Because that's not always the first option when your families are trying to kill each other? Maybe it's better convincing them not to kill each other and reconcile, so no one dies. What do you think would have happened between the two families if the two teenagers, with the intelligence levels raspberry jam, decided to run away? I guess a carnage.
And a "Marriage of convenience" would have been maybe okay with todays moral standards, but not then.

What's this weird conversation on my review?

I agrees that it would have been way easier to run away. They "knew" they fell in love at first sight. They also knew that their households don't like each other either so they could not have ever been able to get together
i disagree that they should´ve run away together because then there is no point of the theme. I understand it will save lives but it would not have a story to tell because in the book it shows what love can make you do.
I agree with your post because I feel like Juliet would have just left with Romeo out of Verona if she didn´t want to marry Paris in the first place. I also feel like if she didn´t want to marry Paris she could have just said no at the ceremony.
I also question why they couldn´t have just ran away together because it would have been a lot easier for them to be together. At the same time I realize that how the play ended made a bigger impact on the reaction of the audience or reader even if it was unfortunate. It was very interesting to see how these teenagers felt they loved each other with so much passion that they were willing to give up their lives just to be together
Romeo and Jullliet couldnt run away because Romeo was banished andJulliet locked up. Romeo killed Julliets cousin so Romeo was out of touch. The messenger was sent to get Romeo but Romeo left before the priests messenger could reach him. therefore when Romeo arrived he saw julliet 'dead' (asleep via potion because she will not marry paris. The potion is strong so she can not be awoken.) and could not live with out his love so drank the poison and died next to his love. When julliet awakes she sees Romeo dead and like him can not live without her love so using Romeos dagger she to kills herself.
Before that Julliet falls for Romeo aand vice versa but their parents do not know. They plan to run but Romeo kills julliets cousin and is banished. therefore romeo can not run away with julliet and besides they both love their parents just not as much as they do each other. Also the suicide happened because they both were mad with grief. So that ends my reason why Romeo and Julliet can not run away. :)

oh wait, it's because they're teenagers with the intelligence levels of raspberry jam!
