First off, I looove the cover. ^-^
I wasn’t sure what to expect at first.. but from the title (Ex’s – A Second Chance Billionaire Romance) I could kind of guess. It is funny, emotional and sexy. This is the first time I am reading a book by Aria Hawthorne and I am glad I did.
Alma & Harvey are the main characters, they were previously married for almost five years before they divorced. I thought Harvey and Alma had great chemistry and enjoyed this story thoroughly. The writing just came alive with their chemistry. I don’t know who I loved more – Aria with her stubborn intelligence or Harvey with his cockiness and humor.
To be honest, there were a few parts that I felt were unrealistic; when Alma first talked on the phone with the “mysterious guy” (who’s actually Harvey, her ex husband…) she’s been texting. They did in fact see each other the same day.. In real life people’s voices don’t necessarily sound different on the phone.. sooo just really unrealistic…like how the heck did they not recognize each other’s voices!? :c Also, wondering why Alma couldn’t tell it wasn’t him in the first place?.. I mean, Harvey is a billionaire, and he told her and made her know that when they were texting. How many billionaires are in their city, jeeeez. And visa versa, Harvey not noticing this “mystery girl” (Alma), acting exactly as Alma would. 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Overall, kinda annoying at times, but It’s an enjoyable story. This is the first book by this author but I will defiantly her give her books another try! I recommend it!

Wow, what a story! I loved this book! This was a short but steamy mafia romance. The Russian by Renee Rose is the story of Yuri and Lucy. Yuri now works for the FBI but has been working undercover for the past three years as Don Diego's enforcer. He's been working undercover for soo long he is starting to feel like he really is the mafia enforcer that he is pretending to be. They have been trying to bring the mob down and catch the head guy. On this assignment he is ordered to kidnap Lucy, a DJ and sister to one of the Night Club owners, in order to get her brother to pay the money he owes. Yuri knows he is more than an enforcer. He is a man in love with his captive. I wish this one was a bit longer so that there could have been more character development but it works as a steamy novella. This is the first book I've read of author Renee Rose and it wont be the last! Can't wait to read more by her!

Wow! I came expecting one thing and got another!
The plot in The Vanishing Spark is full of action and romance. There's so much at play here - rebel groups, evil men, space journeys, and a divided family. I couldn't flip the pages fast enough! I just wanted to know everything! The romance was steamy. Lark and Kalen had such a great dynamic - I loved how they constantly would push at each other's buttons. Plus their ending was sooooo freaking adorable.
I think I've found a new favourite author and I can't wait to read more from her! I highly recommend reading this one! The Vanishing Spark of Dusk by Sara Baysinger comes out today, I can't wait to buy my own copy! :D

AHHHHMAZINGGGGG!
After reading and LOVING the first book, I absolutely needed to read this! And let me tell you I just DEVOURED this novel!!! I was hooked from the very first page and was devastated when I finished it and now I’m desperately waiting for the next book!! I NEED IT NOW! LIKE right NOW~ haha *cries* I wish I had a time traveler thingy so I could just hop into the future to read the next book! Gahhh!
Sooo, V Games: Fresh from the Grave, starts off exactly where the first book ended. Selena escaped Raskdød, she's currently in the middle of the North Sea on a yacht, with no fuel, no food or water and only static when she tries to call the coastguard. If someone doesn't rescue her she'll probably die. She's at the point where she would rather be back on Raskdød with the Helsings than on a yacht in the middle of no where... Sure enough, a boat sails up with a man named Ulvic, who comes to her aid, and he knows exactly who she is and while Selena doesn’t know if she can really trust him but she doesn't have much of a choice since staying on the yacht means death so, she takes her chance with him. Ulvic actually has his own island Skorpa, which he takes Selena to. Here she meets Ulvic's werewolves, Reason and Mekiah! I thought the werewolves were a nice addition! I know werewolves were in the first book, but they didn't really have a role until now.
Selena has a crazy plan to save Varick, she and Ulvic go all the way back to Raskdød. Which in my opinion was a bad idea, I would never, ever go back there :c ... Selena finds herself competing in the games once again, and while this time she has an idea of what to expect, she finds that the Helsings have raised the stakes with a whole new version of the games, on a whole new island, the Isle of Lidelse! Also, this time it’s HUGE, luxury hotel, strip club, casino, spa even the V Experience where you can actually kill vampires plus of course the games themselves. And let me tell you, IT IS BRUTAL! I thought the games in Book 1 were bad, these are so, sooo much worse!
This is novel two; so I definitely don't want to ruin or spoil anything... Mhmm, maybe I kinda did spoil a few things buuuut, I mean, its soo hard for me to not tell you everything!! Oh and the cliffhanger; WoWW, WOOW, WOW! There were many things in this novel took that I was definitely not expecting. I absolutely love this world the author created. I love every aspect of this series; it's entertaining, action-packed, fast-paced, adrenaline pumping, intense and super twisted.
I cannot wait until the next novel is released. I highly recommend this series!!

