He's straight, and recently divorced after ending a fairly loveless marriage. He's been having a tough time dealing with feelings he's having for Nick. Feelings that he doesn't understand, because he's supposed to be straight, so why is he having these erotic dreams and desires for his best friend?
Nick is a gay cop, but no one, not even his best friend Raff knows about this. Things went bad at his last precinct so he's gone to great pains to make sure no one knows about him. But he's in love with Raff and has been since they met. They "clicked" from day one and have spent all their time together since then, doing everything together, including going boating on Raff's boat.
Things come to a head one weekend on Raff's boat when unexpected events bring their feelings for each out in the open and they can't help but act on them. Then comes the angst. Raff, being straight, has a very hard time dealing with his new feelings and the new dynamics of his relationship with Nick so instead of dealing with it, he hides from Nick and his feelings.
I absolutely loved this book. I'm going to place it on my favorites shelf. It's a combination of all my favorites, GFY, cops, with lots of angst. I gave it 5 stars. It was written very well. My only complaint, if you could call it a complaint, maybe more of a, "I wish the author had done more of this" would be if we could have gotten more of Raff's perspective during the time that he was so emotionally distraught. We knew was Nick was thinking so it would have been nice to know more of what Raff's perspective was. The story would have been a bit more fulfilling that way. But regardless, in the end, we got a sweet HEA and the sex was HOT! What a great story to get wrapped up in. Not too long, or too heavy, just sweet, and sexy with lots of angst that gives stories so much feeling. I loved it!

James is a public defender who is divorced from his husband. His ex has custody of their young son, Max. When James has visitation, he takes Max to the local park where they meet Noah and his young daughter, Sophie. Noah is also divorced from his wife who cheated on him. Over several months of meeting up at the park, Max and Sophie become best friends, and James and Noah become good friends. The problem is that James is beginning to fall for Noah, the straight guy. Or so James thinks Noah is. He doesn't know that Noah has developed feelings for him and has had a brief relationship with a guy in his past. Neither knows how to tell the other and both are worried about ruining their friendship. An innocent request from their kids changes everything. Their feelings are revealed and they begin a tentative relationship. Things are hard because they both have lots of baggage and Noah is afraid of being hurt again, but it all works out.
This book is very romantic with lots of feels. It's very well written and one I would gladly read over and over again. I'll be putting it on my favorites shelf and recommending it to friends. My only complaint is that it wasn't long enough.

I’ve read this series from the beginning and I’ve loved every book. Each time I say this one is my favorite until I read the next one and it becomes my favorite. As always we get glimpses of some characters from previous books, which is always nice. But it’s fine to read as a stand-alone since you don’t have to know anything about the previous books. This book has some hockey in it but it doesn’t overshadow the book. The MCs are the cutest and sweetest pair. There is very little drama here and hit sex. If you are looking for a cute, sweet, and sexy book with really likable characters that can be read pretty much in one sitting (I did because I couldn’t put it down), this is the book for you....more

This is one of those books that I got angry at people for disturbing me because I wanted to just sit and read the whole thing without being bothered. It was sooo good! I read it in one sitting other than the times I was bothered. The characters are eighteen, so nothing squicky. I adored them. They've been best friends since childhood but one big mistake ended it all for quite a bit of time until one night brings them back together. One is gay and has been in love with the other for a long time. The other keeps saying he's straight but we all know what it means when one doth protest too much. So starts the beginning of a new and different kind of friendship. The real source of their problems are two major a-hole of fathers they have who also once were best friends but whom do everything they can to make them miserable. They persevere and we get a great story with lots of good feels and a great happy ending. This definitely goes on my favorites shelf and is one I'll be reading again and highly recommend! I listened to it on audible and the narration is fantastic, read by two narrators speaking for both MCs. The story is told in both MCs POVs, which is great because you get both of their sides of the story so it has a lot of depth. ...more

Christian is the star quarterback at a private college but his position on the team is in danger due to failing a class, so he has to get a tutor. They click right off the bat. Roary, his tutor, has a way of making Christian, or QB as he calls him, feel comfortable. They quickly become friends, which soon turns into something more. But Christian is in the closet for a lot of valid reasons, his football career and his conservative parents' reactions the foremost on his mind. Not only is Rory smoking hot with his tattoos, good looks, and brains to go with it, but he's he is always there to support Christian with loads of good advise. And Christian is floundering and needs all the good advise he can get since it seems his life is somewhat out of control and he doesn't know what he wants to do about anything. Because of Rory's support and encouragement, Christian slowly gains his own confidence to stand up to everyone and do what he feels is right for himself. When matters are taken out of Christian's hands, he kicks some tail and we get a very sweet, melty, tingly, satisfying happily ever after.
I've not read the two previous books in this series, but the characters themselves explain who is who so having read some of the other reviews after I read the book, I already knew who Mitch and Evan were and what happened in the previous two books. Rory even explains what he did in the previous book. So I think the author did a great job in that regard. For people like me who are starting here, you'll have an understanding of what went on previously since those characters do appear in this book. The dialogue in this book is fantastic. It really moves the story along. I liked Christian a lot, but I was completely in love with Rory. There is really good quirky humor here. There's not much angst. It's pretty straight forward. But I couldn't put it down. Work be damned. I set everything else aside to finish reading because I didn't want to stop. I was sorry when the book ended. I loved it! I'm definitely going to read the first two. ...more

