Darcy doesn’t trust a good thing. How can she when the voices of her bullies are still ringing in her head asking questions like why would the tattooed hottie who could have any girl he wanted be interested in her?

This was such a good novella!! I love each second of this story!! And I enjoyed the secondary charas and cant wait for their stories.
Darcy is such a sweet, shy and has low self esteem since when she was younger she had scoliosis and had to wear a brace which in school caused her to be bullied for being different and bigger, and I love her friendship with Indie who always has her friends back. They both head to a popular tattoo place to get Indie a tattoo where they meet Atlas and his tattoo crew family!!
Atlas is already head over heels it was so adorbs to see this guy who is so dominant and tattooy lol be so sprung over Darcy even when Darcy didnt think he would go for someone like her. He was so patient with her when she had doubts. Their relationship was so good.
I'm such a sucker for this type of man.. 💕💕💕 cant wait to see what the others bring.
Indie and her man are next and I cant wait to see what happens!!
No om/ow drama (unless you count the flirty random woman getting a tattoo), secondary chara, sexy times, virgin gal idk if he was a virgin

This was a good start to a new series. Atlas looks the part of bad boy tatooer but he is far from it. He was a good man who grew up with absentee parents. He doesn’t like to be alone and has built himself a nice family in his friends from the tattoo shop. The moment he sees Darcy he knows she is the one for him. Darcy was raised by her grandparents and had scoliosis growing up. Kids being cruel made fun of her right to graduating high school. This has helped shape who she is and her self esteem. She can’t conceive why Atlas would like her and struggles with the way she looks compared to him. There are some touching and emotional scenes that all us ladies can relate too. We’ve all felt just like Brooke.
Safety and Spoilers Completely safe. No om drama, h sees H with another woman in his room at the shop. She jumped to conclusions assuming he was cheating when he was turning her away. H never got involved with clients. H’s past isn’t mentioned by H. His friend Mischa mentions he doesn’t think he’s ever had sex but in H’s inner thoughts it didn’t sound like he was. h is a virgin. No physical abuse but h has been bullied her entire life by her classmates.
So I picked this up on a complete whim. I read the blurb for it and I just had to read it right now and I honestly can't tell you why. Not that I can think of a single reason why not but for whatever reason this book hit me with a bang and I grabbed it on KU.
Darcy was a little weak and sheltered for my liking but that was fine since Atlas more than made up for her lack of character. I mean seriously if the dark black hair and light blue eyes don't have you melting why not throw in a body full of tattoos and a few well placed piercings? And then to just go for the kill shot let's make him all kinds of sweet, caring, jealous, possessive, obsessed and besotted and we have ourselves the perfect book boyfriend.
This story was all things insta love set in a tattoo parlour surrounded by eye candy and I loved it. It was a quick hot read that I could pick up before bed that is going to guarantee sweet dreams and a happy hubby. I can't wait to see how Mischa and Indie play out in their story next.
Ooh, this one was a good one. It had some really sweet moments as well as heat. No pm/ow drama (there was a slight misunderstanding but no catty drama). Heroine was a virgin but not in a trope/ gratuitous-ish way. It made sense with her background. It would have actually been incredibly dumb if the author had avoided that just for posterity’s sake. The hero wasn’t, but his history wasn’t thrown in your face or anything. He was sexy as hell. They really fit so well together! Overall this was such an enjoyable read, and I desperately needed it after reading several duds lately. No complaints!
I always look forward to when this author releases a new book because I really like her style of writing and I couldn't wait to dive right into this new book series. I'm so glad I picked up this book because it was an awesome story that I just couldn't get enough of. This is book #1 in the Eye Candy Ink Series.
Book #1 Atlas Book #2 Mischa Book #3 Sam.
This is Atlas and Darcy's story and oh how I loved these two.
Atlas works at Eye Candy Ink with the other guys and is an awesome tattooist. He is also the youngest and is also extremely sexy and is also very loving and really takes care of the people in his life that he loves. He loves his job and thinks he's got things figured out apart from love. That is until he sees this woman looking so beautiful and has such a banging curvy body that he knows that he wants her, she's unlike the usual women that just throw themselves at the guys she seems so shy and so beautiful and so unaware of her beauty and Atlas falls so hard and so fast that I think even he wasn't expecting what he found.
Darcy is not like other woman, she's not that bothered about make up and she loves to work outside with her business doing landscaping. Darcy has been through some tough times and she doesn't trust easily. At one point she completely gets her wires crossed and has a total misunderstanding and I really feel for them both. Atlas falls apart completely when he thinks that he has lost her. Darcy and Atlas both need love in their lives and these two are prefect match together. Can they both work it out and have the love that they both need? (NO SPOILERS)
This author really knows how to write her characters and once you start reading you are really invested in this story whole heartly. This is a real instalove story that is also hot and steamy and its a fantastic romance read and the chemistry between them both is electric and you will love them.
