What did I read? The sick story of Drake (Billionaire, dominant) and Kiera and the hot mess of their relationship. In summary, Drake is the owner of Kiera's company. Drake fires her and Kiera goes on a campaign to do him damage. As it turns out, this put Kiera on his radar and it turned out to not be a good thing. Drake becomes interested in her, they get married and the fun begins.
Everything about this book was a hot mess. I did not like the 'hero'/Drake. He was the worst!! I truly do not think he redeemed himself at all. While I absolutely love an unapologetic character, he was a piece of work. He had a way of forcing people to do what he wanted. He refused to lose any battles. This is how he treated everyone around him, including Kiera. Kiera stood as strong as she could, but when she fell in love with him, that was her undoing. This book is BRUTAL. Drake was very heavy handed with Kiera, which I did not mind. It has so many triggers. This was a long book and it kept me engaged. The author does dark very well.
Why Not 5 Stars? No Epilogue - I wanted to know more about their future.
Editor!!! - I normally can over look editing mistakes, but this was just ridiculous. It was so distracting it took away from the story. If you can't afford an editor, at least have a friend proofread. A lot of the mistakes were just glaring: he instead of she. Always proofread!...more

What a pleasant surprise! This was my first Airicka Phoenix book and it certainly will not be my last!! I was not expecting a book to hold my attention as much as this story did. This story reminded me of a modern day Cinderella tale. Gabby is the outcast in her rich family. Her brother's uber rich best friend, Kieran, has had eyes for Gabby since childhood. In order for Gabby to escape her 'family', she does something dangerous and unexpected, which puts her in the direct path of Kieran.
There were so many twists and turns in the book that kept me on the edge of my seat! At times, I was frustrated with Gabby when I wanted her to come clean about her secret. I was frustrated with Kieran because I wanted him to come clean about his secrets. When all of the dust was clear, I was able to really enjoy this book. Interesting characters, some I really loved and others I really disliked. Again, I was pleasantly surprised about everything in this book. Good job!...more

I had mixed feelings starting this book, since I've read some really good ones lately. However, I was soon sucked into the story of Creighton (Billionaire) and Holly (On the rise Country Music Singer). Holly has a big issue to resolve with her music label. She goes out to blow off some steam and meets Creighton. They hook up and she goes about her life. However, Creighton has no clue who she is or where she went. He comes up with a plan to draw Holly back to him so he can have her again. Both Creighton and Holly's careers are important to them. Creighton believes his business is more important and Holly will not stop until her dream of becoming a music star is realized. So...clash of the careers is our storyline in this book.
I absolutely loved Creighton who has dominant tendencies, but I think he's a bit of a pushover. Time will tell. Holly is very strong and I like that she has a mind of her own and refuses to let Creighton and anyone else push her around. She is feisty, but smart. She knows when to fight for what she wants and when to back down. Can't wait to read the next book!
Why Not 5 Stars?
I thought the first book was short. I finished it in a few hours.
I'm cautious about Creighton's character - I have a feeling the author is going to weaken his dominant character to whimp status. I hope not, but we will see. ...more

Kayla and Gage are married now and are in a 24/7 master/slave relationship. Kayla is having some trouble adjusting to Gage's new level of control, the rules, etc. She does the unthinkable and pays a serious price for it. This was another cringe worthy part of the series for me. Gemma James just keeps it coming. Gage's punishments are the absolute worst. I wanted to feel bad for Kayla, but she knew what she signed up for. Gage does not play! There was some more drama that continued to keep me interested in the story. I continue to root for Kayla and Gage to win in their relationship.

Kayla has been living on her own without Gage or Ian in her life. When Gage tracks her down, he once again takes away her choices. Kayla and Eve are with him...period, end of story. Ian, Ian, Ian. He is fire to Kayla. Touch him and she will get burned. Gage continues to be the most dominant character I've ever read. As another reviewer wrote, Christian Grey is a whimp compared to Gage. This series continue to keep me up all night. I loved everything about it and can't wait to read the next book!

This is re-read worthy! This was a book that started out getting right to the heart of it: Kayla stole money from her boss, Gage, to pay for her daughter's medical treatment. Gage demands payment by giving Kayla a choice: be his sexual slave for 6 weeks or go to jail. Period. Kayla takes the slave route. From this minute on, it's hardcore. I admit, I've read some hardcore dominant hero's in books, but Gage...he is at the top of my list. He is the king of punishment. Kayla is in big trouble...that's all I'm going to say. Next book...

