A stranger comes to town - and he's bat-sh*t crazy!

My favorite Hamsun novel so far after "Growth of the soil". If it weren't for the somewhat crude and rushed ending it would've been perfect.

Some things I like in both the previous book and this one:
- The first really good representation of a warrior-monk in fantasy.
- The first really good representation of a doppelganger in fantasy.
- The blending of fantasy and SF in a tasteful and intelligent way.
