Soul group that started out as a doo-wop quintet led by singer Jerry Butler. Their breakthrough hit was "For Your Precious Love" (1958). A few years later, the group became a trio with singer-songwriter-guitarist Curtis Mayfield and singers Sam Gooden and Fred Cash. Their biggest hit was "It's All Right" (1963).
