The band and their self-titled 1978 album used the alternative moniker "UK Squeeze" in the United States and Canada because of legal conflicts arising from the American contemporary band Tight Squeeze. The same alternative name was used in Australia on all albums up to and including 1985's Cosi Fan Tutti Frutti due to legal conflicts with another band named Squeeze who were based in Sydney.
