Bunny Tales is interesting. St. James does come off as whiny and spoiled in a few places. But I would whine too if I had to have sex with a wrinkly old man for money.
This book confirms my suspicions that "The Girlfriends" are really just socially acceptable hookers.
Overall an interesting look into the lifestyle of Hugh Heffner and his girlfriends. The book could have used better editing (dear St. James: girlfriends is NOT capitalized). But it wasn't a painful read as far as writing and editing go.
I would reccommend this if you're at all curious about life at the Playboy mansion. ...more

Well wait, let me rephrase that. I will check out Levithan. But Cohn's writing reminds me of student writing in a first level college course. And, might I offer a tip to Cohn, If you fucking use the fucking fuck word all the fucking time it fucking kind of loses it's fucking emphasis. I am not a fucking prude by any fucking means. Fuck is one of my favorite fucking words. But fuck. Get a fucking thesaurus.
Also, I was kind of expecting more music and song references. It seems like they talked about made-up (or I am totally out of the loop and haven't heard of them) bands. I was looking forward to a book with a soundtrack! Not so.
Alright I finally finished the book. Don't get me wrong, I love the Sookie books and think Harris can write a decent so far I am underwhelmed....

Alright I finally finished the book. Don't get me wrong, I love the Sookie books and think Harris can write a decent book.
She can't write short stories, however. These read more as chapters, and the action seems to be over before it begins. For me, short stories are read for the prose and the talent of fitting in a whole story in as few words as possible.
Instead it seemed that each story was the opening chapter of a her books (I'm sookie, I have a disability that I can read people's minds, I dated Vampire Bill, Vampires came out after the Japanese invented synthetic blood, OK, now that you've got all that let's move on to the plot....)...more

Well Harris made up for nothing happening in the book previous to this one.
Could she kill off a few more characters? The only one I am super sad about seeing go is Claudine. I don't think we've seen the end of Niall yet.
It's going to take some time to digest all that happened in the last 3rd of the book. For now a solid 3 stars, although I will probably come back with a more coherent review and a permanent, thought out rating.
(oh and as much as I dislike seeing characters I've grown to love bite the dust, that's one thing I love about Harris. She takes risks, and you truly never know how a situation is going to turn out.) ...more
