Brianna | 1 comments Hi Everyone! I'm new to the group. My name is Brianna. I'm an author/reader/reviewer/hairstylist! I am excited to be on good reads! Here is a paragraph from my new book "My Last Letter". I would greatly appreciate anyone's review of my book! It is available on Amazon. Thank you everyone!!!!

... "Summer no longer makes me think of glittering stars or rippling waves of the river. I don’t think of long car rides or carnivals stopping time. It now reminds me of two hands touching, creating an unbreakable bond that was shattered. The spill of the moonlight doesn’t brighten my heart any longer.
Not only did I love you, but I fully believed you and I were connected—soul to soul. I would have been a fool not to notice the way the moonlight lit up your eyes but now summer only reminds me of being completely destroyed."

message 16: by Arina (new)

Arina (ap2014) | 2 comments As a reader, I'm always interested in cross-genre books especially from undue authors. The captivating story line and thought provoking characters are key to me rather than a specific genre.

message 17: by Arina (new)

Arina (ap2014) | 2 comments Cullen, thank you for the suggestion. I'll look into it. I find cross genre books captivating especially when backed up by masterful prose.

I'm not an author myself but do enjoy finding new gems before they become mainstream.

ElleLinn Hello,

I'm not online regularly due to Life, but I read and write! I've published a serio-comic novel called "From Finland with Love," which won the California Writers Club Jack London award. Genre? Contemporary fiction (where Tom Perotta/Nick Hornby and Helen Fielding collide). I'd like to join the group as a reader but mainly now as an author. I invite reviews but am not sure how the group works...Any advice? Thanks much! (Oh, and my pen name is Ellie Alanko--the book is listed on Goodreads but needs more reviews. "From Finland with Love" is currently available only on Amazon.)

Bowen Greenwood (bowengreenwood) | 1 comments Hello all. My name's Bowen Greenwood. I've just returned to my old dream of writing fiction, and what better place to start than Goodreads! I love thrillers, especially technothhrillers, sci fi, fantasy, and non-fiction about revival. Elan Carson (thewillowtreebyelan) | 4 comments “I am tossed, a grenade harpooned into the streets of Barbie faces. I have a detonation of hair and mutilated features: wide nose, thick lips, and boogie man eyes, deep when they hit the soul. I am enough to be a monster by society’s standards.”

Growing up in Detroit, Emma is Black, both book-smart and painfully awkward; as she is routinely confronted with the unrelenting sexual abuse of her stepfather, her mother slips away to depression.

Peer into her life and the stark reality of depression, abuse, and the battle to find oneself, as Emma experiences varying kinds of love. Her reality unapologetically draws you into the unsettling landscape of mental illness.

message 44: by K.W. (new)

K.W. Benton | 3 comments Hey There,
I am a new Author and would love for reviews of my book. "Over Cast" by K. W. Benton which can be purchased on Amazon.com. This is Y/A, Paranormal, humor.
I am a Musician/Computer geek's wife and the mother of two. I love a good story and listen to a lot of books so I can get life stuff done while getting in a good read. If I am not reading/ listening my mind makes up its own tales which is why I decided to write.
My favorite kinds of books are Paranormal/fantasy, historical romance, sometimes steam punk, Chick lit to a point (This is mood based reading and if it is super weepy and my life is already stress heavy I become a grumpy reader). Romances (but not the smut for smut sake. I like a good love scene, don't get me wrong, but the story has to get you there)
So, that's me. I look forward to hearing from you all.
Kerry

A.M.C. A.M.C. (adamcroft83) | 13 comments Hi all! My debut novel is now released, description as follows:

Nearly 10 years after witnessing the death of his family during an alien invasion, Alex is recruited as part of an elite group tasked with engaging the aliens at their home planet before they return to enslave mankind. However the group soon realise that their foe and the Galaxies are far more deadly and ruthless than they feared, and learn from another alien race the true extent of the 5 power forces which wield unlimited supremacy. After accidentally harnessing one of these powers it becomes clear that Alex’s fate is intertwined with the destiny of the power forces, and he becomes embroiled in a battle with the vast armies of his dark enemy across the Galaxies, leading to a momentous battle which will define the destiny for all living beings throughout the cosmos. Fast paced, full of action but with a real violent edge this book is ideal for anyone who enjoys Star Wars, Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones!

Interested? Check it out now - http://t.co/v4OAPslShY
