Review of Ronin: Alternative Ending

There isn't much to be said about this alternative ending conceived for "Ronin". It just doesn't work, and I'm glad test audiences rejected it and thanks to that director John Frankenheimer opted for the scripted ending that was used on the actual film. This one closes with the fate of Deirdre (Natasha McElhone) after the whole business of her group trying to get the mysterious suitcase, either helping each other or betraying each other. It's a masterful film, Frankenheimer's very last classic. This alternative ending might work for those who like dark conclusions and/or dislike loose ends. Watchable. 6/10.