I don’t even know where to start!
Okay, first off, I LOVE the cover~
This book is incredible! The characters, plot, world-building is so amazing, unique, and unlike anything, I’ve read before. Dark Wish will hook you from the start, and you won’t want to stop reading. I absolutely, thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the description, but wasn’t sure if I’d like it because I thought, “oh no! Is this going to be similar to The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer??”… I mean, the whole “missing princess” but I was proven wrong! Similar in that way only, because Cinder wasn’t kidnapped as a child, like Makoto (Princess Rosalind of Helia).
Dark Wish follows Makoto, the adorable but slightly ‘crazy’ main character. Makoto, kidnapped at a very young age, is a prisoner/slave/experiment to ‘the Owner’ (Blair Aspen). Honestly, this beginning part is the perfect insight into how long she’s been living this life of trials and torment and how she’s the Owners’ favourite.
She does get rescued by 4 of her knights; Ryder, Elias, Daniel, and Marcus, there is a 5th Knight, Kai, but he’s back in Helia. But yeah, she gets rescued, and things finally change for her, in a good way, in a way that she never thought would happen; she gets to live in the ‘real’ world, a world outside of the facility.
Makoto strives to be normal but normal is hard when she was born to be different, and stand out. There is a prophecy about her that the Starlight Gods will bless her with 4 spirits (which is VERY rare, and no one ever has coped with that many spirits). But Makoto is such a strong character, that she can in fact cope with all of them! Also, having all these spirits makes Makoto soo powerful. She wields a power unlike any ever seen before, which is why the “Owner” favoured her. We also get to know and love her 4 spirits; Rose, Lexi, Lilly, Hope, and a ‘split personality’, Midnight. (There’s a reason I quoted “split personality” which I can’t say because of spoilers for the second book, which I just recently finished.) She converses with these spirits/powers in her mind. And it is hilarious! I absolutely loved Makoto and her shifter inhabitants. It’s one of my favourite things about this book! I love how it affected Makoto. It seemed perfectly reasonable that she would be a little too inside her head… orrrrr not, sometimes taking her internal conversations public without even realizing it, which was amazing btw! And the reactions from the people around her are great!
OMg Chapter 9 “operation badass bitch” was my favourite!! Makoto is such a strong character, and I thought this chapter really showed it!
This book had some of everything; action, romance, suspense, and humor. It really was a fantastic read. I still can’t get over how creative this author is! The world-building and backstory are exceptional. The characters are multi-layered and very intricate. THE CLIFFHANGER THOUGH!!! Brutal and shocking. It made me want to get the second book sooo bad! haha… but in my opinion, the ending felt really sudden…maybe a little tooo sudden… and I’m kinda disappointed with it.
I can’t wait to read more from this author!! I highly recommend it!

It’s well-written and the characters stole my heart. Ness & Josh seem like normal average people that you might know in real life, BUT they have each had a string of bad relationships and have decided to close themselves off so they won’t get hurt again…
A very quick read, with a ton of hot, hot sex! I love the emotional connection between the characters. they are strong willed and explosive when they come together. There were moments of laughter and anguish, but all-in-all it’s a story about finding love and holding on to it. I wish it was longer! I can’t wait to read more from this author~
When you want a romance that will singe your fingers, Erected is the book for you! I highly recommend it!

