Mumbai, March 4 (Ians) Filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee, who is awaiting the release of his upcoming film ‘Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2’, auditioned more than 6,000 actors for different roles in the upcoming sequel to the 2010 sleeper hit ‘Love Sex Aur Dhokha’.

Dibakar took up a very specific process to pick the best talent who can not only justify the role but also fit best in the story.

A source said: “Dibakar Banerjee took the audition of around 6,000 actors to find the best fit for the role. Before the audition also, he was very particular about the kind of character that he was writing and the in-depth research that he went into. For one of the stories that is based on a YouTuber, Dibakar along with Ektaa R Kapoor went through a lot of images and videos of different kinds of YouTubers from across India for around 10 to 12 hours for a couple of days.

Actress Nimrit Kaur was set to star in the upcoming film ‘Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2’ directed by ace filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee. However, it is learnt that she passed the role owing to the explicit scenes in the film.

An industry source said that as the film’s narrative got bolder with time, the actress had to pass on the role as she didn’t feel comfortable with the script’s demand.

The source said: “Nimrit Kaur has passed her role in ‘Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2’ because of the explicit scenes in the film. When Ektaa R Kapoor went on to the television reality show ‘Bigg Boss’, she signed Nimrit Kaur for her upcoming movie as the lead actress for her Bollywood debut.”

The source further mentioned, “As the requirements of the film got bolder and more sensuous, the actress had to pass on the role as she was not comfortable doing intimate scenes.

Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for “Jaane Jaan,” “Kahaani” filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh‘s Indian adaptation of Japanese author Higashino Keigo’s bestselling 2005 novel “The Devotion of Suspect X.”

The cast is led by Bollywood royalty Kareena Kapoor Khan and also includes Jaideep Ahlawat (“Paatal Lok”) and Vijay Varma (“Dahaad”).

The film follows a single mother and her daughter who commit a crime and a neighbor who helps them cover it up amidst a police investigation.

The novel has been adapted numerous times including in Japan as “Suspect X” (2008), in Korea as “Perfect Number” (2012) and in China as “The Devotion of Suspect X” (2017). A Hollywood version is in development.

Kapoor, with parents Jeetendra Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor, launched in 1994 what was to become among South Asia’s most prolific TV producers, with filmmaking subsidiary Balaji Motion Pictures opening in 2001.
