Andrew Lynch is an author of fantasy and science fiction in his spare time. When not being lured by such productive things that stave off the darkness of being, he is a gamer (PC and board), a youtuber, and a struggling enthusiast (that’s right, I struggle to be enthusiastic!).
He lives in the well known hive of scum and villainy, London. England, as if that needed to be said.
On the occasional times he feels the need for luxurious things like food and rent, he’s got one of those jobs where if he told you what he did he’d have to kill you.

If you’re into the more exotic things in life (wargaming and rants) he can be found on Youtube with the mysterious name of Glass Half Dead.

If you want to find more of his writing, he has a highly under utili

However, as I can only really focus on one project at a time, my next release will be the YA novel.(less)

I won't say any of my own, even though they mean more to me in a certain way than any other book ever could. I've also had some great reads that have plumbed uncharted emotional depths within me. But I'm going to say Pyramids by Terry Pratchett.
This book beat out all of the others by being emblematic of the author as a whole, and in itself inspiring my own writing. I'm inspired by the feeling of good and joy that comes from Pratchett'a comedy so much more than anything else. I don't want to write in his style (not that I could ever hope to match him), but his works motivate me, and Pyramids is the best of his work in my view. (less)

Another year another book!

Well, this has been a long time coming! First up, I have a new book!

HOPE Engine by Andrew Lynch

And the book inside? More good news, there are 10 illustrations for you to look at! Pretty great, huh?

What's that? The story? Oh... I mean, it's... divisive, so far. I've had everything from 5 stars to 1 stars, from lo Read more of this blog post »

C.S. Lewis
“I can't imagine a man really enjoying a book and reading it only once.”
C.S. Lewis

Charlotte Brontë
“The trouble is not that I am single and likely to stay single, but that I am lonely and likely to stay lonely.”
Charlotte Brontë

“I'm just jazzed about being on the show, man.”
Guy Fleegman Galaxy Quest

Terry Pratchett
“The reason that the rich were so rich, Vimes reasoned, was because they managed to spend less money.

Take boots, for example. He earned thirty-eight dollars a month plus allowances. A really good pair of leather boots cost fifty dollars. But an affordable pair of boots, which were sort of OK for a season or two and then leaked like hell when the cardboard gave out, cost about ten dollars. Those were the kind of boots Vimes always bought, and wore until the soles were so thin that he could tell where he was in Ankh-Morpork on a foggy night by the feel of the cobbles.

But the thing was that good boots lasted for years and years. A man who could afford fifty dollars had a pair of boots that'd still be keeping his feet dry in ten years' time, while the poor man who could only afford cheap boots would have spent a hundred dollars on boots in the same time and would still have wet feet.

This was the Captain Samuel Vimes 'Boots' theory of socioeconomic unfairness.”
Terry Pratchett, Men at Arms: The Play

Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
“Say what you will about the sweet miracle of unquestioning faith, I consider a capacity for it terrifying and absolutely vile.”
Kurt Vonnegut, Mother Night