Full Review on my blog! Oh my, Oh my. This was quite a read! This is actually the first book I’ve read of Abigal’s and I’m hooked! I NEEEED moRE! AHhHHHH! Delayed Departure is the second book in the Passports and Promises series, but it can be read as a stand alone! Abigail Drake paints such a beautiful picture of Turkey. The descriptions of these exotic places are so vivid that you feel like you’re there. This wasn’t the typical romance novel; each character has depth and real emotions that are so believable and actually create foundation for love not just lust. I can’t wait to read other books of this author!
Delayed Departure basically starts off with, Greg telling Bethany he won’t be able to go on the study trip to Turkey. Going on this study trip with Greg is something she looks forward to but he backs out at the last-minute for a job offer! I know right! They had this planned for sooo long and he just backs out like that. At first I thought that Greg was a coward and selfish. I mean he basically just hides behind Bethany to keep his secret from his parents, instead of facing them. But at the end of the novel I feel like his character really grows and he really does change. Bethany is in a ‘relationship’ with Greg which we later discover is a fake relationship. Bethany has been covering for Greg for soo long, and it really has taken a toll on her. She constantly puts others before herself. She has grown up with a dream which was shattered two years ago and yet, but she lives in hope. She is literally living a lie. You can tell she’s not happy and is tired of it, but in her mind she has to. But as the story progresses, Bethany is more confident, and she finds a new strength in her that she didn’t know she had; she finally stops being naïve and lets herself be free, ultimately she becomes the person she was meant to be.
So Bethany ends up going on the trip on her own, at the beginning of the trip, she’s unhappy with the turn of events, but she quickly makes friends and start to appreciate the purpose of her visit. I loved how open and friendly all the characters were with each other.
On the trip she meets Adam, an Australian T.A on the trip. They hate each other at first, but slowly warm up to each other. Adam is a sweetheart. He is kind, considerate and doesn’t judge. But no matter what Bethany does, he finds a way to pick on her or make her feel stupid. The thing is though that he doesn’t know her and vice versa. I immediately fell in love with Bethany and Adam. They have such amazing chemistry and I’m a sucker for the “hate you-love you” type romance. They’re bickering and banter is classic and so perfect.
“I looked up and caught Adam staring at me. Again. He seemed quite focused on keeping track of me all day. I had a feeling he wanted to make sure I didn’t get into trouble again, but maybe it was more than that. Our eyes locked for an instant, and I felt certain he’d been thinking about the kiss, too. It made one thought enter my head and simply refuse to leave. If kissing him was so spectacular, what would sleeping with him be like?”
After reading this quote, I really wish we had Adams POV. The descriptions of the ways he looks at her, just makes me want to know what he’s thinking.
This book has mystery, history, romance, culture, travel, and humor throughout. I highly recommend reading this novel, such a good read and you won’t want to put it down, it will sweep you away from the very start. I can’t wait/ hope for more in the Passports and Promises series! :3 Now I gotta go pick up book one!

“You’re deflecting.” I just stared at her. “You’re right that self isn’t simple, Aza. Maybe it’s not even singular. Self is a plurality, but pluralities can also be integrated, right? Think of a rainbow. It’s one arc of light, but also seven differently colored arcs of light.”
Where do I begin? John Green is one of those authors that always brings the feels. Turtles All The Way Down is the latest YA Contemporary from best selling author, John Green. I’ve read other books by John Green, you know the typical ones, TFIOS, Looking for Alaska, & Paper Towns. Which were all really great, so I kinda had expectations going into this one. And let me tell you, WOOOW, what a novel. This is a book about mental illness, it’s a book about the power of lifelong friendship, and there is a bit of romance thrown in the mix.
It all begins with a fugitive billionaire and the promise of a cash reward. Turtles All the Way Down is about lifelong friendship, the intimacy of an unexpected reunion, Star Wars fan fiction, and tuatara. But at its heart is Aza Holmes, a young woman navigating daily existence within the ever-tightening spiral of her own thoughts.
Aza’s character felt super realistic and I am so impressed now. This was honestly one of the best depictions of anxiety or any mental health battle I’ve ever read. It didn’t sound like someone trying to write the concept… John Green has clearly lived this. It was incredibly raw, honest, and beautiful at times. Aza’s story isn’t the easiest to read, and she probably won’t be a relatable character to all people. There were things about her I could relate to, and I loved her voice. I also adored her friend, Daisy. Their friendship was actually my favorite part of this story. I also liked Aza’s mom and the Davis story-line, even though it wasn’t the focus.
“The problem with happy endings is that they’re either not really happy, or not really endings, you know? In real life, some things get better and some things get worse. And then eventually you die.”
I think everyone will relate to this on some level because the story grapples with the types of realizations we all face while growing up (so it’s kind of reassuring that we’re not alone in those thoughts). Aza spends a lot of time examining to what extent we author our lives and what our definition of “self” involves. But then she gets stuck in obsessive, infinitely tightening thought spirals that are SO well depicted.
“It’s getting sucked into a whirlpool that shrinks and shrinks and shrinks your world until you’re just spinning without moving, stuck inside a prison cell that is exactly the size of you, until eventually you realize that you’re not actually in a prison cell. You are the prison cell.”
This wasn’t the typical John Green romance with quirky teens, but that ended up being a refreshing change for me. Overall, I really enjoyed it and totally recommend. I am actually looking forward to whatever John Green writes next. I recommend it! Let me know what you thought!

