“You and me. Forever. No matter what it takes.”
First I would like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for gifting me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
I was absolutely delighted when my request was approved to read this final installment, I literally devoured the whole series in a WEEK!
So much pay-off and unexpected twists! and of course, scenes that gripped my emotions. This finale is definitely a rollercoaster ride!
There were a few teeny tiny bits that made me scratch my head, but I'm pleased with the outcome (without any spoilers).
Thank you Nisha for taking me on this thrilling adventure! I will miss these characters dearly.. And congratulations on publishing the final book in the Artefacts of Ouranos series ...more

It’s addictive. The way she hates me. The way she burns with that fire that glows so white hot, I ache whenever she looks at me. Like she’s always just on the edge of erupting and blowing my entire life to pieces. Not that I’ve ever been attracted to reserved or docile women, but she isn’t just wild, she’s practically feral, and I can’t stop fucking thinking about her.
We finally get some delicious and steamy slowburn in Rule of the Aurora King and we continue in the story five weeks after the events of the first book.
While it's predecessor focused on a deadly contest and court politics, this installment revolves around the quest to obtain an ancient artefact tied to Lor's past and the puzzle pieces begin to fit together.
This was unexpectedly spicy though I'm in no way complaining. The author warned there will be more angst and pining and she delivered!
While it might be a just tad slower in pacing, it is building up towards something which I expect will unfold in the two remaining books.
Onto Fate of the Sun King (book 3)!
Check my review for the Trial of the Sun Queen for the content warnings.

My soul was on fire, and I didn't care if I burned for all eternity. So long as I was burning with him, then so be it.
Quicksilver is a mash-up of everything I adore in fantasy romance. The banter and sexual tension was top-notch. That ENDING had my jaw drop.
I highly recommend the audiobook (I did a tandem read with the ebook and audiobook) the narrators did such a splendid job and gave life to the characters. I was LIVING FOR THAT BICKERING!
The author fleshes out the lore and magic system in a way that wasn't overwhelming to me, so I appreciate that.
If you're looking for a fun fantasy adventure with a sizzling romance (man the spice was spicin') and found family, then this is definitely a must-read.
I will say bear with some of the lore dump as it's necessary to set the foundation for the rest of the series (will it be a series? Trilogy? Or duology? Haven't checked yet).
The ending has me very hyped for the next book!
Content warning: explicit scenes, graphic violence, mention of death of loved ones some which were pretty violent (descriptive)....more

Rune needed to give in to this deadly attraction because it was the best way to make her worst enemy believe, with no more doubts, that she wasn’t a witch. That she had nothing to hide.
Finally!! An enemies-to-lovers fantasy romance that actually features enemies-to-lovers, and add to that a forbidden romance between a witch and a witch hunter!
The Crimson Moth crackles with tension and magic and delivers a slowburn romance between two sworn enemies who are scarred by a tragic past.
Rune was an entertaining character to follow while it took me a while to warm up to the enigmatic Gideon until he started to shed his layers.
I live for fake courting trope so I was delighted and squealing like a schoolgirl all throughout their scenes, but damn there were a lot of scenes that had me biting my nails as Gideon gets close to catching Rune and finding out she is the Crimson Moth. The stakes kept getting too damn HIGH.
The author did a marvelous job at creating a simple yet intricate spell-work and magic system. There are specific conditions and limitations to using spells, and it has dire consequences on the Witches if done incorrectly or excessively and I always appreciate it when authors know how to keep their characters' powers in check.
It took 50 pages to get me hooked but right after the book had a steady and fast pacing and I was wholly immersed into it. The events that keep on unfolding will have you on edge!
I would categorize this book as upper YA as it does have a bit of spice and sexual tension.
If you enjoyed Serpent & Dove and is a big fan of enemies-to-lovers romances, then you wouldn't want to miss out the Crimson Moth!...more

“I want you to look at your scars and know they were worth it. And I will look at mine and bear the pain, because eventually, it all led me to you.”
The Diamond King is a steamy Victorian romance slightly inspired by the Great Gatsby and Peaky Blinders and it tells of an innocent love that withstood cruelty and bloodshed.
But it all begins with a forced marriage between Grace Sommerville, the most celebrated pianist in London and Drasko Mawr, known as the Diamond King and the richest man in London.
Unbeknownst to Grace, Drasko has been watching her from afar for years, and he is absolutely enchanted by her and her music. However, this wasn't a marriage of choice to Grace so she set her mind to rebel and get herself out of it—but there is a plan executed by a heartless man and both Grace and Drasko are nothing but mere pawns in it.
There are many parts I can't mention as I think they'll spoil the book for the readers, but expect steamy and angsty moments for those two! and living in close quarters does heat things up quickly *iykyk*.
What you can expect?
— Forced Marriage — 10-year age gap — Scarred Hero — Mafia vibes — Angst — Spicy (2/5)
Content warnings: there are some dark themes and expect mentions of abandonment, death, child abuse, violence....more

