This is the first book out of the Tales of the Tarot series where I feel like it doesn't embody the card all that well. At least not prominently enough. From everything I've seen, chariot is meant to be action & success through self discipline and determination. I don't know if the storyline really embodies that. I felt like in the past books, at least the characters represented the upright, reverse, or both of the card meanings. Other than the physical chariot in the series, I'm not sure what I missed.
The concept is super fun. Age old Reaper is attracted to a soul he recognizes. The soul doesn't know who he is but there's a nagging feeling of déjà vu. I love the concept of two beings being drawn to each other slowly over time but I wish it was drawn out a bit more. There are some sweet moments but I just wasn't that into it.
I wish I had more to say but alas, I do not....more