Atlas is such a beautiful person that he loves completely with his heart and soul and I think he's a great guy that you wish was real. You also want Darcy to be your friend too, she has low self esteem and did have some problems with her back when she was younger and I love and really feel for her with what she has been through and the fact that she has body image issues like a lot of people. I love this authors work and I look forward to reading more of her work in the future. I need to read book #2 NOW LOL! I couldn't put this book down and I finished it in one sitting and I can not wait to start the next book in this series.
This was a cute story. Loved the characters and their loyalty. I also loved it was set in Pittsburgh. What brought it down for me was the beginning dragging with too much descriptive info such as coat racks etc.
. #Bookstagrammers #Bookstagramcol #Romance #Romántica #Reseña #Review #Books #ShawHart #Recomendaciones #SpicyLove #Love #Amor #EntreBooktagramers #AtheneBooks #EyeCandyInk #AtheneTranslationServices #AtheneSpanishBooks #AtheneTranslation #AtlasSpanish #AtlasYDarcy
Ok, so I tend to read the things that I like. Like, I love F1, so I had to, of course, read Lauren Asher's Dirty Air series. I really love the Premier League and am an avid Spurs fan, so I read a romance centred around the PL. If you know me, you'll also know that I am Christmas personified, so I love Christmas romances. So, it should come as no surprise that when I spotted a romance centred around the different couples at a tattoo studio, I immediately downloaded it, considering the amount of time I spend at a tattoo studio.
But this book was just a massive miss for me. Firstly, it had instant-love which I have heard people talk about hating in books, but I haven't really seen it before and this insta-love vibe gave me massive red flags. He immediately claims her as "mine" and upon meeting her corners her when she goes to the bathroom. EXCUSE ME, but dude, your possessiveness reads like harassment.
And then we had a plus-size MC. I want more plus-size MCs but I would love if authors could write them as fierce badasses instead of allowing their self-deprecation to be such a huge force that - in this case, they settle for ass-hat love interests. And then ON TOP OF THAT, she was a virgin, which I have nothing against, but I found it all the more unsettling that our MC would immediately settle for a man - who by all means is displaying some crazy red flags - especially when we factor in her lack of self-confidence and that this - essentially - is her first intimate relationship.
All round, it was good spice, but a crap book. I gave 2 stars because I actually finished this one, and that's gotta count for something.

this just, wasn’t really it. the book starts out okay, but the writing soon turns weird, with each of the characters describing every little detail about the environment they’re in. yes, it helps imagining the scene better. but if i’m, in the duration of three pages, introduced to five new characters (i think), four of them male, and for each skincolour, height, build, eyecolour and hair colour are described, then that’ll just bore me. and it sounds harsh but to me this read a bit like bad fanfiction. the writing was not my style. and although i loved that we had plus-size character as the main lead, the book lacks representation besides that. the characters are all white from what i remember, and they all seem pretty straight (atleast all of them have an opposite-sex relationship in future books). it also seemed very unrealistic for me how they immediately fell. they looked at each other for one second and then basically already were at the altar. i also felt the characters lacked depth, which might also be because the book is quite short, so there was less time to get into their storylines. i liked the body worship from atlas towards darcy, but him claiming her as “his girl” when they weren’t even really together yet made me deeply uncomfortable.
Don't let the tattoo shop setting and inked bad boy on the cover fool you, this is a very sweet contemporary romance. Beneath Atlas' piercings and tattoos lies a heart of gold that only beats for Darcy. He sees her, truly sees her, in a way that she doesn't even see herself and it is very endearing and romantic. Darcy struggles with overcoming childhood insecurities and accepting herself for the strong, beautiful, independent woman that she has grown up to be. They complimented each other very well as a couple. I liked that this book was told by dual POVs so we got each of their perspectives. I also liked Atlas' coworkers and I'm glad to see that each one gets their own book in this series. I love interconnected character series and Eye Candy Ink is no exception!
One of my favorite things is when I discover a new to me author and fall hard for them. “Atlas” was my first book by Shaw Hart and I really, really enjoyed it. This is a short InstaLove romance read and there is nothing I like more than to be able to read a book in one sitting and get all the feels. This book has a sexy, tatted, determined main character. Once Atlas spots his woman, he.goes.after.her. Darcy is sweet, shy and curvy and willing to take a chance on the man of her dreams. Atlas and Darcy fall and they fall hard, and it makes for one helluva sexy, sexy ride. An added bonus, this book is filled with fantastic secondary characters, that I look forward to reading about in their own books. I highly recommend this short and easy read. TBR and enjoy! (I read an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.)
I finished this in one setting. This was a quick and fun read. I love reading about men with tattoos and piercings...I mean who doesn’t!? This story is about a tattoo artist who’s basically looking for love and when Darcy walks in with her best friend so she can get a tattoo, she catches Atlas’ eye and it all goes down hill (in a good way) from there.
This is definitely an insta-love book which I’m not too fond of but this one worked. The chemistry was there and what I loved the most was that the heroine has CURVES! Yess girl!
If you’re looking for a quick read with tattoos and piercings and a little insta-love, this is it for you.