“Your laugh is a song of victory, proving you faced their worst and not only survived, but came out with joy still in your heart. And that fucking smile, not to mention your eyes—the light still shining in your eyes—they are beacons to me, guiding me to my true home as they have since the first time I caught a glimpse of them.”
We continue in City of Mirth and Malice where we left off in the first book, so you are hit yet again with a sense of immense dread (without spoiling anything).
The sequel promises non-stop thrilling action and scheming while in parallel transporting us to darker settings. In a world of lethal magic and vengeful gang families, the stakes are extremely high and the potential consequences are devastating if one wrong move is made.
Milla goes through so much and her arc is done splendidy even if my heart hurt for what she had been subjected to. On the other hand, Nico is completely devoted and helplessly in love with his wife he is willing to burn the whole world for her.
Among all the seriousness, there were some lighthearted and hilarious scenes that made me howl! I adore the familial bonds and I consider them part of the backbone of the duology as much as the romance and magic system.
I think the pacing faltered a bit midway and the scenes didn't flow easily with so much happening, but it all builds up to an explosive climax.
I'm elated to know that this won't be the end of the world of Order and Chaos, I'm excited to see what Alexis has planned next!
Content warning: profanity, tobacco and alcohol use, graphic sexual content, mentioned death of a parent and sibling, gaslighting family members, brief breath play, torture, violence, and mentions of suic*de....more

Some look for love in flowers and sweet professions of adoration and devotion. Ours is not sweet. Ours is not naïve. Ours is a sick and cruel love born in a lab. Violence and obsession are only a measure away from passion, and our depraved passion owns us wholly.
Cruel Malady is a dark thriller romance following a psychopath avenging angel and an obsessive mad scientist entangled in a depraved romance that unhinged both of them.
Blakely is a revenge for hire, reaping vengeance for her clients who mostly are scorned women. On the surface, she is an avenging Angel, but if you look a little deeper you'll find someone with an immense desire to inflict pain.
And that's how Dr. Alex Chambers found his perfect subject.
It didn't take long for Dr. Chambers to find out the unwilling subject he *welcomed* into his lab is in truth a parasite—an infection invading his system and will be his undoing.
Thus begins Blakely and Alex's descent into unhinged passion and madness.
Lust. Greed. Covet—I’ve committed every deadly sin in the pursuit to own her, and I deserve my damnation.
I must say this book had a great start and I was following the story for Blakely more than Alex. I was intrigued by their connection at first but eventually the spark faded and I found Alex to be... bland.
I have no issues with obsessed MMCs, however his obsession surrounded his idea of fixing her rather than who she actually is.
I found Blakely to be a compelling character but I wasn't even rooting for her to be with Alex because of his own obsession.
I finished this book with mixed feelings and will be honest and say that I did have to skim through the pages (a better option than DNFing) because I was truly waiting for the story to reign me back in again.
It might just be a "me" issue and my own expectations since many reviewers here enjoyed it.
It wasn't bad but it just didn't win me over.
Trigger Warnings: this book is an adult dark romance which includes disturbing scenes such as abduction, dubious consent, drugging, death, murder, assault, violence, trauma, etc....more

“Give them hell,” he whispered to her. She smiled. He stared at her smile for a long, long minute, his magnificent eyes glued to her mouth. And the most beautiful, precious thing happened. His cold, aloof eyes warmed.
Damn. I feel like sobbing.
The Reaper is the second installment in the Dark Verse series and the second book in Morana and Tristan's duet and it takes off right after that life-altering scene at the end of The Predator.
Expect more tension. Expect more action. Expect more revelations. Expect more pain. Expect more romance.
Although Morana and Tristan will continue to show up in the series but I am feeling melancholic about not having Morana's POV anymore.
There are still missing pieces to the puzzle but important bits are revealed in this book that had my jaw drop and I can't wait to see shit go down in the next books.
Speaking of the next books, I'm so looking forward to Amara and Dante's story in the Emperor!!
This is a dark romance that includes triggers and explicitly content, check my review of The Predator for Trigger Warnings....more

