October is just around the corner. Time to take a look at some of those old challenges and decide what needs work during the month of October. The deadline for this challenge has been removed; however, if it works better for you to include a deadline of 10/31/20, please do so :)

Take a look at your challenges and decide what needs to be cleaned up and marked off your list next. This is kind of like a read-a-thon...with a twist. The goal is to help us complete a difficult challenge - or one that has been lingering for a while :)

To Start: You will need to pick a specific "target" to work on...a challenge that is proving difficult to finish, a challenge that needs just a few books to complete....any reading challenge you've been working on for some time, but haven't been able to finish.

Please Note: You are welcome to use just a section of a specific challenge if you prefer. For example: If you are working on the Ben & Jerry's Challenge, and you have just a letter or two (or more) to complete a certain flavor, you are welcome to use that as your challenge clean up goal.

Jingles, I am not really making excuses, but I my husband and my widowed sister are just home from the hospital, I will be slowing down. I will keep reading but I'll be behind in finishing challenges. I can't imagine how you keep up with all you do in moderating challenges and reading, as well.

Oh Judy, I'm so sorry to hear about your hubby and your sister! I do so hope they are on the mend, and that they both make a speedy recovery. I will be thinking of them both and you as well.

And as always, in any of the four groups I moderate, those deadlines do not mean a thing, so please just enjoy the reading time you do get, and don't worry about the challenges. They will still be here when you get time enough to participate and to log what you've read.

If it helps to know this, I very, very rarely finish a challenge on time, and what's more...these days, I never, ever get it posted before the deadline. Right now, I'm updating with books I read clear back to March 2020, so that gives you an idea of just how far behind I am on updating my challenges.

I just hope you can get in some time to relax and enjoy the reading you are able to fit in, and that you take care of yourself as well.

I utterly failed on this challenge this month. I fell down the rabbit hole of a new author and ended up reading almost his entire backlog (35 of 36 books). Between that and my team challenges, I made no progress on old challenges. I'll have to try and do better next month.
