I received an advance review #giftedgopy and am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you, Partner @colebaxterauthor and @zooloosbooktours.
This author has such a brilliant ability to create engaging psyhological thrillers that leave the reader wanting more. Thus I jumped at the chance to be a part of my tour. This is my third book by this author and I continue to be impressed with the level of detail. It makes for an intriguing story filled with drama, intensity, and suspense.
In The Night Nurse, We meet Laura, who is an interesting character with a backstory of childhood trauma that impacts her as an adult. I enjoyed the backstory, it gives the story depth and allows the reader to better understand the dynamic between her and her father. Laura is going through a divorce and her wealthy aging (not to mention vile) father has dementia who needs looking after. Against better judgemnet, she moves in with him and quickly realizes she needs help.
Insert A brother/sister duo with extensive expereince and the story takes it's fist twist. While they are clearly qualified, something is off, and of course not all is as it seems. What I love most about well written psychological thrillers is that chase to figure out who is responsible and what they are hiding. This book didn't disappoint. I found myself on the edge of my seat from start to finish because I had to know what would happen next.
Overall, I highly recommend and can't wait to see what's next from this author!
