this is my writing bible. It was the first book I've ever read of that nature, and thus far it has proved to be the most useful, informative and true. King narrows it down to the essentials in an amusing, useful way that any writer would be damned to do without. Even if you hate King's work, this book is a must-have and an exception. To think he wrote this while recovering from being hit by a speeding car!
