I totally failed reading this year
I mean, I said "I'll be happy if I read 40 books" (and I lowered to 30 cuz I had to move countries twice, but I read 40 books anyway), but I lied

I did none of that moving stuff and honestly, half the year was a slump.
Maybe next year we all can just do a bit better.
Honestly, I am always amazed by your goals being super specific and detailed. In '23 I would like to have some specific ones like that.

I only had specific goals in 2021 and nailed it.
I totally failed 2022 and previous years
however, i find that when I had a specific list it was easier for me to not slump as I knew what I had next
My 2023 goals are not specific, so I wonder how I'll do. I am in a transition period right now, in 2020-21 I switched from reading YA Fantasy to Adult Fantasy, and in 2022-23 I am trying to "catch up" - read classics, older fantasy and get into historical fiction

Makes sense.
If you are open to a book that is a classic AND historical fiction, I would definitely recommend The Long Ships by Frans G. Bengtsson, a Swedish classic about vikings. :D One of my favourites, it's bonkers.
But yeah, I think I will set a few specific goals, then just do what feels right otherwise.

I was barely reading what I've planned
