Buddy Read Suggestions
Well since it tied for second on the group read vote I know a few people want to read it so how about Succulent Prey
I've been wanting to read it. When are you planning to read it? Next month? I still need to read Ancient Images for this month's group read.
Next month would be fine, I usually go through a novel every other night at work but I got bumped to a new job and I am in training so not much free time to read. I will probably be done with training in the next week or two and after that anytime will be fine with me.
If anyone wants to read Ghost Road Blues with me that might be fun. I have to finish reading this book for a class by October 25th, but I also have to read a mystery novel (currently reading) and a romance novel before that so I'm not 100% sure when I'd start it.

I have this book, but I probably won't be able to get to start on it until next week because I started reading Every Dead Thing today.

That sounds fine :) Just post when you are ready to start and I'll join in.

Hey, a friend at another group creates a thread for the books that several members have posted that they'd like to read together. I'll add to the list from suggestions from this thread. When the time comes for the read, I'll create a discussion thread. I hope this will prompt me to read some of the books I've been wanting to read for a while.

That's a great way to organize it.

Lauren, I'd love to read The Ritual. Looks like my kind of book. I'll add our names to the list for October.

I started this book yesterday because I get a bit OCD with stuff I have to read for school and I was on a roll. We can start the discussion anytime.

If I can I would like to throw my name in the hat for Ghost Road Blues for September. I have had it for a long time and want to finally read it. I'm going to try for Succulent Prey too provided I can squeeze a couple bucks out of my book fund - I have been bad and overspent for the past several months in a row...
Throw me down for The Ritual. I just impulse grabbed it from the New Books section at the library, read the two page prologue, and now know how I'll be spending the rest of my weekend.

We are not doing the buddy read until October though. Not that you couldn't still discuss it with us if you read it now.

This one sucked me in big time and I don't think I can stop myself from finishing it straight through. I'll just jump into the thread when it gets started in October. I don't recommend peeking at the first two pages unless you plan to read all of it.
I curse my impulsiveness. I'm already 100 pages into this demonic prose form of crack cocaine and I can't wait until October to discuss it. Its like Blair Witch meets The Ruins meets The Willows. I can put it down just long enough for my pulse to slow down to a normal rate but then I'm back at it.
I'm gonna try to speed up October. I'm sure that defies some law of physics or something but I always sucked at science so I'm gonna try anyway.
I'm jumping into your Succulent Prey thread too even though I read it a couple years ago. I thought it was great and look forward to your thoughts on it.
Oh, and all this happened while I was looking for my copy of Ghost Road Blues. I found it so I'll probably be loitering in that thread too.

Sign me up! Oh, already signed up for it. But don't let me forget come October.

Oh Tressa, don't worry I'll def remind everyone when it gets close to time. I read a few pages and had to stop since I started my classes (mainly Anatomy and Physiology) and I'm anxious to get back to it. My last day of class is October 5 and I'll probably be starting it on he fourth. Lol
I had every intention of reading IT (Hardback) until I pulled it off my shelf and I swear it weighed 10 pounds! I put it back and grabbed a paperback of The Shining. It seemed less intimidating at the time :)
I have just finished my latest book which was a zombie book and would like some suggestions on what to read next.
What one of your favourite books would you recommend?
Does anyone recommend World War Z?
And I don't mind buddying up too.
Ok.......I'll shut up now ;)

Margaret, my library copy of The Ritual should be available for me today. Will get started on that this month along with 'Salem's Lot for the group read.
Zoe, World War Z is fantastic. You won't go wrong reading that one. For me since it's a different spin on the zombie novel it refreshed the genre for me and I enjoyed it more.
Check the Buddy Lists thread to see if you want to jump in on any of them. Or suggest one here and see if you get any takers.

I LOVED The Little Stranger. Thanks to Bandit for recommending it to me. I'll create a discussion thread for it.
I hope someone takes Addy up on her Little Stranger buddy read. It is a fantastic book. I created a discussion thread. Let me know if you want me to add your name to the list. The read will go from October thru November since October is almost over.
I am starting a buddy read for Edge of Dark Water in my other group if anyone wants to join us. We only have 2 people reading it I doubt the other Guy would have a problem with moving it here so we have a few more people.
