The Huntress is a forbidden, paranormal, dark fantasy novella featuring a BIPOC FMC and touch her and you die vibes. I loved this book. It was an amazing read with lots of spice and a cliffhanger that has me desperate for more.

This is a short story, but there is a ton in the book and I really want to know where the story will go next!

DNF pretty early on. It's clear that there weren't enough, or diverse, sensitivity readers for this book. The race descriptors are heavily off. Black people do not refer to themselves as having "black skin", like the color black. It felt like a checklist to not be "problematic" by adding a bunch of stereotypical descriptors about Black women, such as "smelling like cocoa butter."

Not for me at all.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Although short in pages there was a lot of story crammed into it. I'm glad there's going to be more than one book as I'm intrigued to see where this story goes.

The possessiveness was perfect I do love a growled you're mine! There were quite a few twists and turns and again as it was a short book these were a quite quick turn around and I would have loved to have explored then in more depth.

I did recieve this as an Advanced copy and there were a few inconsistencies with the MC age and also some duplicate pages hopefully these will be rectified before release.

The spice in this book gets a big fat 5🌶 there were plenty of scenes with well written smexy time!

All in all I enjoyed the book but ultimately I would have loved it to have been in a bit more detail and made longer. 🤞🤞 the next one is out soon so I can carry on with the Huntress.

I enjoyed this book. This is my 1st book by the author. It’s a short story. I don’t mind short stories. Kacelah is the huntress for the King of the underworld. She and her Fae partner go out hunting together. Kacelah wants revenge for her family. So she will do whatever it takes to survive. To bad reaping souls isn’t the only thing the King wants from her.

ARC received from the author. A generous three stars. The math on her age made no sense and the writing was awkward. Read like a debut novel but this author seems to have written several other books. I would have appreciated about 100 pages more but I do plan on reading the next one so hopefully that makes up for what was missed. It's hard to make romantic connections work in less than 100 pages but at least the sex scenes were good.

✔️ FMC with (2) brothers

This was a perfect and quick introduction to this new Series, 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘏𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴, by C.M. Hano. It gives you enough detail to get to know the characters and bit of a back story. I love the fact that our FMC is a beautiful badass black woman. I love the representation of the black comunity. She is a real force to be reckoned with and isn't affraid of anything. The men in this book, demon brothers Kian and Killian, are not opposed to violence and have the tendency to rip out the hearts of anyone who threatens their little huntress. And I am all for it!!! A lot happens in this short novella and that cliffy had me gasping and saying "Noo!!! Don't end now!!! I need to know more!!" I hope we won't have to wait for a long time to get the next book in the series. Also, the spice in this book is a real nice addition.

"𝘐𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘸𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘺𝘰𝘶, 𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘺 𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭, 𝘺𝘰𝘶'𝘷𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘵 𝘶𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨. 𝘞𝘦'𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘜𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨."

Overall, this book really reminded me of a sexier version of the Shadowhunters world and I am all for it. So, if you enjoy reading about a badass FMC human that enjoys killing monsters...than this is the perfect book for you.

The Huntress is the 1st in the The Huntress series by C. M. Hano.

10 years ago, Kacelah is forced into a life debt with a Demonic Fae, the King of the Underworld. Now a ward of the Underworld, she spends her days killing monsters and taking their souls to Purgatory. Her best friend, Kian, is the youngest Prince of the Underworld, the Prince of Ash who commands the shadows and The Blade of Azrael. The eldest prince, Killian, is the Prince of Death.

The one mistake anyone could make is messing with the Ward of the Underworld. Much less, the woman who holds the two Princes' hearts in her hands.

Even though this is a novella, I felt like we barely got to know the characters and the story felt rushed. But I was very intrigued from the beginning and with the cliffhanger at the end, I believe the series has a lot of potential.

I have to be her villain. To be everyone's villain so we can save her and the rest of the Underworld.

There were some inconsistencies that had me rereading parts to make sure I wasn’t misunderstanding. I liked the story line, but it does end on a cliffhanger. I feel like I would have liked this more as a full length book, than a novella with a cliff hanger. But that is just me wanting to know what happens, and me being greedy 🤷🏼‍♀️

The Huntress was saved 10 years ago from monsters that attacked her family. She owes the King of the Underworld a life debt. She trained for 5 years and now goes on missions to take out the rogue monsters like those that attacked her family. The two Princes of the Underworld have been warned not to even think about looking at her, but after spending a decade with her they make their moves. Will she risk everything to be with either of them?

I enjoyed the story and characters and love the ménage romance and want so much more of that. I really enjoyed Killian.

There is so much story in not enough pages. I understand this is supposed to be an intro to this world, but there was way too much happening that we could have waited to learn later on in the series.