The final installment revolves around Price and Chere's 24/7 slave relationship, dungeon included. Price continues to be unyielding and Chere continues to be strong and takes it. Inside their home, they work as a couple. Outside of the bedroom, control starts to become an issue. I must admit, books about the slave relationship tend to turn me off. For some reason, this was so believable to me. Perhaps it was because it took 2 books to build up to it, but it made it believable for me. Price and Chere were not playing the master/slave roles, that's the way their relationship worked. This was a very well written series and I did not want it to end. Bravo!!! Bravo!!...more

This was OK to me. The story of Eva, who was living a privileged life and how she got caught up in some human trafficking drama, thus putting her in the path of the brothers, Gabriel and Syn. Of course, the brothers fall for Eva and try to get her on board. No secret, the sex was steamy and hot. However, the story did not hold my attention enough. In fact, I'm pretty sure I stopped reading this and read another book and came back to it to finish it off. So something was off for me.
I like the brothers and I liked Eva. It was just OK.
Why Not 5 Stars? I was not sold on the threat to Eva. While i understood it, I think the story needed more time developing the relationship between Eva and the threat, her past life, so I could root for an outcome. It did not matter to me if she stayed or went. I was not invested in the outcome of the story.

This was my first book by Nikita Slater and I'm now a fan! Very interesting story about Solomon (City Mafia kingpin) and Riley (Fiesty female Mechanic). Upon Solomon's first interaction with Riley, he wanted her and would do anything to get her because what Solomon wants Solomon gets. Riley, did not feel that way. She wanted NO parts of Solomon. Let the games begin! Solomon is so use to getting what he wants, he can simply take Riley and chain her to his bed and that's that. Wow!! I was hooked!
Loved Solomon! He was pure alpha, dominant, obsessive, possessive, jealous, bad-boy, rich, criminal... everything rolled up into one. He knew that he wanted Riley and would not stop until he had her under his thumb. I thought Riley's character was a good match for him. She was fiesty, smart, refused to let him walk over her, but yielded when she knew she was outmatched. They had really good sexual chemistry together. The drama kept me on the edge of my seat, never knowing how it was going to go down! Overall, very good interesting read! I'm off to stalk other books by Nikita Slater because she can write!

I have no idea what took me so long to FINALLY read this book! One of the best books I have read, a new favorite. The epic love story between Sevastyan (Sebastian with a 'v') and Natalie (college student from Nebraska). Natalie is searching for her 'real' parents and through her search attempts, she connected with her real father via her new Russian Mafia bodyguard, Sevastyan. The initial attraction is off the chain and continues to deepen as the story unfolds. I felt every emotion in this book.
Sevastyan was a man of few words, but his actions did all of the talking. When he said he would protect Natalie, with everything he had, he did! I found Natalie to be a worthy heroine, who was not wishy washy, she knew what she wanted, and I was endeared to her character. Sevastyan was one of those over-the-top possessive characters that I absolutely love. Unapologetic alpha, who did not care what others thought. Sevastyan and Natalie heated up the bedroom and everyplace else inbetween. Scorching scenes I was never tired of reading. Be warned, Sevastyan is a BEAST and some may find what he did to Natalie was a bit too much, but I loved it.
The author did an excellent job of not making Sevastyan's character turn to mush just because he fell in love. He was as strong and dominant from the beginning to the end. This is a book I will read again if I'm bored. Bravo!...more

I liked it. I was OK with the escort job. It's not my thing, but who am I to judge. This is why I like to read about things that just do not happen in my world. The story of Kelby (waitress) and Antonio (wealthy mystery man who needs an escort). Kelby is having a hard time. Her boyfriend cheated and left her, and she lost her job. She needs money to survive and a friend encourages her to become an escort for at least one very lucrative weekend. Of course she agrees and ends up falling for the guy, knowing it's a one time deal.
The sex between these two was rough, rough and rough! Antonio was no punk in the sheets! There was not much else to the story. The end was pretty predicable, but ended with a glimpse into the future. I started to DFN it and then, I kept reading. I had to give a good rating because it kept me interested and had me quickly downloading the next book.
Why Not 5 Stars?
Writing style - The style was rough for me. Not enough details when describing things that should have been described and then over describing small things. I usually do not mind some editing mistakes, but there were so many I noticed them and it started to take away from the story.
