Creature Feature Action

Small backstory:

The town of Hellum is surrounded by forests and not too many people venture out into the woods as something roams the depths of the forest. The habitat of a fierce creature is awoken when a man (Mason Thorpe) wants to build a pipeline through the area and him along with his crew of men start tearing up the forests surrounding the town. No one will be safe when the creature starts wrecking havoc in the town as what Thorpe doesn't realize is that they have

Huge thanks to Netgalley, Flame Tree Press and Brian Moreland for the digital ARC of this one!

Have you read Brian Moreland yet? I feel like he’s a name I don’t see shared enough on social media, nor his books. I’ve read a half dozen of his releases and have found I’ve enjoyed them all and loved a few of them. I was on the fence about grabbing this one, but his novel Tomb of Gods was SOOOOO good, and knowing how much I love cold-weather, folklore, creature features, I simply couldn’t pass this on

Winter storm, ravenous beast - what's more to know before diving into the depth of this book? The town of Hellum has a long-kept dark secret: a creature of legend and folklore that lives in the mountain forest and has an unnatural appetite. When a pipeline construction company disturbs the fragile peace, it awakens what should better be left sleeping in peace...but now the monster is on the hunt, and its hunger can never be satisfied.
Besides he obvious monster, the author creates another, which

I always enjoy Brian Moreland's work, particularly so his Winter Horror, and THEY STALK THE NIGHT,  his newest, is a fine blending of Winter Horror,  Folk Horror,  Historical Horror,  with contemporary issues common to current culture [domestic abuse, drug epidemic,  violence,  sexism, psychopathy, etc. ]  Arrayed against these pervasive negatives of the human condition are strong moral characters,  integrity,  familial devotion (mothers, father,  grandparents), and genera

Continuing their respective mediocre streaks, here’s another Flame Tree book and another Moreland book.
I don’t know about the author’s limitations. All I know is that I’ve read four books of his before this one, and only Tomb of the Gods was above average.
But I can speculate about Flame Tree, a press lead by a veteran editor, who previously headlined Leisure Pub and Samhain, before both expired. The man appears to have found his niche, a comfortable formula that works and sells, and he is sticki

This is a formal review of Brian Moreland’s We Stalk the Night. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a five star read for me. This novel will be released Tuesday, October 10th. The author’s ability to create an engaging and well paced horror fiction novel with well developed characters and a carefully developed plot, provided an edge of my seat experience. The suspense increased throughout the novel and I had a few jaw dropping moments as I read and I did not want to put it down! This creature centered novel was
