The bond between Monkey D. Luffy and Portgas D. Ace in One Piece is one of the most heartwarming aspects of the anime. The two sworn brothers had each others’ backs since their childhood and while Ace took a long time to warm up to the younger boy, he eventually became the best elder brother to Luffy. Their protectiveness and pride for each other are unmatched. Their voice actors, Mayumi Tanaka and Toshio Furukawa, are similarly bonded and found family in each other.

A recent interview revealed that Tanaka calls Furukawa “big bro,” just like Luffy called Ace in One Piece. The tragic events of the Marineford Arc left the voice actors as devastated as Luffy and the fans felt. Furukawa found Ace’s death scene incredibly difficult to record.

The new era of One Piece began when the recent generation of Emperors of the Sea was announced in the narrative. Within the new generation, the one character whose terrifying presence has struck fear in the minds of One Piece characters is Marshall D. Teach, also known as the infamous Blackbeard.

Blackbeard’s dream of conquering the world has motivated him to reach a level of success in the pirate world that only a few other characters have been capable of. He has not only fought against some of the strongest opponents but also emerged victorious from every battle except for one, where he faced the most difficult time.

This battle was against one of Vegapunk’s creations, Seraphim. As One Piece fans know, the Seraphim are mini clones of former warlords, and the one that challenged Blackbeard was S-Hawk, created in the image of Dracule Mihawk.

Portgas D. Ace has been confirmed to appear in the upcoming second season of Netflix’s One Piece Live-Action series.

The announcement was made by Ace’s anime voice actor, Toshio Furukawa, during a fan interaction at Otakuthon

Furukawa, who has been voicing the character since his first appearance in episode 91 of the anime, also confirmed that he would reprise his role for the Japanese dub of the live-action series.

However, the actor portraying Ace in the series is yet to be officially announced.

While expressing excitement about the live-action project, Furukawa also shared his hope to continue voicing Ace in the One Piece anime remake produced by Wit Studio.

“I would love to continue voicing Ace in the remake, but I’m not sure if I will be invited to do so. However, I will at least be voicing Ace in the second season of the One Piece live-action Japanese dub.

The tale of the Alabasta saga in One Piece is ready to be adapted in the upcoming season of One Piece live-action by Netflix. With the production going on in full throttle, the series is most likely to hit the streaming platform in the next year. The creators have also revealed many new actors joining the cast, in addition to the veterans from the first season.

The English voice cast for Adult Swim’s upcoming adaptation of Junji Ito’s horror manga “Uzumaki” was announced at Anime Expo over the weekend. Created in partnership with Production Ig USA, the animated TV series is currently in production.

Written and illustrated by Ito, the original manga series told the story of the citizens of Kurōzu-cho, a fictional city that is plagued by a supernatural curse involving spirals.

If there’s one movie that’s going to pull ahead, sources are betting on Crunchyroll’s Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. That distributor has proven in a short amount of time that they can draw a great deal of anime fans in a Friday through Sunday span. The Tetsuro Kodama directed animation movie is looking at anywhere from 12M-15M, ahead of Universal’s genre lion-stalking film, Beast, starring Idris Elba; that pic hoping for at least double digits.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, booked in around 3,940 theaters, will be armed with all premium ticket formats, i.e. 4Dx, Imax, Dolby and D-box, and will kick off showtimes at 5Pm on Thursday. The previous movie, Dragon Ball Super: Broly, over a 6-day MLK holiday stretch in 2019 debuted to 22.3M.
