“I’m a glass half-full motherfucker,” says Bert Kreischer.

I can practically hear him smiling through the phone as he discusses his upcoming Netflix special, “Lucky,” an aptly titled hour that sees the notorious party animal turned family man counting his blessings.

Just moments after articulating his reverence and appreciation for his fan base, the comedian, on a walk in Los Angeles, interrupts the interview to take a selfie with a stranger.

The special, Kreischer’s fourth for Netflix, debuts March 18. It features stories about his wife and daughters that are sometimes heartwarming, sometimes vulgar and often both at the same time.

But Kreischer is grateful for more than just his family. “I feel very lucky to be alive and working at this point,” he tells Variety when asked about the state of the industry. “TV and movies are about to explode in Hollywood, in a really fun and crazy way.

Creed have announced details of their 2025 Summer of ’99 and Beyond Festival, which will see the band co-headlining with fellow post-grunge heavyweights Nickelback. This year’s fest takes place July 18th and 19th at Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wisconsin.

By the time of Back in Action's climactic ending, the film tells a lot of jokes as an action comedy. A new image from Sinners reveals a bloody Michael B. Jordan. The upcoming horror movie, which follows twin brothers (both played by Jordan) returning to their hometown and finding it besieged by a sinister menace, is the first original movie written and directed by Creed and Black Panther filmmaker Ryan Coogler since 2013's Fruitvale Station. The Sinners cast also includes Hawkeye's Hailee Steinfeld, Skins' Jack O'Connell, Moses Jones' Wunmi Mosaku, The Batman's Jayme Lawson, CSI: Miami's Omar Benson Miller, and The Harder They Fall's Delroy Lindo.

Bright Eyes founder Conor Oberst has revealed himself to be one of Creed’s earliest haters. During a recent appearance on Rick Rubin and Malcolm Gladwell’s Broken Record podcast, the singer recalled his attempt at talking his former label out of releasing the oft-maligned band’s early music.

While sitting down with host Justin Richmond, Oberst remembered his days in the emo band Commander Venus during the mid-1990s. For their second album, 1997’s The Uneventful Vacation, the group was signed to Wind-up Records. He built a close relationship with the “eccentric” owners Alan and Diana Meltzer, who played him Creed’s music before it was released.

“They were sweet, but I remember them showing me Creed before it even came out,” Oberst said (via Exclaim!). “And I was like, ‘You guys — it sounds like a really bad Pearl Jam.'”

Despite his protestations, the Meltzers believed in Creed.

Creed have announced a Summer 2025 North American tour, reprising their highly successful “Summer of ’99” reunion run from this past summer.

Following their 2025 “Summer of ’99” cruise and an appearance at Stagecoach in April, Creed will kick off the summer tour on July 9th in Lexington, Kentucky. Dates run through August 20th in Calgary, Alberta, with rotating support from 3 Doors Down, Daughtry, Big Wreck, and Mammoth Wvh — all of whom supported portions of Creed’s 2024 reunion tour.

A Live Nation ticket pre-sale for select dates begins Thursday (December 10th) at 10 a.m. local time using the code Joy. General ticket sales start Friday (December 13th) at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.

“Thirty years in, it’s been a blessing to pick up right where we left off with longtime fans and to meet the next generation for the first time,” stated Scott Stapp via the band’s press release.

There are certain things you can expect to happen in the world of comic books. For example, the heroes will fight each other. at some point The X-Men and Avengers are at it again in Jed MacKay’s Avengers and two X-Men teams are fighting in MacKay’s X-Men and Gail Simone’s Uncanny X-Men. There's also the fact that someone will lose their powers (it was a whole thing in DC Comics Absolute Power). How often does that happen in comics, right?

Exclusive: Arianna Rivas is boarding Scott Derrickson’s Blumhouse/Universal sequel Black Phone 2.

The actress joins the original pic’s ensemble of 4x Oscar nominee Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, Jeremy Davies and Miguel Mora, with new addition Oscar nominee Demián Bichir.

Black Phone 2 was written by Cargill and Derrickson, who are also producing the film with Blumhouse’s Jason Blum. Universal and Blumhouse are producing with Crooked Highway Production. EP is Joe Hill. The pic is scheduled to open on Oct. 17, 2025.

The first movie, which grossed over $161M worldwide, and was certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, follows a young boy who is abducted by a neighborhood killer, the Grabber (Hawke). Locked in the Grabber’s basement, the boy begins receiving calls on a disconnected phone from the killer’s victims.

Rivas recently wrapped filming her first lead role in the Amazon/MGM movie Levon’s Trade, opposite Jason Statham.

