According to an ad in the Chicago Tribune, the MGM film, The Scarlet Coat, opened at the Monroe theatre (Dearborn & Monroe) on Wednesday, October 12, 1955, on a double-bill (the other film being The Bar Sinister, a film about a dog, also from MGM). Later that same month, on Friday, October 28, the film opened in the "nabes."
