The long cool nights of Fall are here and Halloween is not far away. It's the perfect time to curl up in your favorite chair with a good book to provide some chills and thrills.

Sign up to read as many books as you'd like. This challenge will run until November 15 to provide just a bit more time to finish all those wonderful books you started for Halloween scares.

Lists of horror books to provide ideas for your challenge or simply to add to your ever growing TBR list are here:

https://www.worldswithoutend.com/list...
https://www.npr.org/2018/08/16/632779...
https://bookriot.com/2018/02/22/conte...
https://bookriot.com/2018/03/12/best-...

To join, click on Challenges in the menu in the upper right. Enter the number of books you want to read for the challenge. Enter a shelf name so Good Reads can track them for you. Remember to add your selections to that shelf also.

Hope you all have a wonderful scary time.

I set my goal at 10 and I'm starting now. The Devil and Tom Walker being the first one of that list. next some Poe, Hawthorne, and many of my other favorites to read around this time of year.

I love how you read so many of the classics of horror. I have to get back to reading some of Poe again. I have an entire collection of his stories on my kindle app but I keep forgetting they're there.

Thanks for posting about Ghost Story being on sale. I picked it up too, because it is pretty long and now I won't have to rush through it to return it to the library.

Speaking of long Horror novels I think I'm going to read House of Leaves and I'll be doing audio book for The Passage. I've never read either and I want to do them for this challenge. Happy reading :)

Me too! Even though I'll be doing the passage as audio book it's fairly long. Hope it doesn't stunt the number of horror books I can do for this challenge. 😁

I need to finish at least one of the four books I'm currently reading but when I do, my first book for this challenge will be
Frankenstein The First Two Hundred Years by Christopher Frayling .
Should be a fun way to start.

Me too. I am reading this for quite a while now and hope to finish it in October.

Okay, I just looked over my other challenges and the maybe-tbr I did for October and this is, what I will try to read for this challenge:

1. Frankenstein
2. Eternal Frankenstein
3. Something wicked this way comes
4. The Wicked
5. Doorbells at Dusk: Halloween Stories
6. Not decided yet, maybe a book from a subscription box which will arrive soon. All the other books I already own so this will be a good opportunity to read them :)

If you look at the menu in the upper right, you'll see 'challenges'. Click on that, the Chills and Thrills challenge is the top one. Add the number of books you'd like to read, name the shelf (Chills and Thrills would work) and then save it. When you go to your personal bookshelf, you'll see the name for the challenge. Add the books you want to read. Enjoy the scares!