I loved reading this story. As much as I enjoy this authors short stories, this one pulled me in, and hooked me from the beginning. There was so many details, but being the first book in a series, it was setting the larger stage for the upcoming stories, and I can’t wait to read this complete series. So many feels, I actually had a tear or two. Happy feels too. Very well rounded. Perfect epilogue for their story for their own perfect HEA! OMG, I loved this book!!
I need the next book pronto! This has become one of my favorite books by Shaw Hart of all time. Darcy was so relatable and Atlas was such an awesome guy. I couldn’t have asked for more!
Booktok talked me into this and it was recommended with glowing reviews… On a purely literary stand point I have some complaints. If half the time spent describing the characters was actually spent building the characters maybe I would feel much differently but oh my god. The characters talk with so little depth that I fully believe you could take out all the dialogue and leave not missing any information. I give 5 stars unless it really really drastically upsets me but I found myself making strike marks as I read to determine just how painful it was. Obviously I finished it because I’m not a quitter but if anything (of the many strikes) almost made me quit it was the boo hop I’m so fat because I’m… 170 pounds…. Dear god if you’re gonna try and go for a ‘plus sized’ ‘curvy’ ‘insecure’ doesn’t know she’s beautiful type’ don’t go and drop a weight that’s very average? Or better yet don’t go dropping weights at all Jesus Christ.
A full length TATTOO shop book / series from Shaw!?!? YES please!
I really loved that Atlas was this hot tattooed hunk that wasn't the gruff rough bad boy you would expect. Instead he was a sweet and caring guy looking for the love his life had always lacked.
Darcy was relatable because she was a curvy girl who'd had a series of hard times in her life and she truly couldn't grasp that a hottie like Atlas would want her.
I don't believe in spoiling books for others but I will say there was a scene in this book that grabbed my heartstrings and tugged, big time. AND a scene with some mirrors that set my kindle on fire! 🔥🔥
I am SO excited for the rest of the series, I don't know who's book I'm looking forward to the most!! Keep 'em coming Shaw!
I really really enjoy Shaw Hart's books, they're so addicting. The way she writes the heroes and how much they're in lust/love with their forever once they've seen them. Gahhhh, its the perfect books to get lost in the fantasy of romance. Atlas is book 1 in the Tattoo Shope, Eye Candy Ink, and it did not disappoint. Atlas, who sees his girl falls in quick instalove and he wants to spend time with her to show her how much they belong together. Darcy feels the pull towards Atlas, but while she's still weary, their chemistry is making her bring down those walls faster than she thinks. I loved the fast paced, the storyline, the supporting characters. I can't wait for rest of the series and seeing all of the Eye Candy crew get their happily ever after!
This book was extraordinary, and it was just the beginning of a new series. I can inky imagine how incredible the rest of the eye candy ink series will be. Atlas had me hooked from page one, and I did not mind at all going to bed late in other to finish this gem. Atlas knew the moment he saw Darcy that he needed to know her better because she would be necessary for his life, and he was falling fast and hard for Darcy. Although Darcy was insecure and couldn't believe a man like Atlas could want her she went for it and decided to trust her instincts. Amazingly written book with two adorable characters. The side characters only made me want their books like yesterday, but I will happily wait for book 2 for now.
There are a lot of tattoo parlor focused romances around and it is a given that I will get each and every one of them. I love this kind of romance and Shaw Hart brings her own magic to it with Atlas. Atlas is a solid guy to his friends but he hasn't been interested in dating for ages. That all changes when Darcy comes to support her friend getting a tattoo. Darcy has a lot of negative memories from her past that still have an impact on her daily life. So when Atlas expresses his interest, she has trouble trusting him. There are some bumps in the road to get to that happy ever after but each and every tear was so worth it by the end. I loved these characters and I am so thrilled that they will all get their own books. I cannot wait to get my hands on them all.
I don’t know how long this book sat in my library before I started reading it but I’m disappointed that is was taking a KU spot for so long.
I ended up DNFing this at 10% for mainly one reason. The exposition. I think when I read Darcy’s first chapter and got to “My dirty blonde hair is a shade darker from the water and it’s sticking to my face and dripping onto my shoulders. My hazel eyes are a bright honey colour with forest green flecks dancing around the pupils.” Is when I officially bowed out.
Atlas’ first chapter was like 10 pages and absolutely nothing happened but he spent paragraphs explaining all of his co-workers. Nothing about it made me want to keep reading unfortunately.
I may try something else by this author but this series is a no for me.
Oh wow! I really loved this story and can't wait to read the rest of the series!!! Atlas is a tattoo artist that works st Eye Candy Ink and he is close to his fellows tattoo artists that work with him. He is content with his life and the last thing he expects is to fall head over heels in love. Fantastic plot, likeable characters and amazing writing that will leave you wanting for more. Highly recommended
sigh, this series don't work for me. I think i might have a problem with the writing style :( I don't like the dialogues, all of them are kind of forced and don't flow well. Other than that i'm not able and i don't feel any connection or anything for them, this sucks cuz i wished i liked it,i like the idea of this story but it's not developed enough for my liking. It's poorly delivered unfortunately.
