Wyatt Oleff, Kevin Pollak and Janeane Garofalo will star in Mark Rosman’s “In My Life.”
As the film’s title suggests, the comedy/drama is inspired by the music of the Beatles. It follows Evan, a 16-year-old John Lennon wannabe, who is thrilled when the Beatles move in next door to his Beverly Hills home before playing the Hollywood Bowl in 1965. He is desperate to meet his rock idol, while Lennon wants to meet Elvis before the rest of the Beatles do that night. To make it happen, they spend a day together that will forever change their lives. The movie and the places it remembers have a personal connection for Rosman.
“One day in 1965, I found the Beatles were right next door to my house, and this became the launching point for a movie about my youth, my love of music, the 60’s and a very close call...

For the fourth consecutive year Hollywood has selected its Black List, a compilation of the top unproduced screenplays for 2009. Over 300 film professionals were asked to submit the titles of up to ten of their favorite screenplays. The only condition for the picks were that the projects would not be released in theaters this year. That means some of the Black List honorees may be in the process of being turned into movies but by far the majority remain thoughts on digital ink, a blueprint for grand dramatic ideas, high-reaching adventure and controversial ideas waiting to be burned to light.
For a screenplay to have made it onto the Black List it must have received at least five votes for it. Some scripts have five votes while the top-rated screenplay received 47 votes. That doesn't mean that the script with the most votes is the best screenplay of the year; it means...

London -- Indie producer Simon Brooks has optioned the movie rights to "Endal," the true story of a pedigree Labrador who cared for a disabled Gulf War veteran, saving his marriage, and, on one occasion, his life.
Brooks has optioned the book about "the most decorated dog in the world" and has hired writer Juliette Towhidi ("Calendar Girls") to pen a screenplay from the life story of Royal Navy chief petty officer Allen Parton.
Parton suffered crippling head injuries during the Gulf War and got Endal from the Canine Partners charity to assist with everyday chores, from picking items off a supermarket shelf to operating an Atm.
Based on Sandra and Allen Partons' co-authored book, "Endal: How One Extraordinary Dog Brought a Family Back from the Brink," the story has been the subject of a TV documentary which Brooks watched before optioning rights to Parton's life story.

There are heartwarming tales and then there's Endal, a pedigree Labrador who virtually single-pawedly cared for a disabled Gulf War veteran, saving his marriage, and, on one occasion, his life. It's the stuff movies are made of, and thanks to producer Simon Brooks (White Noise), it's now the stuff a movie will be made of. Brooks acquired the rights to the story after watching a TV documentary about Chief Petty Officer Allen Parton who, after suffering head injuries in combat, was assigned a charity-trained pup Endal to help with his day-to-day chores.Endal's resourcefulness went much further though: when Parton was hit by a car, the canine put him into the recovery position, covered him in a blanket and went for help. He could also use a cash machine, fetch items from supermarket shelves and load and empty a washing machine. Oh, and Endal himself had a lifelong disability...
