Benedict Cumberbatch Cast in Star Trek 2. J.J. Abrams‘ Star Trek 2 (2013) main villain has been a point of conjecture until Benedict Cumberbatch nabbed the role. Benedict Cumberbatch’s Star Trek 2 role (Untitled Star Trek Sequel at IMDb) is completely unspecified at this point. There is no word on whether he will be playing a human, an alien, an inter-dimensional being, nothing.

Benedict Cumberbatch is no stranger to landing leading roles in big-budget films or TV shows for that matter:

The Beverly Hills Film, TV & New Media Festival line-up of star-studded red carpet premieres, panels and honorary award recipients have been announced by Festival Director Donna Spangler. After an exceptional debut last year, this international event continues to be a true celebration of established and emerging talent and technologies in film, television and new media running from October 20-27, 2011.

The Opening Night Honorary Awards Ceremony will take place Thursday, Oct. 20 at the Roosevelt Hotel (7000 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood) benefiting The Finaza Foundation. It’s because is fuels the strong and captivating folklore aspect that encourages escapism for a couple of fantastical hours. But don’t be fooled by the fairytale synopsis of a fisherman named Syracuse, played by Colin Farrell as his usual devilishly cheeky self, who catches mermaid-style character Ondine (Alicja Bachleda-Curus) in his trawler net.

His daughter Annie (Alison Barry) comes to believe that the woman is a magical creature, while Syracuse falls helplessly in love. However like all fairy tales, enchantment and darkness go hand in hand.

Academy Award winner, Neil Jordan (The Crying Game, Breakfast on Pluto, The Brave One), serves as both director and writer for the movie.  Also starring Tony Curran, Stephen Rea, Tom Archdeacon, Dervla Kirwan, Emil Hostina, Don Wycherley and Norma Sheahan.

Ondine will hit limited theaters in the U.S. on June 4th, 2010.

The DeeDee Bigelow and Antonio Olivas project, The Perfect Serial Killer is now in the pre-production phase with a huge cast list announced. Currently, The Perfect Serial Killer is undergoing script revisions. As well, the project will feature Courtney Gains (Shadowheart), Brooke Lewis (Kinky Killers), and Katie Lohmann. A director for the project will be announced shortly. For now, an early concept poster is above with a full cast list below.

Ondine is the enchanting story of Syracuse (Colin Farrell), a lonely fisherman who one day pulls a beautiful woman named Ondine (Alicja Bachleda) out of the sea in his nets. His young daughter Annie is convinced that she is a "selkie" .a creature from Irish folklore much like a mermaid. Syracuse has his doubts, but as Ondine brings some luck and joy to his otherwise downcast life, he starts to come around as well.
