When the sample pages, part of the introduction, have you laughing out loud, how can you not buy the book? I have read enough of this novel (25%) to be able to tell you that it is funny, off-beat, etc. I just don't have the patience for it. This could be because as a 70+ year-old woman with a cup of coffee at my side I am not in the intended audience. I suspect that audience consists of adolescent males smoking MaryJane (at least). So if you want want some wacky humor, get this and have some fun.

P.S. I'm glad I tried this book, even though I don't have the fortitude or desire to finish it.
