First created in 1993, Power Ranges became such a huge pop culture sensation that spawned not only multiple TV shows and movies, but also a massive series of Power Rangers-themed toys, video games, and even comic books that feature the Rangers as zombies.

While it’s established early on that Power Rangers‘ Rita Repulsa (Barbara Goodson) was trapped in a space dumpster on the moon, her prison’s real location is actually something much more exotic. While Mighty Morphin Power Rangers managed to adapt multiple aspects from its counterpart series, Super Sentai, the two do clash on some points, including where Rita was originally imprisoned. This makes for some interesting inconsistencies between the world of Power Rangers versus what was shown on the screen.

One such difference relates to Rita Repulsa, who served as the main antagonist of the show's first season. Although it’s been about 30 years between the first season of the show and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always, it’s a bit strange that the CGI effects haven't evolved much. While Mighty Morphin Power Rangers will always hold a nostalgic place in the Power Rangers canon, it’s also true that the effects and dialogue tended to err on the campy side. This is a positive feature of the series, but the effects have naturally improved with time. For that reason, there was obviously an expectation for the reunion movie to differ considerably from the original show in this regard.

As a throwback to the first few seasons, the movie will bring back a handful of the original Power Rangers team. Once & Always is on track to continue the story of the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers cast, with the cast only missing the Yellow and Green Rangers.

Let's get something out of the way first. "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always" is not where you want to start as a newcomer to the "Power Rangers" franchise. It is also not a wildly different reimagining of the '90s juggernaut — so don't expect a gritty reboot like the Joseph Kahn and Adi Shankar short film. Instead, what this offers is a nostalgia-filled special that is not particularly different from the many, many, many other anniversary crossover specials the franchise has done over the years.

What does make "Once & Always" different and notable is that it is entirely focused on the original "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" iteration rather than trying to tie in the past with the future. And even if this is still as cheesy as the original '90s show, it does have some edge to it that makes it stand out — plus a loving tribute to fallen Rangers.

A brand new scripted audio series that just launched this year, NPRmageddon is “what National Public Radio will sound like after the apocalypse,” the team explains.

NPRmageddon is a ten-part post-apocalyptic sci-fi arthouse radio show audio drama adjective-rich podcast in the style of public radio, broadcast from the United States of “Lost” Angeles.

Creators Bryan Keithley and Peter Podgursky tell Save the Cat, “We based our storytelling on how modern media operates and what National Public Radio sounds like now.

“Our approach with NPRmageddon was to give our listeners the good stuff—to lean on one-off stories heavy on science fiction and horror tropes, but to push those tropes through the lens of public media journalism. The two most iconic Power Rangers villains are both returning in 2023 in two separate projects. The Power Rangers universe turns 30 in 2023, something that will be celebrated not only with a new Power Rangers series, Cosmic Fury but also with a Mighty Morphin Power Rangers reunion. Nostalgia and references to past seasons have always been part of the Power Rangers franchise, and it will be no different in 2023.

From Mighty Morphin to Dino Fury, Power Rangers has had dozens of main antagonists – not to mention the countless Power Rangers’ “monsters of the week.” Still, just like a lot of elements from Mighty Morphin, the original Power Rangers villains are still the most recognizable ones. Several of the original Power Rangers team will soon be reuniting for Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: Once & Always, a special episode commemorating the 30th anniversary of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. Three decades after its 1993 premiere, Haim Saban's Power Rangers franchise has become a cultural phenomenon, having seen many reinventions. Past Rangers have returned to various Power Rangers series' during the show's long history, but now members of the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers team will be coming together for one more adventure.

Adapted from the Japanese superhero metaseries Super Sentai, Power Rangers has spanned 30 seasons over 30 years, with 22 different iterations of the iconic team. Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers kicked off the revolution by detailing the story of five teenagers who are chosen by the mysterious Zordon to act as the protectors of Earth against the evil forces of Rita Repulsa. While many lucky teens have fought in the battle of good vs.

Instead of go-go Power Rangers for the 30th anniversary special on Netflix, at least one prominent cast member is singing no-go.

“For the record I never said no,” Johnson tweeted on Wednesday. “I just didn’t say yes to what was offered. But other fun stuff is in store! Looking forward to watching my friends kick ass!”

Gkids to release hit in Us on January 17.

Gkids has announced Riz Ahmed, Alison Brie and Lee Pace in the English-language voice cast of Japanese animation hit Weathering With You.

An English dub and Japanese version of Makoto Shinkai’s film opens in the Us on January 15 and 16 in fan previews arranged through Fathom Events, before Gkids releases it publicly on January 17.

Weathering With You was the number one Japanese release of 2019 and centres on a high school freshman who flees his remote island to a rainy Tokyo, where he finds work as a writer for a mysterious occult magazine.
