit assorted fatal blows including groin kicks.

The original US versions cut two scenes due to 20th Century Fox's concern that Hugh Keays-Byrne's "Australian" accent in these scenes would be indecipherable to American audiences (despite the fact that Keays-Byrne was English). These were:

• Morrie Grosse's "55 Days at Peking" rant with Fang at a gas station.
• Grosse questioning Caroline about Fang's disappearance.
