Renaud Mathieu is a Canadian-born Paris-based line producer and holds dual French (EU)/Canadian citizenship. He has worked in Canada, France, Germany, Morocco, the Caribbean and Ivory Coast.
From 1993 to 2005, he worked on more than 25 film productions in Montreal , with budgets ranging from 1 to 21 million dollars, before line producing 3 seasons of "15 Love", a France-Canada TV series.
Since then moving to France in 2006, Renaud has worked on almost every English-speaking foreign series meaningfully shot in France and seeking to take advantage of the French Tax Rebate for International Productions (TRIP).
From the BBC's hit series "Merlin" (first 3 seasons 2008-10) to "Death in Paradise" (first two seasons 2011-12) shot in Guadeloupe (French West Indies), he then worked on the development phase of "Versailles" for Canal + (2013-14) and, after spending a few years writing and developing his own projects in Western Africa, he managed season 2 of Amazon's "Patriot"(2017-18), and more recently season 1 of Paramount's "Emily in Paris" (2019), both entirely shot in France.