I wasn't sure what to except at first, I mean I’ve read a lot of vampire books in the past. But this, this was quiet a surprise; this is a very unique vampire book! And I can't wait for what the author has in store for the rest of this series! I felt like the first few chapters were kind of slow, but I’m happy I continued.
The V Games was a riveting read, the whole aspect of the book was really amazing; I loved the different challenges and such. Although, this story is similar to The Hunger Games, it is different and the whole concept is very distinct. I thought it was well-written and Caroline Peckham did a great job at making it her own.
Fast pace, action, vampires, romance, what more could you want? This book is perfect and I highly recommend it.

Cinder is a retelling of one my favorite fairytales Cinderella. In this modern fairytale set in futuristic New Beijing, hundred years after World War IV, we are introduced to the main heroine: Cinder. A deadly and contagious disease is ravaging the Earth and killing its people, not to mention an imminent war against the people who live on the Moon (Luna), the Lunars. Cinder will soon discover that that the peace and safety of Earthens might possibly lie in her hands.
I have to praise the book for its originality. I mean, a cyborg Cinderella in a dystopian world? You gotta give Marissa Meyer props for coming up with that. I personally loved the world she built. It is a very fun read. I enjoyed reading it and I was interested enough to continue flipping through its pages eagerly. The writing is clean and very descriptive. I love Prince Kai and Cinder’s cyborg slash bestfriend: Iko.
Overall, I think Meyer did a terrific job with this retelling of a beloved classic. Likable, believable characters paired with a compelling story that had the right amount of tension and suspense made for a winning combination. The ending has me itching for the next book in the series, and I’m eager to find out what happens to Cinder and Kai, and the fate of Earth and Luna.
I strongly recommend this book to you if you want an awesome dystopian fairy tale retelling with great characters. And you might even have as much fun reading it as I did. :] Now, on to the next book in this series!

This book wasn’t what I expected at ALL, but once I settled into the understanding that it’s a YA contemporary with what I’d call a sci-fi overlay, I really enjoyed it.
The plot centers around a girl named Tara who feels out of place in her small town. When in a strange and sad turn of events, Tara gets wrapped up in the popular group at her school. She finally thinks that she is finding a way to fit in. But all of that is eclipsed when scientists discover another Earth, far out in the solar system. This new Earth turns out to be an almost exact copy of Tara’s own world; mirroring people, places, and events. Now everyone is left wondering how big an impact their decisions made, and if they had better lives on this new Earth.
The characters are all well-written and reading about their dynamics and relationships was completely absorbing and moving. The main character is the only person of color in her school and I particularly enjoyed her frank discussion of how this effects her and her feelings on the subject. All of the characters are flawed and some are more sympathetic than others early on.
While I enjoyed Mirror in the Sky a lot, there were some things I didn’t like as much, which is why I’m giving it a 3.5 rating.
THE ENDING THOUGH. I want to say the ending was amazing (which it was) but it kind of felt rushed and while some issues are tied up a little too neatly, others are left unresolved. Ultimately, I really enjoyed Mirror in the Sky but it needed something more.

