Anthony Hopkins made his first public appearance over the weekend since recently losing his home in the Pacific Palisades fire by traveling to Saudi Arabia. The legendary Oscar-winning actor, who is also a composer, hosted a gala concert featuring his pieces played by Britain’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

While in Saudi Arabia, Hopkins also attended the kingdom’s Joy Awards which honors artistic achievements of the Arab world. For the unversed, Denzel gave the highest-grossing film of his career with, American Gangster, which was also directed by Ridley Scott. The movie came out in 2007 and featured Russell Crowe, Ted Levine, John Ortiz, Josh Brolin, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Ruby Dee, Lymari Nadal, and Cuba Gooding Jr, besides Washington. According to Box Office Mojo’s report, it collected $130.16 million at the domestic box office and $269.75 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing film in Denzel’s career.

Screenwriter Derek Kolstad wrote around 50 scripts before he finally broke through with the spec screenplay that became John Wick.

It’s an odd profession, screenwriting. There are some who’ve spent years trying to break into it, only to have their work changed to such a degree that their original idea has effectively vanished by the time it reaches the screen. There are others who get paid handsomely by studios to write screenplays that then wind up on a shelf, unused. For every celebrated screenwriter with millions in the bank and awards on their shelves, there are countless others who are behind on their rent and remain largely unknown.

Screenwriter Derek Kolstad, meanwhile, is something of an inspiration. He toiled away for years in the hope of making a career out of writing, and almost gave up when some of the low-budget movies he worked on didn’t bring in much of a salary.

Tom Cruise’s Jerry Maguire contributed some of the most quoted catchphrases in popular culture. The film had one of the most memorable performances from Cruise, who was nominated for an Oscar for the role. Renée Zellweger and Cruise’s chemistry worked in the film’s favor. The couple even gave us a great romantic line that ended with Zellweger saying the now-popular catchphrase, “You had me at ‘hello'”.

“Nightingale,” a new action thriller, was filmed in Bulgaria and takes a dramatic look at the current war between Russia and Ukraine through a dangerous rescue mission lens. Lamonica Garrett plays a former special forces soldier who now works as a private military contractor trying to save his stolen adopted daughter.

The movie, directed by William Kaufman, who is known for making action movies, tries to show how complicated the human stories that come out of foreign conflicts are. Garrett’s character has to go through dangerous areas while trying to save people from Russian forces in a frantic rescue mission.

The movie has a great group cast, with Jason Patric as a CIA handler and Andrew Howard as a former CIA agent who worked in Ukraine. Daniel Bernhardt will play the bad guy, a Russian general in charge of the kidnapping.

“Nightingale,” an action thriller set against the backdrop of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, has pulled the curtain back on its ensemble, casting “Special Ops: Lioness” and “1883” star Lamonica Garrett to lead the picture. Jason Patric, Andrew Howard and Daniel Bernhardt are also starring.

The picture comes from producers Isaac Lewis and Andrew Lewis of Denton Film. Low-budget staple William Kaufman is directing the feature, which recently wrapped principal photography in Bulgaria. Kaufman co-write the script with Paul Reichelt, who also serves as executive producer.

Garrett is best known for his roles on “Sons of Anarchy” and “Designated Survivor.” He stars in “Nightingale” as an American Special Forces Operator and private military contractor, who must balance tending to civilian lives while rescuing his adoptive daughter, who is kidnapped and taken hostage by Russian forces in Ukraine. Patric plays a CIA handler with a shared history with Garrett’s character.

Directed by Michael Bay and written by Randall Wallace (Braveheart), the 2001 war film depicts the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, following a love story between a combat pilot and nurse leading up to the attack, followed by the Doolittle Raid, a counter-attack by the United States. The movie stars Ben Affleck, Kate Beckinsale, Josh Hartnett, Cuba Gooding Jr., Tom Sizemore, Jon Voight, Colm Feore, and Alec Baldwin.

The motion seeks to dismiss the Second Amended Complaint filed in February with prejudice, claiming that Jones is merely after unpaid income from his work with Diddy and that his attorney is fanning the flames of the dispute from behind the scenes.