Patrick surprises Will with a dream trip to Hawaii, but as is typical, nothing ever goes as planned thanks to Will's crazy family. Will and Patrick roll with it like they normally do, and Patrick keeps us laughing with all of his usual wit and sarcasm. It appears there could be another book based on some conversations they have and I'm thrilled to pieces over that prospect. Can't share without spoiling things. It goes without saying, this is another fantastic edition, right on par with the previous books in the series. One of my favorite series. I highly recommend this book as well as the rest of the series. You do need to read the previous books to really understand what is going on in this one. It's a cute story on its own, but to understand all of the characters' motives and references made, this is not a standalone. ...more

This is a very well written book with characters who have a lot of depth and a story line that is well fleshed out. It's also got a great cast of secondary characters.
Grant is an ex underwear model who now works for his family's highly successful real estate firm in San Francisco. It's a family run business because they are Greek and family means everything to them. Grant has a close knit group of friends. Miles is the secretary of his friend Eric. Grant finds Miles intimidating because he is pretty extravagant to Grant's quiet demeanor. When Grant helps Miles out of an uncomfortable situation at a party, things heat up unexpectedly between them. They find that they have amazing chemistry and can't shake each other. Even though they are both opposites, they both have issues. But an even bigger issue that Grant has to deal with is his parents' insistence on him having a Greek boyfriend. Between Grant's growing feelings for Miles and dealing with his overbearing but well meaning family, things start to slip out of control until Grant stands up for himself. There is a just the right amount of angst, a fair amount of humor, and some really hot steamy sex.

I have to agree with others and say the dystopian tag doesn't fit here. And it's a bit of a jolt when you realize the setting is somewhere in the early 1900s or so. You have no real clue of that until about 30% into the story. Not that it matters, it's just an odd fact and a bit of a shift on perspective. Kids are a big focus in this story but they are cute and don't take over the spotlight. Derek and Stiles's relationship has a slow build so it's nice and believable. The sex is smoking hot with an interesting kink you don't always see in stories (view spoiler)[cock docking (hide spoiler)]. I thought the m-preg was well done. Derek had to deal with an old enemy so there was some action in the story to cause them a little grief.
Overall it was well written. It's always interesting to see how different peoples' ideas are when they write fanfic on the same two characters. This one also had some nice artwork to go with it. I would definitely recommend it....more

Nikolai procures untrained slaves to make them into obedient and perfect slaves so he can then sell them to his clients. His biggest challenge is in breaking the bond between Matt and Dougie. The psychological torture as well as the physical is brutal. It's heart breaking too. It gets really dark. Both Matt and Dougie are faced with the fact that they are slaves and their basic human rights have been taken from them. Their lives have been erased. Like you would expect, they don't accept this and there are very brutal consequences. There are places where it's brutal to read. My heart went out to Matt and Dougie. I wanted to snatch them up and rescue them. As dark, violent, and twisted as this series is, I absolutely love it. There is so much depth to it and the characters. It's so well written. But I'm going to have to wait a couple of weeks I think before I read the third season. I read the first two back to back and it's pretty gut wrenching. It wrings you out. I think I need to take a breath between two and three.

It was from Bear's perspective, but we got a lot of Otter this time too. It was so nice having Izzy in the story. She's so much like Ty. I enjoyed seeing Bear and Otter plan for the babies. There was a lot of good humor, drama, and tears in that. It was interesting to see their roles change up a bit. It showed how much the different characters have really grown personally throughout the whole series. I was glad to see so much of Creed and Anna and their kids. Since this is the last book, I was glad the important characters (all of the secondary characters) at least made a showing. It made the book feel complete. And Ty and Dom? OMG! I love them. I wish there had been more of them though. I was really happy with the epilogue, in being able to see a little bit into the future. I don't expect we will ever get another book, but at least we have an idea of what their lives are like. I hate being left to wonder.
This has been one of my absolute favorite series. I've read it multiple times. Well, I've read the first three books multiple times. I'll catch up with this book before long. If you have the opportunity to listen to this one on audio, you'll be doing yourself a favor. Sean Chrisden brings the characters alive. If I could give this more than five stars, I would. ...more
