The number and knocker on the outside of Number 2's front door change style and position both within and between episodes.
There is inconsistency about the location of the village, and whether it is on an island or not, perhaps deliberately: according to The Chimes of Big Ben (1967) it is located in the vicinity of Lithuania and Poland, on the Baltic Sea; according to Many Happy Returns (1967) it is on the coast of Morocco or southern Portugal, possibly an island; it is implied in Fall Out (1968) that the village is in England near London, in Kent county.
In the opening sequence, No 6 drives up to his home. There's a white car on the opposite side of the street. When the black car follows No. 6, the white car has vanished.
In the opening sequence, the letter X is typed across the prisoner's photograph, but the typewriter typebar for the letter H is moving. The typebar for the letter X is at the far right of the frame.
During the intro sequence, when No 6 is getting out of his car, a trapped hair can be seen in the bottom left of the shot.
It was not always possible to mask the existence of civilization near Portmeirion, Wales, where much of the series was filmed. In several episodes neighboring towns and farms can be glimpsed. However, it should be noted the exact size of The Village is never specifically indicated, and there are numerous episodes that indicate it is significantly larger than the core settlement. Occasionally the Welsh flag can just about be glimpsed on the Village flag pole too.