“You’re my greatest temptation, Princesa. My weakness. The woman I spend every day and every night lusting over. It wasn’t supposed to be like this. If I had a shred of decency, I would send you away, far away from me, where my life can’t dim your light and stain your soul, where you’d be safe from my enemies. But I’m a selfish man, and I need you.”
Lust is the second installment in the A Sinful Empire trilogy and it continues where we left off with that shocking cliffhanger.
Disclaimer: this book in particular navigates through the heroine's trauma as a sexual assault survivor. There will be mentions of the scene of her sexual assault (she was a minor), her exploring sex and testing her limits and freedom, and she often speaks on her own experience and healing.
I think author handled the topic thoughtfully and she breaks the stigma of sexual assault survivors not being able to experience or be repulsed by sexual pleasure and kinks. Everyone has limits and every experience is different for survivors.
I thought I couldn't love Daniela more, but I did.
As I mentioned in my first review, I am impressed by Daniela's resilience and strength. Despite her choices being taken away, she still chose to fight and survive. She sacrificed so much and settled for so little just to ensure that her loved ones are safe.
Antonio grew on me more and he definitely got his cut of character growth, that doesn't mean he turned into the perfect swoon worthy millionaire hero—he is still the flawed dark alpha-hole who the author did not want to soften up much to not give him a total personality change and it makes sense when you look at his surroundings and the world he grew up in.
I still get mad at him for the things he says to Daniela, but there were moments were he so caring and soft towards her that makes my heart melt.
The book halted its steady pacing midway and it felt like not much was happening, and of course I was left with another concerning cliffhanger and I'll be jumping to the third/last book right away!
Trigger Warnings: graphic description of a rape scene whose victim is a minor, trauma, violence, torture, death....more

“Our fate—yours and mine—is entwined for eternity. For now, you’re safe, Princesa. But when I come back, it’ll be for more than a kiss.”
Greed is the first installment in the Sinful Empire trilogy—a sizzling billionaire mafia romance with an arranged marriage signed in blood whose victim is a runaway mafia princess who lost everything.
— Dark Billionaire Mafia Romance — Arranged Marriage — A soft yet resilient FMC — Alpha billionaire MMC with a dirty mouth — Slowburn (but not that slow) — Opposites attract — Spice level: 3.5/5 — Sexual exploration — Morally questionable characters — Portuguese Mafia Families — Action and suspense
The book opens with Antonio's POV 6 years prior to the main events and I was gripped from the very first page. I felt the tension and the dread as Antonio's fate was sealed sooner than he thought when Manuel D'Sousa's final moment had finally come.
“After I’m gone, Quinta Rosa do Vale will be yours. In exchange, you will marry my daughter. You will protect her from my enemies and yours—with your life, if necessary.”
Antonio and Manuel have signed a contract in blood to acquire Quinta Rosa do Vale, D'Sousa's valuable vineyards, and to marry his only daughter, Daniela D'Sousa.
Daniela was left with the burden of carrying a glorified legacy, but with so many enemies around her she had no choice but run away and leave behind her home Porto, the vineyards, and her family's legacy.
But even for six years as she kept to a private and simple life in the U.S. with her maid Isabel and her daughter, Antonio Huntsman shadow had never left her and it was time for Antonio to bring home his bride and fulfill the blood oath.
Antonio Huntsman is danger wrapped in a handsome package, with masculine ridges and angles along a powerful frame. Underneath, barely concealed by the refined wrapping, is the worst kind of danger. I know it. I know it in my marrow. I know it in every cell of my being. Yet some element of that danger is attractive.
Despite being her father's rival/enemy, Daniela have always been drawn to Antonio's dangerous aura, but that girl had shed her former self and the lavish lifestyle she had lived the moment her father died.
When Antonio returns Daniela to Porto by force he doesn't see the girl he remembers, she is hollow, desperate, and terrified for the well-being of her loved ones.
Any sparks Daniela had felt for Antonio died the moment she saw him for the first time in six years—he is no longer the attractive yet dangerous Antonio whom she had daydreamed about... he is nothing but a cruel and cunning man who probably wants nothing but to own her family's vineyards.
What if she knew beneath all that cunningness and cruelty is man who yearns for her as much?
“I am. Here’s a little piece of advice for you, Princesa. Don’t poke monsters. Because we’ll devour you without a shred of mercy—and toss your bones into the gutter.”
The couple won me over by the end of the book, the main reason I deducted a star was because of Antonio's borderline toxic masculinity (I mean he takes being alpha very seriously) and some of his questionable actions and words. Maybe because I'm quite defensive of Daniela, she's such a quiet and vulnerable soul with her own unique strength. She is so resilient and selfless and it makes my heart hurt for her.
The chemistry between is hot and captivating and the spice is off the charts.
I can't wait to see where this story is heading because that cliffhanger had me by the THROAT.
Trigger Warnings: violence, death, dubious consent, slut shaming, sexual assault, graphic adult scenes. Note that the book gets darker in book 2 as it tackles a topic that could be triggering to some readers (the author drops a note at the beginning of each book)....more
