An old-school thriller by one of the masters of suspense. It was published for the first time in 1972, during the dark times of the Cold War and not quite long after WWII, so the theme of a Nazi organisation made to protect former SS members was quite a real one.
The story starts with the suicide of a Holocaust survivor, and the main character, a German reporter, navigates through a wicked word. We have Simon Wiesenthal as a piece of real history, Mossad is involved too, there are a lot of unexpected twists, which make the reading more than interesting. So, not a bad choice for the fans of the genre...