I used to watch Joey, from when he had 100k subscribers, but now I hardly even watch YouTube. I had seen Children of Eden the video he posted, and the synopsis sounded interesting enough that I eventually picked it up. There are two things that should be noted about this book before picking it up. The first being that it isn’t written solely by Joey. I know there is no indication on the cover, it clearly states on the title page that it was written with Laura L. Sullivan. And the second thing, while this book is ostensibly a standalone, it really is not. The story does not end with any kind of resolution and actually leaves more questions than have been answered. I know there is a second book that was released a few months ago, whether I read it, is the question..
“But alone is good. Alone is safe.”
Children of Eden is a dystopian novel, set in a post-apocalyptic world where the sole survivors of Earth now live in Eden, where everything is regulated, including the human population. Each family is only allowed to have one child, in order to preserve the little amounts of food that exists in Eden. Second Children are illegal and are usually killed before they are even born. Those who have been hidden away in secret by their families, usually live a life of imprisonment and are not able to live a normal life, unless they are able to obtain black market lenses that are used for identification, and assume a new identity. Rowan is a Second Child and comes from a well-respected family who have the means to buy her a pair of lenses and a new identity. However, having this new identity and freedom means that she can never see her family again. When Rowan learns about this, she has her first act of rebellion and escapes from her house for a night. There she meets a friend but this taste of freedom leads to dangerous and tragic consequences. Soon, she finds herself on the run from the Greenshirts and meets other Second Children along the way.
“For a second I marvel at the technology humans can create. How did we get to be so powerful, but so destructive? With so much intelligence, couldn’t we see the point past which one begets the other?
I have mixed feelings on the writing. While most of the writing was good and much better than I had expected going into the book. I liked the world in this book a lot. It was well conceptualized and nicely described. But there was too much focus on World-Building, I felt like the there was hardly any character building… In my opinion it seemed as if, instead of letting the characters and plot develop organically through the writing process, the writers decided upon certain elements and wrote around them.
Like in many, many, many other YA novels, there is a preoccupation with eyes. A major plot point in this story is the people of Eden get fitted with “kaleidoscope” lenses that make them look “flat”. Then, of course, the government that is lying to everyone. Classic. And before I forget to mention the pubescent children who somehow are able to break into government buildings and take down armed guards. Another Classic! AND Of course, what’s a story without love/affection? Love that is immediate and unwarranted. Also, a love triangle…but not any love triangle; a bisexual love triangle. Which was cute and all, BUT DEVELOPED WAYY TOOO FAST… like unbelievably fast, and it felt extremely forced… I felt like there wasn’t much leading up to the ‘love’ part…. it was basically, from the moment of actually meeting Lark … ‘Lark, Lark, Lark, Lark, Lark, Lark,” I thought, “I wonder what Lark is doing, etc” (not a quote from the book, just my way of looking at the insant love)… Mehh…
“Lark rolls toward me, propping herself up on her elbow. She looks into my eyes and says solemnly, “I chose you.” Then, slowly, she bends until her lips touch mine. Her lilac hair tumbles over us, and though it I can see the stars shining. Oh Earth, they’re spinning! They’re dancing…”
I wouldn’t say this was a completely original story line, it did have some originality and it was entertaining at times. I thought it included some interesting elements, small twists and turns throughout the story that kind of kept me on my toes and turning the pages. But it’s definitely similar to other worlds that I’ve read about before. Having said that, I do think that too much of the book was dedicated to the world building and there wasn’t a lot of anything else in the novel.
One thing that was distracting and took away from the gravity of the plot was the fake curse words that peppered in throughout the book… I felt like the fake curse words were a bit stupid and very unrealistic. Though it became humorous to read the characters exclaiming “bik” or whatever like that during what were meant to be emotionally devastating situations… Yeah very unrealistic… This was one of the reasons why I’m rating this a 3.5 …
All problems aside, the story is intriguing, and I really did enjoy this book. It was an easy, quick read that was kinda fun. I think this is the first and last book of Joey’s I’ll ever review. Also, I’m not sure if I’ll read the next book in the series. I recommend it to those of you that like typical YA dystioian books.

We’ll Never Be Apart is a riveting psychological thriller from page one. It’s a mystery…a thinker…and full of suspense. From the first time I saw the wickedly amazing cover… I knew I had to read this book. The cover just grabs you and doesn’t let go.
The story revolves around Alice who is now in a mental facility after surviving a fire that her twin sister, Celia, started in an attempt to kill her and her boyfriend Jason, whom sadly did not survive. Alice is recovering and trying to get answers about her life and the events that led up to the fire. Alice is determined to find her twin sister and get revenge for Jason. She tries to come to terms with what her sister Celia did by writing her memories of her bad childhood in a journal. When she realizes that Cellie is in a different ward at the hospital, Alice makes it her mission to find a way to get to her and make her pay by killing her.
A piece of Alice’s plan just happens to be a boy she meets in her ward, Chase. He has some demons of his own and as he and Alice become closer, his story is revealed a bit more and he happens to be more than just the cocky troublemaker he presents himself as. Honestly, Alice is the perfect level of sarcastic which I love and her interactions with Chase made me smile. I mean the romance? (Kind of romance-y) between Alice and Chase was cute, but Alice’s constant moaning over Jason kind of ruined it. But when they first met Alice really tried to win him over to help her out with her plan, are some of my favorite interactions between them. I loved seeing their characters develop.
Emiko Jean is a great writer. Her words were quite poetic and beautiful even with the grittiness of the story. The whole book had this dark, almost spooky feel to it. I had a lot of fun with this and the characters were both engaging and well fleshed out. I would pick up another book by this author without hesitation in the future, in fact I can’t wait to read more of her work!
