I do think it's interesting how adept real life Aiden Thomases are at separating their public family man and good citizen image from their private monstrosity, but I was even more interested in the way this book depicts the victimization of women and women as survivors. There's a particular scene in one of Emily's second half chapters that is pretty chilling due to her lack of awareness of what is happening around her. ...more
