This was good but not great.
I really enjoyed some aspects of the story, but in general it didn’t make a big impact for me in any case. I certainly understand what this short story tried to do, but in my opinion, this could be done better.

I feel like the impact was lost on me too. I see a lot people calling it thought provoking and original, but it was entirely expected and not ground breaking at all? Yes, if you put someone in a traumatic situation, it will be traumatic. I don't understand why that was viewed as surprising or original.