Erstwhile Boardwalk Empire star Jack Huston makes his debut as a feature film writer/director with Day of the Fight, a heartfelt indie drama that follows a disgraced boxer, Irish Mike (Michael C. Pitt), on the day of his big comeback bout at Madison Square Garden. Shot in New York City in glorious black and white, Day of the Fight succeeds thanks to its tight script, which slowly peels back the layers surrounding Irish Mike, his past, and his relationships with his friends and family, and an outstanding supporting cast, including Nicolette Robinson, Ron Perlman, Steve Buscemi, John Magaro, and Joe Pesci.

While Day of the Fight marks Jack Huston's debut as a feature film writer and director, he demonstrates an outstanding command of visual language, enhanced by his heart-wrenching script. Clearly, he was paying attention during his career as an actor.

Rocky IV star Dolph Lundgren reveals the on-set tension between him and co-star Carl Weathers. Having played Apollo Creed in the first three Rocky films, Weathers was no stranger to the hugely successful sports movie franchise when he returned for a fourth go-around. Rocky IV would indeed prove to be Weathers’ last Rocky franchise appearance as Creed (outside of flashbacks), as the character famously died in the ring while fighting the Russian behemoth Ivan Drago, played by newcomer Lundgren.

But Lundgren didn’t only feel tension with Weathers as a result of their playing adversaries, he also felt it off-camera due to unfamiliarity, as he revealed exclusively to Screen Rant during a Fan Expo panel. Lundgren recalls being comfortable with Rocky actor Sylvester Stallone after sparring with him for weeks:

Well, I didn't know Carl [before Rocky IV]. I knew Stallone because we boxed and trained together for six months, and he was my boss.

Alter Bridge have unveiled a 20th anniversary expanded vinyl reissue of their debut album One Day Remains via Craft Recordings.

The 2-lp pressing arrives in a plethora of colorways — a whopping nine in total — and features the original tracklist and six bonus tracks: the rare B-side “Save Me” closing out Side C, and a five-song 2005 live performance from Toronto’s Phase One Studios on Side D (four of the live cuts being previously unreleased). The live take of “Metalingus” can be streamed now ahead of the vinyl release.

Select color variants retail for $40 and are for sale exclusively on Alter Bridge’s online store. Each variant is limited to 300 copies.

Meanwhile, the worldwide release for the standard 2-lp black version ($33) is March 7th, with other exclusive retailers carrying the remaining vinyl colorways. A digital release featuring the bonus tracks is set for December 6th.

The Creed movie franchise injected new life into the connected cinematic universe that began with Rocky in 1976, and with star Michael B. Jordan set to return for Creed 4, the new franchise has an opportunity to execute something that the Rocky franchise never did well. Sevendust have announced a series of headlining 2025 US dates that will take place during and after the band’s support slot on Disturbed’s previously announced North American arena tour. Horizon Theory will support the new gigs.

All told, Sevendust have scheduled 12 headlining “In Dust We Trust” dates taking place from late February through late March. Among the shows are stops in Kansas City, Atlantic City, Virginia Beach, and Little Rock.

Jon Hamm and Jimmy Fallon surprised viewers with a parody of Creed’s “With Arms Wide Open” on a special Sunday night (November 17th) episode of The Tonight Show.

Hamm was the evening’s guest, and following a commercial break, Fallon prompted the video with a bizarre question: “Do you remember when we used to be Creed?”

Kailyn Lowry would like to issue a correction.

On more than one semi-recent occasion, the former Teen Mom 2 star has said she was done having kids.

Last year, Lowry said as much during an episode of one of her podcasts, stating very straightforwardly:

“No more pregnancies, no more surprise pregnancies, unplanned pregnancies, pregnancy, surrogacy, none of it.”

A couple months later, after revealing she had given birth to twins, Lowry said the doctor had tied her tubes as part of the C-section that enabled her to welcome her latest son and daughter into the world.

The Fire Inside tells the story of Olympic boxer Clarissa “T-Rex” Shields (Ryan Destiny) and her coach Jason Crutchfield (Brian Tyree Henry). Shields’ accomplishments in the ring are a matter of public record and she was the subject of a documentary. The film, from director Rachel Morrison and a script by Barry Jenkins, focuses on the relationship between Shields and her coach that sports fans never got to see.

“This is an inspirational sports movie until it becomes an inspirational life movie,” Morrison said. “The heart of it is the life part. A lot of it outside the ring is telling his side of the story too.”

The film is the first time Henry played a real, living figure like Crutchfield, he said. Henry said he was also inspired by the fact that Crutchfield moved Shields into his house.