Her age kept changing in the story so that was annoying. And there were certain lines in the dialogue that seemed off and just extra.

The story was good and interesting, it was just the execution was a little awkward. I will however continue to read the series because I did enjoy the characters and the storyline and want to know more.

For being so short, it has a great plot and tons of spice. The characters are easy to love. The world is vast, and there’s so many different ways the story could go. There was a lot of secrets and deceit going on. I couldn’t tell who I should be trusting. That ending had me in shock! I can’t wait to see where the next book takes me.

My only complaint is I was confused sometimes about what was going on. I had to reread some sections to grasp certain parts. I’m not sure if it’s because I had an ARC copy. It didn’t stop me from enjoy the story though.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

This was a really good, and really quick intro to this series. It's definitely hooked me and I am intrigued to read the next book when it comes out (hopefully soon).

The prince's of the underworld have definitely got my attention, and I love the pure baddassery of the FMC.

It could have been SO much longer but I know what the author was trying to do and I think she has done it really well.

Can't wait for the next book to drop.

The Huntress is a short Paranormal Novella. I really enjoyed this quick intro into a new world and new characters. It has a good start to a storyline, and the spice between Kacelah and the two princes is 🔥. A few parts confused me but I’m looking forward to reading a full length book and seeing how things can come together I need to know how the story progresses from where things left off because that cliffhanger has me hooked and I need to know what happens next.

I seldom DNF but I'm not sure where the author was going with the way she is describing her black character, no one black describes themselves that way, it was bizarre and annoying and it made me uncomfortable so I'm not going to continue reading it. Not all black people smell like "cocoa butter' and I've never said that something complements the "black color of my skin" you know, on account of the fact that my skin isn't fucking black...Sigh

This was a really fun, spicy little novella! Kacelah Roett is the human ward to the King of the Underworld, and she is known as the Huntress. She’s struggling with her feelings for both demon Princes, Killian and Kian. I loved Kacelah because she was bold and sassy. Killian and Kian were charming in their own ways, as well!!! The steamy scenes were amazing, and that ending… I can’t wait to see what happens next!!!

This novella was absolutely incredible! It was spicy and dramatic. Filled with unexpected twists and chaotic turns! The characters were entertaining, while not super deep for the short length of the story. The plot and world building were an incredible start for the world!

I definitely cannot wait to see what happens after that cliffhanger!!

Give me ALL the “touch her and die” vibes! And who doesn’t love a good growly “Mine” 🥵A forbidden paranormal romance with quite a few twists and turns. For being 98ish pages there was a lot of story crammed in. I was pleasantly surprised and was happy to hear there is going to be more to the story.

Omg I loved the growth of characters that needed to grow. The love triangle is amazing, the battles and the scars that are needed to show the strength that was needed for her to kick butt all the time is 👏

C.m you did it again, a other book that I didn't want to put down. Thank you for letting me be part of your arc team!!!!

A quick and spicy why choose with demons. There was a lot crammed into a very short story. I found myself needing more character building and maybe a little more world building. I think there's a lot of potential though!

This was one quick ride.

If had been longer I would of gotten more depth of characters. I felt this moves very quickly. Spice was instant and not much build up or back story so I would want more of that next time. But overall decent series and I can see potential in the next books.

This book was not it for me. I had to dnf it. I'm not sure what the rest of the series is going to be like but this book was extremely rushed for me especially for me trying to get into it. I really wanted to like it but it just was not for me.

I got this as an arc for my honest review.

I really enjoyed this intro novella to the series. I can’t wait to see what happens in the story next because that cliffhanger…. Whew! Leaving Kacelah, Kian, and Killian in that situation? Rough. But I’m here for the next book.

The Huntress has the bones of a good paranormal romance. However, every aspect of the novel felt underdeveloped and read more of a highlight reel of erotic scenes instead of a true narrative.

This is a short but dirty read. The storyline is there in under 100 pages. It was dark and twisted but an incredible pallet cleanser. It is a dark fantasy with plenty of forbidden smut and more enjoyable than I can describe. Check the TW and then dive in.

This wasn’t my favorite book that I have recently read but it’s not bad. I would read the next book just to see what happens but it’s not something I’m dying to read. This is about a female main character who is essentially trapped and tricked into basically servitude but she has feelings for the main male characters. I just felt it was very redundant and the redeeming qualities weren’t exactly there.

Very enjoyable dark fantasy novella featuring a black FMC and brothers who just happen to be the princes of the underworld. No biggie LOL My first read by C.M. Hano definitely won't be my last. The dedication had me giddy!

There were some plot twists that gave a bish whip lash but made the cliffhanger even more exciting. The spice was plentiful and creative. I've always been a fan of unique and equipment.

Highly Recommend
