Philip Prince, a Criminal Justice graduate of Northeastern University, left his position of 1 year as an Advertising Sales Executive for PR Week. Prince, who had dreamed of being a filmmaker since childhood, attempted to ignore the passion in order to do what everyone else expected of him. In 2011, Prince stepped out on faith and moved to New York to focus on fulfilling his dream of becoming a filmmaker.
Since his debut in the industry, Prince has established relationships and received direction from distinguished directors and producers including Spike Lee, Regina King, Barry Levinson, Peter Segal, Jason Sosnoff, Jason Sokoloff, Terrence Nance, Jason Schwatrzman, Hal Hartley, and Sean Fogel to name a few. Absorbing the skill and advice of these great filmmakers, Prince quickly developed his own edgy and unique style of filmmaking. Prince's extraordinary vision and penchant for learning quickly, solidified his status in the film industry. After working as a production assistant, Prince set his sights on the producer's chair. In order to fully grasp the different roles and have an accurate knowledge of the industry, Prince went on to work as a location manager, location scout, unit production manager and producer on projects such as "Ned Rifle" starring Aubrey Plaza, "Gabriel" starring Rory Culkin and several music videos and shorts. In 2020, Prince established Kings County Nobles, LLC, to produce music videos, commercials, short films, and feature films. During the short time since his entry to the industry, Prince has worked with several notable talents, from actors to musical artists, including H.E.R., Halsey, Al Pacino, Greta Gerwig, Emily VanCamp, Danny Glover. Bad Bunny, Terri Vaughn, Maluma, Dominique Fishback, Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson. The knowledge and experience he has gained over the years has been fundamental towards pursuing his upcoming projects. His determination and unwillingness to accept "no" for an answer has blessed Prince to quickly maneuver in an industry which thrives on overcoming challenges and which is allowing him to currently grow his production company.
Prince continues to strengthen his resume', experience, and exposure to the industry by selectively choosing projects that challenge him and allow him the freedom to go beyond customary choices so that his work can provoke others' thought and creativity. He continues to make contributions to the industry that will leave a lasting and cultural impact on filmmakers, actors, and audiences. Prince continuously seeks opportunities to expand his knowledge and expertise while refusing to compromise the standard of quality which the KCN brand carries.
Through his work, Prince's primary goal is to always be thought of as one who brings a new intensity in creativity to the screen. He tests the limits and dares his colleagues to tap into the areas of the industry that have been left unscathed. With his work, he transcends racial boundaries and geographical lines to affect widespread change. His interpersonal skills, coupled with his humility, passion and creativity have sealed Prince's recognition in the film industry. - 2021
