Risa has finally realized that she has feelings for Otani, and can't wait to confess her love. But dense Otani won't take her hints! With the help of all their friends and a romantic beach vacation, can Risa get her affections past his thick head?

Risa's fallen in love with Ōtani, but they've been All Hanshin-Kyojin so comfortably, for so long, that it's hard to bring the subject up. Especially since Ōtani doesn't catch a clue even when Risa tells him she loves him right out.
Much like Hana-Kimi which came out around the same time, this is pleasant reading with an appealing pair of leads, but I feel there's something missing. It isn't consistently funny, the emotional beats aren't particularly strong, and it runs around in circles a lot even this early on. As often happens with shoujo romances, the supporting characters aren't individual people as much as they are cheerleaders and emotional props for the heroine. Decent, unspectacular art rounds things out.
The last time I tried to read this, I got about as far as Risa and Ōtani going out (this is a shoujo manga, so this is no spoiler), and I wasn't up for several volumes of stagey crises, horrible misunderstandings, interfering would-be other girls, or whatnot. At least so far, it hasn't annoyed or bored me like a good number of shoujo comedies have, so I'll keep on with it.

Lit este volumen es el epítome de amor no correspondido, and I'm so here for it.
The (most definitely one-sided) love story of Risa and Otani continues! The name of the game is stupidity and the grad-prize winner is Otani!
In this volume, Risa has accepted her feelings towards Otani, but things get complicated when she finally has to put these emotions out in the open. If only he was smart enough to realize it himself!
This has been one of my favourite volumes so far! It's a roller coaster of desperation as you watch the frustration rise. I know frustration isn't normally a positive, but here it is the best thing ever. I think that having all these ups and downs in their relationship is what makes this good stand-alone love story. The story is just so cute yet pathetic and overall it really keeps true to the characters.
This volume will jerk your heart strings even if its about a high school first love. Risa is agonizing whether to tell her crush she likes him or not. I love the part Nobu, her honey and their friends play in Risa making her decision. They are so well meaning and you've got to love when Nobu is rocking her best friend role for Risa's sake. Love how Otani and Risa continually bond over Unibozu and how important his friendship with Risa obviously is to Otani.
The art is perfect for the story and there were many stunning frames throughout the volume. Chapter 16 was the best chapter so far in the series - the whole school trip angle was the perfect setting for Otani to air his own feelings.
BOTTOM LINE: Oh, Risa! Oh, Otani! I feel for them both.
Reread - It sucks to confess and get rejected, the manga really captures the feeling of liking someone back in high-school and having it not work out the way you want. Cheer up Risa!
SPOILERS: Risa cries a lot in this volume, and I mean a lot. She's emotional than all the other volumes combined, but it was touching. Can't wait for next volume in manga!
Some things haven't changed, like.... -Still obsessed with Umbozu
Risa becomes more emotional and sensitive about her height, and as much as she wants to tell Otani she loves him he's just so stupid to get the hint! She confesses to him on her birthday after he gave her her birthday present and they watch the fireworks, but he takes it in a friendly way! He didn't even know she was meaning it in a romantic way.... She does her best to ignore Otani, but they always somehow end up alone!!!!! Otani in the end thinks really hard about it and tells Risa "I like you a lot. You hang out with me and do weird stuff that no one else would do with me. But I can't just stop and like you right away. I'm really sorry".

Oh, the agony of first love! Risa is coming to terms with her own feelings, but what that means for those around her seems to be a lot of chaos. The one thing I really love about this series is the dynamic of her friendships play into everything. This isn't just about her romance...it's everyone's story.
This one is the best so far! Not only because it was really funny and Risa has finally confessed but because how amazingly beautiful this is drawn. Seriously, there were some pages that I just couldn't stop staring at, I really loved it.
Annyira tudnak ezek a helyzetek fájni – azok a mondatok, a reménykedés, a gyötrődés…
It is so sad that Risa just wants to be perceived as a girl and because she doesn't have the 'standard' characteristics of a girl, she isn't viewed as one. And her example could be applied to anyone, it doesn't have to be about height, it could be due to whatever external or internal characteristic (appearance or personality) that makes you stand out from the others. It just goes to show how much others' opinions affect our view of ourselves, no matter how much confidence we may have...
Also, I want to point that Otani is put in a difficult situation with the confession because imagine yourself having a friend of yours confess to you.. you can't think of them as a lover instantly when you have thought of them as your friend for so long... So Otani's reaction is understandable too, just his comments sometimes are insensitive as heck.
I really like our leading lady, but her meddling friends are the woooorst. Encouragement is fine, but constantly pushing and watching and scheming is not. I feel sorry for her trying to deal with her feelings with those clowns around.
And of course, her love interest is denser than a black hole. Poor girl. Hope things go better for her soon. Like getting a new love interest to at least boost her ego.
But I'm pretty invested and there are some good comedic bits so I'm continuing with the series.
Divertente, ironico e leggero.
SO. This volume was actually really good. We haven’t really seen a lot of Otani, but I think it makes more sense the way he’s acting now rather than him being completely on board with Risa confession considering how dense he was at first. On a completely unrelated note while reading this there was some big ass bug in my room that scared the shit out of me so not fun….
