As for time around… I really do love Colleen Hoover. I love all her characters. I love how her stories involve real pain and real trauma and are not a pure “ride off into the sunset” sort of romance. Butttt I found myself lacking this time around with the ending. I’m okay with how it ended, but I wanted more. I feel like Atlas was shorted. I feel like he deserved more page time. I feel like we and Lily deserved more of him. And I guess that is wh I didn’t write what I was thinking the first time…

I’m going to copy my commentary from while reading below….

- 30% this whole time I’ve been listening to this book, all I can think about is the fact that I love Blake Lively but she is NOT the right person for this role. And what they have done to her with the hair and costume choices is even worse…. I’m tempted to say I won’t see it. I’ll refuse. But I know that is a lie. I’ll see it out of curiosity.
- 35% and why would they even want such a big name? I’m sure Blake is expensive. And she’s old… too old to play a teenager/young twenties girl. How the heck is Blake going to play a 15 year old
- 38% Atlas should be played by a Sprouse brother
- 52% Fuck Ryle. I want him gone. *at this point I should give a disclaimer that although I’ve read this book, I remember absolutely none of it. I think he becomes a truly abusive asshole based on the plot and guessing, but I’m not 100% sure
- 56% he promised to find her when his life was good enough to deserve her. Why didn’t he find her after he had his restaurant? 😭

I went into this book fairly blind, which I think is the best way to start it. So I don't want to give away too much info and spoil the story for you.

I will tell you this though, I thought I could read It Ends With Us and not react too much...not get emotional. Turns out I was wrong. There were certain parts in the story where I. Just. Couldn't. I had to take a breather and walk away for awhile.

Colleen Hoover is an amazing story teller. While I don't always enjoy the descriptive scenes, she has a way with scattering a bunch of things that seem irrelevant and bringing them all together. This book didn't end how it thought it would, but it was better than I hoped for. ...more
