

BritBox on Wednesday revealed the cast and a first look image from its adaptation of Elizabeth George’s Inspector Lynley crime novels, as production gets underway in Ireland on the four-part series.
Starring Leo Suter (Vikings: Valhalla) and Sofia Barclay (Ted Lasso) and described as a “thrilling, sophisticated crime drama,” Lynley follows an unconventional detective duo while exploring timely themes of gender, class and ethics.

Today, BritBox shared a first-look image from the new adaptation of Elizabeth George’s New York Times best-selling Inspector Lynley crime novels, announcing the start of production on the four-part series, Lynley, from Colin Callender’s award-winning production company, Playground.
Leo Suter (Vikings: Valhalla) as Di Tommy Lynley and Sofia Barclay (Ted Lasso) as DS Barbara Havers star as the unconventional detective duo in the thrilling, sophisticated crime drama currently shooting in Ireland. The series will explore timely themes of gender, class, and ethics, all while under the pressure of seeking justice.

The BBC has picked up BritBox International’s Lynley adaptation, with BritBox unveiling first-look image, rounding out cast and rolling cameras.
Deadline revealed the adaptation of the hit Elizabeth George novels several months back starring Leo Suter as the eponymous lead and Sofia Barclay as DS Barbara Havers. At that point, the BBC was in talks to acquire the show, which have now completed. The series will premiere on BritBox in the U.S. and Canada and on BBC iPlayer and BBC One in the UK, with a tentative 2025 air date. It is produced by All Creatures Great and Small maker Playground.
Rounding out the cast of Lynley are Daniel Mays, Niamh Walsh, Michael Workeye and Joshua Sher, while cameras have started rolling in Ireland.
