Crazy for Young Adult Books discussion

Meet new people and perhaps find your new Book Best Friend in this new challenge by CRAZY FOR YA BOOKS!




Duration: 1-31 January 2017

Sign up period: Until December 30th, 2016
Partners will be assigned the next day.


Synopsis:
-In this challenge, players are partnered up based on their favorite books and assigned a certain criteria. This may be a genre, author, or Listopia list.
-The partners must then choose a book that fits the given criteria.
-They may choose to read a book that is new to them both, or they may choose to read a book that the other person has already read. This must be a mutual decision. One person cannot read something new if the other is reading something off a partner’s “read” list.


Guidelines:
- In this challenge, participants are required to sign up first.
- The participants will later be paired up based on their sign-up responses, if possible.
- You will find who your partner is below, in post #3.
- Participants need to CHOOSE & READ at least one book.
- You may either choose one book that you both read for the first time, or you may choose a book that your partner has already read.
- When you finish, compare the rating your partner has given with your rating.
- You complete the challenge when you and your partner both finish reading your books.

I guess I won't likely be partnered up with Mandiann or Nicole, because I HATED . I just couldn't get into it, so I never added it to my "Currently Reading" shelf even though I read a few chapters. It's one of those books that make me wonder if something is wrong with me because so many people loved it. Maybe I should try again when I have a lot of time on my hands. LOL

I know how you feel. I really didn't like Shadow and Bone, but I feel like everyone else loved it. I was actually surprised I didn't like it because I liked Six of Crows.

But I feel RPO is appealing toward a narrow audience, once that grew up within a certain generatopn and enjoys playing video games. i can see how it is not everyone's cup of tea.

First of all...eeeeeeeeeee!!!!! This is the first I've heard of a Ready Player One movie! Finally my husband will share that world with me! He doesn't read books ever, but he loves watching movies.

I can see how it would appeal mainly to a certain audience. For me, I don't really understand what everyone sees in Throne of Glass. At least the later books seem to get a bit better to me. Haven't read book 4 yet. The main character just really bothers me.

Yup! They have already cast and started filming. Its supposed to be out March 2018 I think.

@ ★ℕłℂØℓҾ★ (Nix) - I hear you. I couldn't get into Throne of Glass. I read up to book two and decided to end it there. I think I do want to try and give it another chance, though. I also was not a fan of A Court of Mist and Fury, which I seem to be alone in my opinion with. lol

I haven't read that one yet, Sarah Louise, but I work in a library and so many people talk about it that I feel like I have to read it at some point. I don't have high expectations though LOL

I'm not usually a fan of thrillers or mystery type books but I'm trying to expand my interests so I'm looking forward to trying it. I do love paranormal books and time travel. ^-^
